Close to Wat Phra Singh, here is an excellent address which proposes a restricted menu but with quality dishes. On the menu is their famous spit-roasted chicken, of course, but also classic Thai dishes, soups, salads... We recommend the bamboo shoot salad, the som tam or the chicken with cashew nuts. The products are fresh and the portions correct. The room, spacious and ventilated, is pleasant. The place is mainly frequented by locals and Asian tourists.

What is obvious when you enter the Mee Gaan is the modernity and cleanliness of the place. High ceiling, with large bay windows, the place gives a feeling of space. On the menu, several Thai specialities meticulously executed and presented with care. Some dishes are not very copious, but the prices are very low. No alcohol is served here, we are more in the spirit of a milk bar. Coffee, cold drinks and pastries are also on the menu. Impeccable service and menu in English, with photos.

One of the busiest spots in town. Located on a street corner, the Nomu Bar boasts a large, pleasant terrace. A modern setting with a subdued ambience and indoor sports broadcasts. On the menu, Thai and some Japanese specialties. It's more a place for a drink, or a giraffe, with friends. Happy Hour until 9pm. Concerts are scheduled almost every evening. This restaurant is located at the corner of Walking Street and the street leading to the bridge. The place is quite chic and the prices are quite high. You can sit on stools, at a table inside or on the large terrace where you can observe the comings and goings of people. Excellent pizzas, tapas and some Thai dishes are available. As for drinks, cocktails, wines and good espressos. The lounge music is pleasant, without being too loud. A bit of a "bobo" atmosphere, which is different from other Pai establishments.

The restaurant of this resort perched on the hills offers refined cuisine. Seafood and fish specialties, Thai or grilled, absolutely delicious. You can dine on the large terrace from where the view of Aow Leuk Bay and Shark Island is absolutely fantastic, and will delight romantic couples in the early evening. Ban Mai is a Phitsanulok institution. Set in a small alleyway, this restaurant in the heart of an old building offers a classic setting that's a little old-fashioned, but nevertheless pleasant. The menu features traditional recipes, with a wide choice of dishes. Unfortunately, the quality of the cuisine has declined somewhat over the years, and prices have risen. The dishes are quite good, but the value for money is not obvious. Service is attentive, but be sure to ask for prices before ordering, as waitresses don't always announce them.

Quality Thai cuisine at very reasonable prices, and with a rare concept of wok cooking. This restaurant chain, with its local colour, has everything you need to have a great time. The Pad Thai is succulent and known to be one of the best in Lamai. Let yourself be tempted by the yellow crab curry, it is excellent. The only downside is that the portions are a little small for heavy eaters. The place, open on the street, is close to several shops. The service is courteous and fast. A good choice for lunch.

This floating restaurant is located on the Nan River, close to Wat Chan and the Saturday night market . The setting is very neat, with lots of wood panelling, mini-fountains on the river, a large bus as a room and life-size statues of Marvel heroes. We sit out in the open air, overlooking the neighboring floating establishments; a band sometimes performs here. The food is quite ordinary, but inexpensive. The service is very attentive. A good place to dine and have a drink.

This small restaurant on the road, just past Klong Jak Bay, is located on a cliffside and offers a spectacular view of Bamboo Beach. On this large terrace, you will enjoy good Thai cuisine at very low prices. The place is ideal to take a break on the southern road if you are on a scooter, as you can also stop for a cold drink. It belongs to the resort of the same name which is not recommendable because it is badly maintained.

This restaurant is located on the road between Klong Nin and Klong Hin, you can't miss it. Built on the side of the cliff, it offers a spectacular view of the sea. The place looks good, with lots of woodwork. The food served is correct, but remains below the expectations of the place. The service, a bit nonchalant, could be improved. The Diamond Cliff remains however an excellent spot to admire the sunset with a drink in hand.

The Gecko Cabane welcomes you in a beautiful and comfortable air-conditioned room. Many old objects and a soft music distill a very pleasant old-fashioned atmosphere. Excellent Thai specialties of course, but also some Western dishes. If you want to taste a good entrecote, it is the ideal place! The dishes are generous and delicately presented. For the amateurs, some Belgian beers are available. The service is attentive and discreet. Without doubt the best restaurant in Krabi Town.

Located in the street parallel to the beach, just behind the Saii Village Resort, this bar-restaurant has a simple but pleasant decoration. Often full, it offers a muffled and subdued setting. Fish and seafood specialties prepared before your eyes. A menu of traditional Thai dishes also, particularly successful, notably the one that gives its name to the establishment: the famous pad thai. We also serve beer and all kinds of spirits. A charming establishment with a reasonable quality-price ratio for the island.

Located on the south-east side of the beach, this friendly bar-restaurant is a large straw hut with a terrace stretching along the shoreline under the trees. Its secluded location, away from traffic, and its relaxed atmosphere make it a good spot for your evenings. The view on the beach is magnificent. Thai food of course, but also grills, pizzas, sandwiches... But also beers and cocktails! You can of course just come and have a drink. Attentive and smiling service. One of the best places in Ao Nang to watch the sunset.

Unique to Ao Nang! Wanna's Place, the L Resort's restaurant, has been serving quality Swiss cuisine since 1986: veal sausage, plätzli, cheeses, charcuterie, homemade cordon bleu... But the real speciality of the place is to choose your piece of meat (beef or lamb) and cook it yourself on a hot plate. The restaurant also offers better quality Thai cuisine than other establishments on the waterfront. Possibility to have a good breakfast early in the morning. An alternative to consider.

The restaurant has a modern and friendly setting with pleasant music in the background. You can sit in the large garden, in the air-conditioned room, around tables with chairs or cushions, or enjoy a good iced coffee on bar stools outside. They offer good classic Thai food(pad kra pao with pork, som tam, fried fish...) as well as some western dishes. The staff speaks little English, ask for the menu in Thai with pictures to make your choice.

The cozy setting is elegant, with lots of woodwork, tables made from old sewing machines, and antiques scattered here and there. Located just before Raya Restaurant, this small, unassuming establishment serves authentic Thai cuisine, including excellent seafood specialties. The plates are colorful and the cooking times perfect. The food is really very good, and the prices are affordable. Please note that some dishes are quite spicy, as they are designed for Thai palates, so don't hesitate to ask if you'd like your dish not spicy.

Close to the Democracy Monument, this establishment is a sure bet for lunch or dinner in the city's historic center. On the menu: classic Thai dishes that you'd find just about anywhere... except that here, the ingredients are of the highest quality, the recipes expertly crafted and the dishes delicately presented. A real treat! The menu is so extensive that it's hard to choose. The chic setting is a little old-fashioned, but the service is impeccable. In the evening, a singer comes to liven up your meal. This tiny establishment with its pastel-blue walls is well worth a visit. It's close to Wat Phumin. Here you can sample some excellent noodle soup specialties from the north of the country: the famous Khao Soi and Nam Ngeaw. The Khao Soi follows the Nan recipe: a spicy broth with a dash of concentrated coconut milk, with a choice of beef or chicken. Other more classic noodles are available, as well as roast pork over rice. Right next door is Hot Bread, a small, friendly restaurant offering more international cuisine.

There are also a few well-executed dishes, such as the famous pork hong le, one of the region's specialties, a mild curry with garlic, ginger and a mild flavor. Also on the menu: noodles in tomato sauce, fried pork with rice, chicken noodles, pad kra pao with seafood, etc. A pleasant place for a lunch break. There are also a few items for sale, including clothing and knick-knacks.

Huan Phuka is the ideal restaurant for a taste of authentic Lanna cuisine. If you're unfamiliar, try the appetizer platter with nam prik nua and nam prik ong, northern specialties concocted with spices to accompany steamed vegetables, pork sausage and glutinous rice. Another house specialty is grilled pork ribs. Wide choice of meats, fish, salads... Beware, however, that some dishes are slightly spicy. Pleasant service.

Udon Thani's most unusual venue. With subdued lighting and trumpets on the ceiling, the room welcomes musicians every evening. The decor is absolutely original and artistic. On the culinary side, local and international dishes are served at very reasonable prices. The bar is well stocked. The cocktails, however, are a weak point. Of course, the clientele is young and up-to-the-minute. It's the perfect place to spend a good evening, especially as a couple, without necessarily frequenting establishments run by Westerners.

A small local restaurant located on the road between Choeng Mon Beach and Wat Plai Laem. Only 6 tables, 4 of them in bamboo booths. Mainly frequented by local customers, this small restaurant offers classic Thai cuisine at very reasonable prices. On the menu, pad ka prao, pad thai, soups, fried rice, omelets, curries... Everything is very good! You can accompany your meal with a cold beer. Fast and very friendly service.

An address specialized in fish and seafood, very popular with the locals, which is always telling! The place, located by the sea at the junction of Ao Nang and the beginning of Noppharat Thara beach, is quite large and open to the outside. On the menu, seafood dishes: fish, crabs, prawns, shrimps, lobsters, squids, mussels, oysters... To be chosen as a dish or by the kilo. Each product is declined in several recipes. It is rather expensive, but it is really excellent! In more the place profits from a pretty sight...

Roi Thai - The Original Thai Cuisine has been in existence in Chiang Mai and Bangkok for over 30 years. Koh Lanta's menu has the same formula: organic cuisine and traditional Thai dishes on the menu. The dishes are hearty and well presented, but some can be a little bland. It also offers cooking classes for the curious. The meal is taken on the terrace by the sea, the view is breathtaking. The attention to the customer also needs to be improved. Anyway, we go there more to enjoy the spotlight than to cook.

Established for almost 20 years in Hua Hin, this restaurant serves Thai fish and seafood specialties. The dishes are delicately presented but do not manage to convince completely. You can choose to be served in a well laid out garden, on the terrace of the pavilion with its Lanna style architecture, or in an air-conditioned room. The view is magnificent: the restaurant overlooks the beach and the hill where the Khao Takiab temple stands. A place to visit mainly for its very charming setting.

Close to Wat Mahathat and on the same street as the night market, this small restaurant specializes in boat noodles, an Ayutthaya noodle specialty. The boat noodles have a pronounced flavor, and contain a choice of pork or beef, different types of noodles (vermicelli, thick noodles, etc.), soy sauce and pickled beans. The soup is quite strong and sweet. The plus? The dining room is open and service is fast. You can choose small bowls of different recipes, and several beverages are available.

Elegant establishment located at the end of an alleyway between Wat Pho and Wat Arun. The decor is a pleasant blend of traditional and industrial influences. The dining room is warm and inviting, with lots of wood panelling and furniture. The cuisine is simple but tasty, with traditional dishes that work well. It's a little pricey, but you're also paying for the location and the view of Wat Arun (although work was underway, blocking the view when we visited in June 2023). An original place to try.

Here's a little boui-boui as we like them, located in an old house on stilts along the Chao Phraya River, at the Tha Tian pier where you take the ferry to Wat Arun. You'll be transported back to the days of old Bangkok. It's frequented by locals who come for the simple, cheap and good food, but also for its terrace overlooking the Temple of Dawn, to be enjoyed with a cold beer in hand.

In this small bay, luxury establishments and their posh restaurants are legion... And yet, this small local address stands out for its excellent fresh cuisine. Traditional, authentic Thai recipes. Quality products, generous portions, affordable prices and friendly service. We recommend fish and seafood dishes such as Tom Yum Goong with prawns or fried calamari with red curry. A little non-prétention restaurant not far from Wat Dab Phaj (enseigne in English), in the northwestern sector of the old town. Some tables are hidden out of the street under the shade. Simple kitchen and fruit juice. A quiet place frequented by Thai students.

This bar-restaurant is located on the shores of the lake, just outside the city center. It's the place to be for locals who want to enjoy themselves with friends or family. In terms of cuisine, the establishment offers good Thai food, including seafood specialties and traditional dishes from the north of the country. Live musicians provide the ambiance every evening. Weather permitting, you can sit out on the terrace, which boasts a lovely view of the lake.

Nestled along a Khlong, this unusual establishment is accessed by boat from the pontoon located in Chao Fah Park. This floating wooden restaurant has its own fish tank where you can choose your meal: shrimps, fish, crabs, oysters... Everything is cooked wonderfully and declined in several excellent recipes. Moreover, the setting is very warm. Do not hesitate to call in advance, we will send you a boat! Recommended.

Close to Khao San Road and Phra Sumen fort, this café-restaurant is located on the banks of the Chao Phraya, as its name indicates, and benefits from a superb view on the Rama VIII bridge. Nice terrace and air-conditioned room if the heat bothers you. The menu offers good Thai specialties, including dishes with seafood and sea products, but also Western recipes, such as pizzas, burgers, grilled meat... One can also come there to have just a hot drink, a snack or a glass.

Here is an establishment that shines by its simplicity! The menu is limited, with a few traditional recipes: a very good pad thai, panang curry, fried rice, pad krapao, chicken with cashew nuts, sticky rice with mango... As the cooks are Muslims, pork is obviously not served. The room is full almost every night. The reason? It's good and cheap! Choice of drinks and fresh fruit juices. On the spot, a small stand of roti (local pancakes) will also allow you to choose a dessert!

A special place in the hearts of Lampang's residents, if the attendance is anything to go by! Just above the old Chinese market, Aroy One Baht is packed every night. Located in an old wooden building, you can either sit near the kitchen around charming sewing tables, or upstairs. The success is due to the particularity of the place: the portions are quite small and the prices are very low, so you can order several plates per person to taste a maximum of dishes! Alcohol is also served.

This establishment combines a store selling organic and vegetarian products with a small cafeteria offering healthy meals. You can help yourself to a large and varied buffet that includes vegan, vegetarian and some non-vegetarian dishes. Fresh fruit and vegetable juices are also available. The wide choice of products will delight aficionados. Please note that while the store closes at 7pm, the restaurant stops serving at 2pm...

A small and very cheap restaurant that is crowded every lunchtime. The reason? It offers excellent local specialities at very competitive prices. Don't hesitate to try the green papaya salad(Som Tam) and the chicken dishes. The room is plain, with large waxed tablecloths on the tables, but the show is in the plate. The sign is in Thai, so you'll have to locate the place on the map to find it, or you can also ask for its location once in the street: everyone knows!

One of Khon Kaen's best places to spend a pleasant evening. This restaurant boasts a large terrace on the corner of a quiet street, and every evening offers live music from bands who come to perform on the stage, in a jazz atmosphere, of course. On the plate, Isaan's cuisine is at its best. The dishes are carefully presented, but the portions are a little meagre. This is a good opportunity to try local specialties, such as sausage in several variations. The bar offers good cocktails and wine, as well as the usual Thai beers.

This restaurant, which could not be more touristy, is nevertheless well located in front of this vast body of water surrounded by its green crown. The superstructures of many temples protrude here and there above the trees. The menu is quite classic and the quality of the dishes is average, but the setting is worth the trip, especially for lunch. Since the lake is located in the south of the city, the easiest way is to get there by collective taxi (no. 10, blue). Stop at Fairy Plaza shopping centre and end of walk, to the east.

A downtown restaurant not to be missed! Barrab is housed in a modern building with two pleasant dining rooms, one on the ground floor, the other upstairs. You can even sit out on the small outdoor terrace. The menu ranges from traditional Khao Soi to Hung Lay pork curry and homemade shrimp wonton . The dishes are tasty and made with fresh produce. Good news: the menu is also in English! And to make matters worse, the owner is very friendly.

The waiters are busy, the farangs are numerous, and the flavors explode in the mouth. Try the crab red curry, you won't be disappointed. This is the opportunity to test your Thai and to say, once we clear your plate: aroy mak mak (it's very good)! A good plan for small budgets, but not that !

This small restaurant, masterfully managed by Frank, is a great success. The tables are set in a large open terrace or in an air-conditioned room. Didine's menu offers very good French dishes (salmon tartar, duck with orange sauce, Chateaubriand steak, etc.) but also pizzas and Thai dishes, prepared fresh from the market. And for the gourmets, very good desserts. The menu is varied. Good choice of wines to accompany your dinner. Nice welcome and service.
