Try the excellent khao soi, Chiang Mai's specialty, prepared with chicken or beef. A very good deal for lunch, especially as prices are very low.

This establishment actually comprises three entities: the Churn Café, open until 5pm, a takeaway stand selling fresh cold-pressed fruit juices and drinks, and Tangluk, a bar-restaurant open until late. The Churn is a small, elegant and friendly café, with a decor reminiscent of a bygone era. Tangluk is spread over several floors and offers good Thai cuisine and a myriad of drinks. In the evening, live bands provide the ambiance. Located along the railroad line, you can even watch the trains go by..

Installed on stilts, the "People of the Sea" restaurant is of course specialized in fish and shellfish. Good local reputation... The atmosphere is closer to that of a canteen than a big restaurant. Beautiful terrace overlooking the beach. The fish is cooked to perfection. The large number of customers suggests that the products are very fresh, which is very positive. On the other hand, we noticed a certain carelessness concerning the service on certain evenings. It's a pity that the prices are a bit prohibitive.

Be careful, this restaurant is not on Soi Leng Kee. Reputable establishment without being of great standing, with a room open to the street. Choice of various Chinese and Thai dishes and very reasonable prices: duck, lacquered, fish and seafood, soups and some vegetarian options. The establishment is open day and night to satisfy the demand, which is great as you can attest! A very good address that doesn't look like much, which you will appreciate all the more if you go there at the end of the night.

A convenient address in the north of the village, on the road to Chalok Baan Kao. Thai restaurant offering appetizing family cuisine. Green papaya salad (som tam), curries, sandwiches... The choice is vast. There are also good breakfast options. A typical wooden place. Floor prices are another factor in the success of Yang Thai Food. The service is rather fast and very friendly. A bit hard to find, but it would be a shame to miss one of Koh Tao's best shots.

Indian cuisine, yes, but authentic and with à la carte dishes rarely found in this category. Try the Malabar Coast specialties of fish and shrimp in sauce, chicken Madras or the Goan classic, chicken vindaloo. Nan, roti, basmati rice to accompany your dishes. Special mention for iced masala chai, the famous Indian spiced tea in an iced version. Recommended.

It's hard to imagine Wasabi as a chain restaurant, so elegant, hushed and pleasant is the setting. A large screen shows images of underwater life and the place is lulled by soft lounge music. On the menu, a wide assortment of sushi, maki, uramaki and sashimi... All are carefully prepared, and some are quite original... Bentos are also available for lunch. A wide choice of teas, wines, beers, sake and cocktails. The prices may be high, but the ingredients are of excellent quality. Recommended.

This resort has a very popular restaurant on the island which offers very honest prices. On the menu are local and international specialities, as well as a fish and seafood stall to choose from. The bar section stays open until late. Musician during dinner then another group takes over at the bar on the left side of the restaurant. The latter also deserves a visit for a drink. The Rocky's Boutique Resort restaurant is Lamai's gastronomic address par excellence. Here you can enjoy delicious modern French cuisine at not-so-prohibitive prices, all things considered. Hokkaido scallops are sublime, just like Rossini beef or sea bream... Not to mention the desserts, all very tempting. Excellent cocktails. The setting is classic luxury, the atmosphere is chic and friendly, and there is even a cabaret every Sunday. Reservation recommended.

Italian restaurant opened in 2008 by two Italians, Marco and Tony. All the traditional dishes: ravioli, gnocchi, milanesa, or lasagne on the menu, all prepared on the premises, and of course a large choice of pizzas cooked over a wood fire. Some Thai specialties as well. Don't forget to save some space for the desserts! The room is welcoming with its wooden furniture and a small terrace where you can watch the comings and goings of passers-by. The same team recently opened a branch of the restaurant in Thong Sala.

This group has existed for more than 30 years, and has restaurants in Brussels, Bangkok, Paris, London... The scenery alone is worth the trip: this superb Chinese-Portuguese style building is none other than the former residence of the governor of Phuket. Home-made pasta and ravioli, delicious pizzas, meats, salmon, salads and some Thai dishes are on the menu. Warm welcome.

Known for its good reputation, it is somewhat outlying to the south of Lake Chong Kham. The front and back room are open to the outside and the light is dimmed by curtains of green plants: tropical atmosphere guaranteed. Downtown restaurant located on a small side street between the lake and the main avenue. Completely renovated in 2021, it now has a very pleasant modern setting with high ceilings. Classic Thai cuisine for the most part: pad thai, morning glory... The food is quite simple but of good quality. Menu available in English. The waiters are smiling and attentive. The only drawback is that the place is a little difficult to find, the street where it is located is close to Ngamta Hotel. Recommended.

Just opposite The Boathouse. Here you'll find succulent grilled meats of the highest quality. The menu includes Thai, Mexican, pasta, burgers, steaks, fish and seafood, European dishes and vegetarian specialties. Two Chefs has four locations: Kata Beach, Kata Centre, Karon Beach & Patong. Nightly music by the Two Chefs Band. An excellent compromise between service and quality in a pleasant, modern setting.

If you ask us, it's better to dine in one of the smaller establishments facing the entrance to the historic park...

Close to Wat Phra Singh, here is an excellent address which proposes a restricted menu but with quality dishes. On the menu is their famous spit-roasted chicken, of course, but also classic Thai dishes, soups, salads... We recommend the bamboo shoot salad, the som tam or the chicken with cashew nuts. The products are fresh and the portions correct. The room, spacious and ventilated, is pleasant. The place is mainly frequented by locals and Asian tourists.

What is obvious when you enter the Mee Gaan is the modernity and cleanliness of the place. High ceiling, with large bay windows, the place gives a feeling of space. On the menu, several Thai specialities meticulously executed and presented with care. Some dishes are not very copious, but the prices are very low. No alcohol is served here, we are more in the spirit of a milk bar. Coffee, cold drinks and pastries are also on the menu. Impeccable service and menu in English, with photos.

This restaurant is popular with tourists and locals alike. The place, on the beach, is very cosy, with a superb view of the bay. This restaurant is located at the corner of Walking Street and the street leading to the bridge. The place is quite chic and the prices are quite high. You can sit on stools, at a table inside or on the large terrace where you can observe the comings and goings of people. Excellent pizzas, tapas and some Thai dishes are available. As for drinks, cocktails, wines and good espressos. The lounge music is pleasant, without being too loud. A bit of a "bobo" atmosphere, which is different from other Pai establishments.

A little hard to find, at the end of an unappealing soi. When you arrive, you're struck by the cleanliness of the room: everything is immaculate white and the tables are beautifully laid. You can dine on the large terrace from where the view of Aow Leuk Bay and Shark Island is absolutely fantastic, and will delight romantic couples in the early evening. Ban Mai is a Phitsanulok institution. Set in a small alleyway, this restaurant in the heart of an old building offers a classic setting that's a little old-fashioned, but nevertheless pleasant. The menu features tasty traditional recipes, with a wide choice of dishes. We particularly liked the red duck curry (gaeng phed ped yang), smooth and delicately spicy, and the fried fish in red sauce (chu chee pla nue deng). Very good desserts too. Service is professional and friendly, and we'll be happy to recommend the best dishes if you're unsure.

Chain of restaurants opened since 2007, The Kitchen is one of the best known addresses in Patong. In the heart of the action, at the entrance of Bangla street. Here you can eat very well but it is difficult to choose because the offer is so vast. Thai or international, you will not be disappointed (the menu is available on the site). Special mention for the Chicken Panang XXL skewer and the fine apple pie with its homemade salted butterscotch caramel ice cream for dessert. In a magnificent white colonial-style house on the banks of the river, you'll find a sophisticated restaurant and café for gourmet delights. This floating restaurant is located on the Nan River, close to Wat Chan and the Saturday night market . The setting is very neat, with lots of wood panelling, mini-fountains on the river, a large bus as a room and life-size statues of Marvel heroes. We sit out in the open air, overlooking the neighboring floating establishments; a band sometimes performs here. The food is quite ordinary, but inexpensive. The service is very attentive. A good place to dine and have a drink.
