Located on Djurgården Island, next to the main entrance to the Skansen outdoor museum. Take bus # 47 or boat on the Slussen or Nybroplan docks. The Orange Orange Building of the Cirkus, opened in 1891 and recently renovated, houses both a theatre, a restaurant and a circus.

The famous Bourbon Street, the birthplace of jazz in New Orleans, has been located in the heart of the cobblestone district of Gamla Stan since 1968. At the Stampen, jazz takes the stage every night and finds its audience sipping a beer on the high tables. The atmosphere is cosy, lit with candles and instruments and other figurines, birdcages, are hung on the ceiling! Tuesday is dedicated to jazz and Saturday to blues! Founded in 1788, the country's national theater is known as Dramaten. The theater is state-owned, and the government's mission is to present classical theater, newly written Swedish and international theater, and theater suitable for children. The current director and artistic director is Mattias Andersson. The building on Stockholm's Nybroplan has housed the theater since 1908. This large art building is structured over five floors.

The Royal Opera is Sweden's national opera and ballet theatre, founded by Gustav III in 1773. Located on the waterfront, just opposite the Royal Castle, the Royal Opera House was built between 1892 and 1899 in Renaissance style, after the original building was destroyed. Once past the marble entrance hall, one can see the large murals by the national artist Carl Larsson. Although opera and ballet are unfortunately not performed in the summer, the season is in full swing in autumn, winter and spring

The China is located in the small park at the corner of Birger Jarlsgatan and Hamngatan. In 1905, a very big star was born at the China: it was Greta Garbo, in the role of Anna Karenina. Today, China only stages Swedish plays and musicals, which usually remain on the stage for several months. The productions are excellent and appreciated by the audience. There is also a restaurant, the China Matbar, where you can enjoy their theatre menu, which must be reserved at least 10 days in advance.

Designed by architect Bo Karlberg, the Gävle Philharmonic Concert Hall is an elegant building surrounded by wild greenery on the edge of a peaceful pond. The interior acoustics are designed for flexible adaptation to symphonic and popular music, which has allowed the venue to host rock bands as well as classical orchestras and Mongolian throat singers. Katalin Varga is passionate about music in general and jazz in particular. In 2000, she invested in this old railway shed, just behind the station, to create this beautiful concert hall. Minted furniture, walls covered with posters and decorated with frescoes, big central fireplace... the atmosphere is very friendly. You can come and listen to eclectic concerts almost every night, from pop to metal, rock, and jazz of course!

Music lovers, the Konserthus is for you! The Swedish National Symphony Orchestra performs here. Usually at least one or two concerts per week, except when on tour. The rest of the time, you can enjoy other shows or jazz, classical or contemporary concerts. The acoustics are sublime and, for a few years, the Finnish conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali has been officiating there... The program changes often, so the best thing to do is to go there or consult the site for information.

Inaugurated in 1908 with a Pièce play, the Dramaten is the dramatic Royal Theatre of Stockholm and the country's national theatre. In this majestic marble building, we give both Shakespeare and Brecht, comedies such as magazines and, of course, the strindbergien repertoire.

Built in 1852, Södra Teatern is one of the oldest theaters in Sweden still in operation. During the week, the program is eclectic, between concerts, debates and Swedish and international plays. Debaser is a good music and show bar with a simple decoration. It's quite small, so don't expect huge shows, but it's still a rather underground place in Stockholm, offering concerts of all kind of music. The prices are quite reasonable for Stockholm. Melt is a 1920s speakeasy and cabaret , a burlesque bar in central Stockholm. Here you will find cocktails, eclectic cuisine, entertainment and an experience unique to this city. They host cabaret acts every night, including singers, burlesque dancers, acrobats and jugglers. You can also enjoy wine and beer. The place is beautiful and the shows are great, you are guaranteed a good night out: most locals will tell you that!

Fasching is the place to be for lovers of jazz, soul and funk. During the week there are many concerts with local and international artists. On weekends, the concert hall turns into a club and it's a magical place to dance to the sound of great music in a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. In the street of the cinephiles, a cinema that shows the great films of the moment. From the outside, its vintage and retro look invites you to spend a good evening full of emotions facing the immersive images of the big screen. Although it is a chain, this cinema has a unique charm. Saga was opened in 1937, and its foyer welcomes you in a classic and glamorous cinematic environment. Saga has four cinemas, smaller than the other cinemas in the Filmstaden chain. The cinema offers sweets, popcorn and drinks.

Housed in an old brick industrial building, Nöjesfabriken is Karlstad's nightlife hotspot. You're bound to find something that suits you in this multi-faceted venue that changes throughout the week's evenings.
