A multitude of restaurants lined up on the promenade facing the ocean: all of them offer more or less the same cuisine. We chose this one because it is mainly frequented by locals. The prices are affordable, but can go up depending on the products ordered. The place is nice, simple, with wooden furniture. The dishes are good, from squids to shrimps, including whole fish (excellent mackerel). Smiling service.

Le Tigre is coming! Just around the corner, this new bar is packed almost every night. On the plate, you'll find Thai dishes and plenty of choice for picnicking with friends. For a drink, beer lovers will be delighted. While the bar doesn't offer a wide variety of spirits, it does boast a large number of beers, both local and international. The lighting enhances the atmosphere. Concerts are sometimes organized to liven up evenings. Professional, courteous service. A place frequented by Khorat's golden youth.

Near Lake Nong Prajapark, this is a restaurant worth a visit. It serves excellent Vietnamese cuisine with Isaan influences. The prices are very low. A la carte: sausages, curries, noodles, nems, spring rolls, omelettes and many other delicacies. The map is not translated into English but there are pictures of the dishes. A downside: the room is very bright and evokes a cafeteria more than a restaurant. The establishment is quite off-centre but the tuk tuk tuk drivers know this address well.

A special place in the hearts of Lampang's residents, if the attendance is anything to go by! Just above the old Chinese market, Aroy One Baht is packed every night. Located in an old wooden building, you can either sit near the kitchen around charming sewing tables, or upstairs. The success is due to the particularity of the place: the portions are quite small and the prices are very low, so you can order several plates per person to taste a maximum of dishes! Alcohol is also served.

Located in a small village with many bars and restaurants, between Kosa and Pullman hotels, this small establishment is worth a visit. The cuisine offered is of very good quality, including antipasti and pizzas. Few establishments of this type in the city, if you want to eat Italian, it's here! Two atmospheres to choose from: on the terrace or in a small air-conditioned room. The decoration is sober and the music in the background is pleasant. The waitresses, friendly and efficient, speak good English

Family restaurant opened more than 30 years ago and reserved for early risers or night owls. People come here to eat Vietnamese specialities, sandwiches with Chinese and Vietnamese sausages, omelettes with pork minced with rice, pork pâtés, chicken in sauce. Beverages, tea, coffee, but no alcohol. The establishment has a few tables to sit quietly in a room with tiled walls. An excellent place for breakfast, very popular with locals and often crowded from 6:30 to 8:00 am

A small and very cheap restaurant that is crowded every lunchtime. The reason? It offers excellent local specialities at very competitive prices. Don't hesitate to try the green papaya salad(Som Tam) and the chicken dishes. The room is plain, with large waxed tablecloths on the tables, but the show is in the plate. The sign is in Thai, so you'll have to locate the place on the map to find it, or you can also ask for its location once in the street: everyone knows!

One of Khon Kaen's best places to spend a pleasant evening. This restaurant boasts a large terrace on the corner of a quiet street, and every evening offers live music from bands who come to perform on the stage, in a jazz atmosphere, of course. On the plate, Isaan's cuisine is at its best. The dishes are carefully presented, but the portions are a little meagre. This is a good opportunity to try local specialties, such as sausage in several variations. The bar offers good cocktails and wine, as well as the usual Thai beers.

This restaurant, which could not be more touristy, is nevertheless well located in front of this vast body of water surrounded by its green crown. The superstructures of many temples protrude here and there above the trees. The menu is quite classic and the quality of the dishes is average, but the setting is worth the trip, especially for lunch. Since the lake is located in the south of the city, the easiest way is to get there by collective taxi (no. 10, blue). Stop at Fairy Plaza shopping centre and end of walk, to the east.

A downtown restaurant not to be missed! Barrab is housed in a modern building with two pleasant dining rooms, one on the ground floor, the other upstairs. You can even sit out on the small outdoor terrace. The menu ranges from traditional Khao Soi to Hung Lay pork curry and homemade shrimp wonton . The dishes are tasty and made with fresh produce. Good news: the menu is also in English! And to make matters worse, the owner is very friendly.

This small establishment is located opposite Riverside Restaurant, close to Kad Kong Ta Market. It was founded in 2011 by an Anglo-Thai couple who will welcome you with a smile. The menu features a wide range of Thai and international dishes, pizzas, desserts, ice creams, smoothies, coffees and a variety of spirits. The place is very cosy, and is located on the first floor of the owners' house! Pool table, TV room for sports events and terrace on the Wang River side. Relaxed atmosphere.

A little corner of France in Hua Hin. The Brasserie de Paris welcomes you in its large room with terrace overlooking the beach. The menu offers French specialities (snails, foie gras, beef tartar), steaks (Australian and New Zealand beef), the eternal fish and seafood dishes, as well as an attractive wine list. Jazzy atmosphere. Artists come to perform on certain nights of the week. Professional and friendly service. The Brasserie opens at 8am to serve home-made breakfasts... Enjoy your meal!

A pleasant setting, a service to the smallest details, this restaurant is a must in Hua Hin. What about the kitchen? That's why the customers come back... Excellent Thai cuisine, sometimes a little spicy, delicately presented. Duck with apricots, crab rolls, green, red, yellow curries... Some international dishes are also à la carte, but it would be a shame not to take advantage of their know-how of Thai cuisine ... A small annex, Little Orchids, is nearby.

Very popular with locals at breakfast time, this establishment serves real good Thai cuisine. It's hearty, very well presented, and the atmosphere in this restaurant is very relaxed. The waiters are busy, the farangs are numerous, and the flavors explode in the mouth. Try the crab red curry, you won't be disappointed. This is the opportunity to test your Thai and to say, once we clear your plate: aroy mak mak (it's very good)! A good plan for small budgets, but not that !

This friendly bar-restaurant on Nadan beach is a perfect spot to watch the sunset. They serve excellent fish and seafood of course, but also pizzas, bruschettas, traditional Thai dishes, among others... It's a great place to stroll around and enjoy a cold beer or cocktail. It is particularly popular among Anglo-Saxon tourists following a BBC report. A place to discover.

This bar-restaurant, located in the centre of Khanom and run by a Finn, is a nice place to have a good time. On the menu: steaks, burgers, fried, but also some dishes that will delight delicate palates, such as roasted camembert with apples and pineapple, salmon... The chef makes it a point of honour to serve quality food and it shows on the plate! Games are available (billiards, darts, etc.). The place is very friendly and it is not uncommon to end the evening with a toast with other travellers!

This great restaurant is a great success, it must be said that the prices charged are rather attractive! Good traditional Thai cuisine, barbecue, some original fish specialties... Dishes from Isaan province, in the north of the country, are also offered, which is rather rare in this part of Thailand. It's often crowded but the table rotation is quite fast, don't be discouraged! It is also one of the few restaurants to offer draught beer at low prices. Guitar/voice concert every night.

This newcomer to Lanta's gastronomic landscape has already won hearts. Excellent traditional Thai cuisine, low prices, modern setting, young team, and pleasant background music. That's all it took for The Kitchen to become very popular! The setting is traditional, with lots of woodwork and an open terrace. On the plate, it is delicately presented, fragrant, and slightly adapted to western palates (don't get too spicy).

This establishment specializes in burgers, which are probably the best on the island. Varied choice: beef, pork, chicken, tuna, salmon, shrimps but also vegetarian options. Most of the ingredients are made on the premises and the burgers are served with several sauces and different pickles. Even the presentation is original! If you see the Swedish flag, it's because the owner of the Global Local is from Sweden!

Colourful illuminations in the centre of the beach will probably attract your attention, this is the small Malee Seafood restaurant. Plastic menus, skewers, wooden furniture and quick service, no doubt, it is a real little Thai gargote run by people from the village. It serves honest Thai cuisine and seafood specialties that can be chosen in a vivarium.... Beer is cheapest here too. The Madama Ping restaurant next door is also worth a try.

This rather chic restaurant plays the card of diversity with of course Thai specialties, seafood, but also European dishes, pizzas and very good burgers. On Sundays, the place turns into a British rotisserie, one of the specialties. A variety of breakfasts are also available. The terrace, with its bamboo furniture, is very pleasant in the evening, especially thanks to its nice soft lighting. Good quiet music. Attentive service. One of the best places in Noppharat for dinner.

If you want to vary the pleasures while enjoying the many seafood products the region has to offer, this very good Japanese restaurant is recommended. It is located along the river in front of the statue of the crab, the Black Krab. Wide variety of dishes, including the unmissable sashimi and sushi, donburis, grilled meat and fish... You can even find duck foie gras sushi à la carte! The products are very fresh, the hygiene impeccable, the wasabi grated on the spot and the dishes carefully concocted. The modern setting is pleasant.

This modern café offers a contemporary menu with breakfast, brunch, salads, sandwiches, dishes, desserts and all kinds of hot and cold drinks. In tune with the times, there are vegetarian and vegan specialities, whole wheat toast with avocado and salmon, cereal bowls, gluten-free dishes, smoothies... The perfect place to take a regenerative break! Our favourite establishment in the city for a healthy breakfast with an excellent coffee, and start the day off right.

This Phuket Town classic is located in a small recess in a charming old building built at the beginning of the 20th century and renovated in recent years. There is a bewitchingly old-fashioned atmosphere. It offers a succulent Thai cuisine, with some more original dishes specific to the region, stemming from the Perakan culture. Don't hesitate to try the popular dishes, the local specialties mentioned on the menu, such as crab curry. Pleasant service. The only downside is that the light would benefit from being dimmed more at night...

Cosy restaurant in a wooden house on one floor. The tables are distributed on various small terraces and on the ground floor, open on the street (fairly quiet). Green plants, small fountains and sculptures adorning the place. Pleasant decoration and light lighting. Thai specialities, especially fish and seafood, but also sashimis, barbecue, vegetarian dishes… Dishes are prepared without MSG. A good place for dinner.

A small French restaurant run by Michel for several years, offering excellent value for money with starter-main course-dessert or coffee menus at unbeatable prices. The food is pretty good in this price category, but don't expect a gourmet restaurant! It's more a question of simple French dishes at affordable prices. Service can sometimes be a little slow if the room is full.

In a modern and distinguished setting, this restaurant offers excellent Italian dishes, wood-fired pizzas, as well as Thai and international specialties. Excellent products imported from Italy, including charcuterie, cheeses... and grappa! Of course, the wine list is equally well-stocked. Courteous, if a little rushed, service. You can also come in for a drink and enjoy the well-stocked bar and small cigar cellar.

The Raya Resort's restaurant, with its traditional Thai architectural style, is superb. This elegant setting is ideal for a sophisticated and romantic dinner or gourmet lunch. A la carte, carefully concocted fish and seafood specialties, but also the classics of Thai cuisine and some western dishes. The dishes are copious and carefully presented. Wine list provided and attentive and discreet service. One of the best tables in town.

For those who love Korean specialties, this is where you will find the best BBQ (beef and pork) on the island. Most of the ingredients are grown on the island, including kimchi, the flagship product of the cuisine of the Land of Morning Calm, where the chef is from. The dishes, including the famous bibimbap, are made without MSG and there are also vegetarian and vegan options. The only downside is that the condiments on the side are not as good as the dishes. Some beers and Korean liquor are also available. Open room.

The meeting place for the island's Francophones. French and traditional cuisine, entrecote, duck confit, gratins, Italian-style pasta and some Thai dishes, not to mention a beautiful wine cellar, pastis, etc. Couscous evening once a month, an event in Koh Phangan! Desserts are not to be outdone. The bosses are very friendly and will welcome you with a smile on your face. The school also has a bookshop. You can also come here just to have a drink before you start your evening. Friendly atmosphere.

This friendly restaurant is located not far from the landing stage, on the main street (crossing the village from west to east). The menu is varied and international, with an emphasis on seafood, particularly... crab! Traditional Thai recipes are well executed. The fish are fresh and tasty. Without being exceptional, the Lucky Crab is nevertheless one of the best restaurants in Haad Rin, the offer being of poor quality in this part of the island. The service is pleasant but sometimes a bit long. Reasonable prices.

Run by a colourful lady with a strong character, but with an unfailing kindness, this small restaurant is worth the trip for its typical cuisine prepared on the spot, but also for its atmosphere. Slow food fans will be delighted! The dishes are copious and carefully presented. Try the curries, they're delicious. The setting is pleasant and invites you to relax. You can sit at the table or on cushions on the floor. A little gem that's hard to find, we did it for you! Warmly recommended.

A small roadside delicatessen that serves delicious traditional cuisine at floor prices. The place is open with wooden furniture. Pad thai, noodles, curries, vegetarian dishes... everything is cooked on the fly. It's authentic and you can choose the level of chilli peppers, from not at all to very much! It is a simple but delicious cuisine, to be accompanied by a coconut for the drink. You can also rent a scooter, if your hotel is nearby. This modest establishment is very popular with travellers.

Close to the landing stage, this nice little restaurant has a terrace with a magnificent view of the bay. On the menu are the usual Thai specialties, and fish and seafood, concocted in a classic Thai style, grilled or stir-fried. It's good and really cheap. Possibility to drink a cold beer, or even spirits if you feel like it after a long day of diving. Several establishments of the same type are lined up in front of the beach, but this one remains our favourite

This small restaurant offers excellent cuisine concocted just like at home by Kati. It is located in a charming house on the side of the road. The dishes are delicately presented and the different flavours are balanced. It's probably the best Thai table on the island. Everything is worked out minute by minute so the wait may be a little longer than elsewhere, but your patience will be rewarded. For dessert, try homemade coconut or passion fruit ice cream. Cooking classes are also given.

Located south of White Sand Beach, near Klong Prao, this restaurant serves good seafood specialities. The egg noodles (egg noodles) prepared on the premises, served with seafood, are to be tasted. The menu also includes classic dishes such as pad thai or chicken with cashew nuts. The rates are still a little high, but the address is busy. Some recipes hit the bull's-eye while others are more mundane... Open room and pleasant terrace. Correct service.

A very small restaurant but worth the trip! The friendly chef is transalpine, which is already a guarantee of authenticity. The map is quite small but this is often a good sign, with an emphasis on quality rather than quantity. Homemade pasta, ravioli, lasagna, pizzas... The day's suggestions are recorded on a slate. Everything is delicious. Wine list, limoncello, grappa... The place was expanded in 2019 with a small air-conditioned room in addition. Probably the best Italian on the island.

A particularly charming place located on the riverside, on the road leading to the Iyara Resort. A small wooden house with white and blue in predominant colours, with several atmospheres (terrace, room). As you can imagine, Thai-style seafood specialties are served here. It's excellent and the rates are very affordable. The terrace of this restaurant is very pleasant. It is nice to stroll and admire the coming and going of the boats on the river. Low prices, pleasant service. Warmly recommended.

This wooden restaurant on stilts is located along a river, just at the mouth with the sea. To get there you have to take the street of the Ramayana Koh Chang Resort. In addition to the exceptional location, guests come for the excellent fish and seafood preparations and the mild prices. The classics of the national cuisine are also served here. The service is a little nonchalant but the quality of the dishes and the splendid view make you forget this false note. The wooden structure is a little floating, but it holds!

Previously in Bang Bao, this lounge bar-restaurant has moved to Klong Prao. The room is now more welcoming with its modern decor that evokes the Mediterranean. It is a place to discover. First of all, for the cuisine, Greek as you can imagine, which is a pleasant alternative to what you can find on the island. For the good cocktails, to sip while admiring the view, and also for the atmosphere of the place and for Kostas, its friendly and colourful owner.

This great Italian restaurant offers not only correct pizzas but also a whole range of Italian dishes, pasta, lasagne, osso bucco, and superbly executed desserts, panna cotta, tiramisu, etc... The service is random, sometimes very good, it can also be neglected. It's also a bit expensive but the rates at Khao Lak are adapted for tourists . Nevertheless, this restaurant is a good alternative to vary the pleasures.

The PRU is a very upscale restaurant offering new and modern cuisine. The culinary style is based on Western tradition but is influenced by the exotic regional cuisine of the region. The dishes are delicate, fragrant, using ingredients such as plants, flowers and roots that grow wild in the restaurant's garden. For the rest, we let you discover this surprising establishment.

Located at the exit of Patong, direction Kamala. Alessandro Frau, the Sardinian chef and former chef of the Sheraton Laguna, offers a multitude of dishes that cannot be found anywhere else on the island. The creations are original and the presentation of the plates is exquisite. Rewarded for its fine cuisine by prestigious magazines, it also has a very wide range of wines to accompany meat, fish and shellfish. The modern setting is very chic. The reception is courteous and the service is coordinated. Reservation required.

Here is an establishment as we like them, totally invested in its mission: to offer healthy food with quality ingredients. No plastic is used here and even bamboo straws! You can enjoy vegetarian, vegan and/or gluten-free dishes in a pleasant little garden. On-site shop with various products, including superfoods such as Moringa and Goji berries. Nice library where you can buy or exchange books. And on top of that, the team is very nice and is also involved in various NGOs!

A beautiful establishment with its feet in the sand directly on the large beach of Ao Yai. It is the restaurant of the JJ Beach Resort which offers rooms and bungalows. The furniture of the restaurant is made of wood, which is pleasant and not so common on the island. Colourful but discreet illuminations give an etheric atmosphere in the evening. Speciality of fish and seafood, generally from the day's catch, grilled on the barbecue. It is an excellent spot to dine with your feet in the sand, but also to contemplate the sunset.

Don't be put off by the cold atmosphere of the dining room, the cuisine is well worth the detour. This restaurant offers subtle and delicious cuisine, with recipes that are out of the ordinary. Creativity, delicate presentation, fragrant flavors, successful drinks and cocktails... It's almost a no-fail situation. Almost, because the service is not up to the quality of the dishes, and certain products are sometimes lacking. Despite this, it's an address worth visiting!

This full-length restaurant is located near Thun Wua Laen Beach, about 20 km north of Chumphon. You can find a little bit of everything in this pirate's lair all made of wood, from Thai cuisine, but also several more or less successful western dishes with Italian, French or Scandinavian sauces. But we come here mainly for the atmosphere, which is always very nice. It's also a haven for local athletes. A good spot to enjoy the day at the beach if you arrive early in Chumphon. An address we recommend!

In a relaxed atmosphere, the Canadian owners of Crave offer excellent homemade burgers made with carefully selected products. Unique to Koh Phangan, Quebec poutine is the other specialty of the place! Wraps, fish, salads and other delicacies are also on the menu, without forgetting some cocktails to be enjoyed in moderation. The place is welcoming and friendly. Everything's in place for a pleasant evening.
