Observatory inaugurated in 1872, known to house the largest telescope in Italy. The town of Arcetri was not chosen at random because, in addition to offering excellent viewing conditions, it is located near the final resting place of Galileo. Since 2002, it has been part of the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF), forming a public scientific research centre in which around 100 people work, including astronomers and students from all over the world.

Perched on a promontory, at an altitude of 1,067 m, is the Astronomical Observatory and Planetarium of Anzi... Inaugurated in 2008, it has quickly become a popular educational and tourist destination, for its activities dedicated to science and technology. The planetarium has a 12-metre diameter dome capable of projecting a faithful image of the celestial vault visible to the naked eye. It can also show the starry sky under different conditions.

Born in Catania on 24 November 1924, Salvatore Furia moved to Varese on¹ October 1940. Fascinated by nature, he never ceases to promote this exceptional natural site and its quality sky (he is notably at the origin of a law protecting the night sky from light pollution in March 2000) and he founded the observatory in 1956 and develops it with passion. For sports enthusiasts, water sports fans and the curious! Thanks to its calm waters, Lake Varese is one of Italy's most famous venues for rowing championship training. An activity that this historic club has been developing for many years. If you spend a long time on the lake, you may be able to sign up for a series of courses. And for rowing enthusiasts, Varese is the venue for the 2021 European Rowing Championships.

Why not visit the lake in a different way, while still retaining its full independence? Close to the beach of Lecco, the Lido Orsa Maggiore allows you to rent motor boats to take a ride on the lake. 40 hp engines, nautical licence not necessary. If the idea can make you dream, it has however a high cost, but daily rates are possible. The boats can accommodate four people. Reservation is highly recommended.

Among the hills covered with pastures, olive trees and vineyards, there is the family-run farmhouse I Moresani, which produces its own cheese, olive oil and wine. You can sign up for cooking classes, which focus on typical Cilento recipes (pasta, sauces, meats and side dishes). The farmhouse also rents out rooms and apartments, and has a restaurant where you can taste the products of the farm.

The end of the Riviera di Chiaia towards Mergellina is occupied by the Tennis Club Napoli, the tennis club of the Parthenopean city. In Naples, other sports are often overshadowed by football, which is the passion of all its inhabitants, but this sports club, founded in 1905, is one of the oldest in the city. The complex has eight tennis courts, one of which is clay and has a wide view of the sea. Various tournaments and competitions are regularly held there, such as the Davis Cup in 2014

To the north of the city, along the banks of the Ticino river, here's a sports association offering fun canoeing and rafting trips for adults and children. For almost two centuries, in the vibrant Oltrarno district, the Romanelli Gallery has been the sculpture workshop of the eponymous family. On the north-western slope of the Paganella, an exceptional ski area (2125 m) with constant snow cover and impeccable maintenance over 50 km. The pride of the ski area remains the "3-Tre" run, a descent that has been the scene of epic performances by the world's greatest ski champions. The black run "Olympic 2" has become the European training centre for the US international ski team.

From Vernazza, take the road that leads to the cemetery and then to San Bernardo church. Here, the trail begins, like so many stages of the Stations of the Cross. The path then passes through a vineyard until it reaches the sanctuary of the Madonna di Reggio, a black Madonna nicknamed "the African". Continuing along the path on your left, you come to Foce Drignana.

Moderate difficulty. 3.6 kilometers. Duration: 2 hours (double round trip).

From the Bletterbach Geopark Visitor Centre, a well-marked route of just a few kilometers leads to the summit of Corno Bianco (2,317 m), a dolomitic massif whose white summit dominates the gorge. The most famous sailing school in Italy is located in Caprera. This is no coincidence, as in the archipelago there are rarely days without wind. The centre organises one or two week courses for all levels, from the age of 12. Dinghy, houseboat, but also courses on special boats such as yachts or Class 40 regattas, courses to become a skipper or to follow a master class with an experienced sailor, this centre is definitely very serious. The courses include lessons, accommodation and full board.

This easy hike of about 10 km allows you to contemplate the Tre Cime, one of the most famous images of the Dolomites. From the refuge, take trail no. 101 to the Patternsattel Pass. The trail then descends and at a fork in the road you can continue to the Dreizinnenhütte or continue downhill along trail no. 105. The trail leads past the Lange Alpe hut to the Auronzohütte hut, where the loop around the Tre Cime ends.

Beautiful hike to a mountain lake of glacial origin at 2,350 m altitude. The trail first crosses a wooded area, then mountain pastures dominated by the rocky peaks of the Monti di Fundres. A few huts along the way provide well-deserved breaks from the panorama. Backpack, hiking boots, poles, water, energy bars and off you go! At the start parking lot (Dun, Val di Fundres), the destination is already signposted: "LAGO PONTE DI GHIACCIO" (Lake of the Ice Bridge). Follow path^no. 13 all the way.

It has 130 km of runs (69% blue, 28% red, 3% black). There is a quality snowpark with jumps, rails and halfpipe suitable for all levels. In the small hamlet of La Villa, the legendary Gran Risa run, often contested during the giant slalom events of the Ski World Cup. It is one of the most technical slopes in the Dolomites, 1.2 km long, with a slope of 450 metres and a 63% gradient in the walls!
