The Miliens love this establishment and meet there as a family, on the rustic terrace, in the shade of the bougainvilleas. You can opt for the vast and spacious interior room, which retains the 19th century charm with its cement tiles, high ceilings and old village pictures. On the menu, a generous and copious traditional cuisine: mountain lamb, pork tenderloin with honey, grilled vegetables, local cheeses, mussels with saffron..

A few tables on the steps of an alleyway, a subdued and quiet atmosphere, a beautiful selection of raki and a menu that goes a little beyond Greek habits. Here you will eat good whole salads, made with quinoa or lentils, grilled vegetables or generous desserts. A friendly and pleasant address. You will also notice that the establishment is particularly proud of its homemade herbs that dot its dishes, desserts and above all its rakomelo, a glass of warm raki flavoured with herbs and honey.

Overlooking the beach of Vaporia, this establishment really enjoys an ideal location, with views of the bay and the sea. The interior is pleasant and very warm, but prefer the pretty terrace to enjoy the breeze and the view. On the menu, generous and more elaborate dishes than average, including very good meat dishes, such as pork with bitter orange or veal with lemon. You can also come for a cocktail in the evening: the restaurant also acts as a bar. For dinner, remember to book.

Yellow and inspired by the theme of pirates, the Dimitris tavern is the last of the five establishments located by the sea, on the bay of Ammoudi. After descending the 500 steps of Oia to the bay, enjoy a typical meal and relax as you listen to the swirling water right under your feet. The restaurant serves a wide variety of grilled fish, seafood... What was caught the same day is displayed in a window in the restaurant's kitchen, and you can come and choose what will end up on your plate.

A recently decorated restaurant located on the central square of Fira. From its open kitchen, you can see the numerous Greek dishes made home, mainly with meat and vegetables. It also makes it possible to put water in your mouth and choose more easily what you want. Good value for money.

To eat well in Olympia, you have to know how to get away from it all. Direction Floka, not far, on the heights. Honestly, a very good restaurant a few minutes from Olympia and far from its tourist taverns. At Théa (which means "the view", because you can enjoy a pleasant panorama), it is customary to start the meal with a particularly garlicky tzatziki or an eggplant salad. Especially ask for the excellent pasto, pork marinated in wine, orange, tomatoes and chopped omelette. A delight to enjoy on the terrace. And the prices are reasonable.

The atmosphere is familiar and the service impeccable. Here conviviality is the order of the day.

This choice tavern overlooks the port of Bali, and Greek dishes are served in the shade of the beautiful terrace overlooking the bay and part of the port. As the décor attests, fish and shellfish are king here. The octopus salad is very successful, grilled squid or swordfish as well. A pleasant way to gain height and admire the sea while accompanying a glass of raki or a cold beer with some of the dishes on offer. The prices remain reasonable despite the tourist boom.

Fanari's major asset is its panoramic and plunging view on the Caldeira from one of its 3 terraces. Small family tavern held by an expert in Cretan cuisine in a small courtyard planted with trees. She's on the edge of the road, but it's more quiet than on the harbor. For a quiet evening.

This is the restaurant of the Caravella Hotel. It is a fish and mezze restaurant, which overlooks the sea from its blue and white front. Two brothers are the owners of the place and they are the ones who fish with their boat off Paleohora, a family tradition (as shown by the family photos in the back room). You can choose your own fish in the kitchen among other dishes, including vegetarian ones. Ask for the price per kilo in order to avoid a bad surprise at the time of the bill: fresh fish is always more expensive!

The restaurant has a large shaded and pleasant terrace in summer. The establishment is a member of the Greek National Tourism Organisation. Here you can taste real Greek specialities at affordable prices: moussaka, pastitzio (pasta millefeuille cooked with béchamel and minced meat), stuffed tomatoes and peppers, and all kinds of meat. The staff is very welcoming and the owner is full of resources: if necessary, he also serves as a guide for the climbing or will give you the necessary information!

The Avli restaurant is a small oasis set in the courtyard of an old house: one appreciates the setting, above all. It offers very good Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, at very reasonable prices, hence the rush that can explode in high season: we recommend booking in the early evening. Otherwise, it's better to get there late to escape the well-informed crowd. Try a traditional dish, such as lamb stamnas, cooked for several hours in the oven. With its terrace overlooking the port and opening onto the sea, Mylos is a tavern appreciated for its traditional cuisine for years. You will find all the classics of Greek cuisine with souvlaki, mezzedes and fish but also the most typical dishes of Kassos. Try lobster spaghetti spaghetti, very successful and really tasty. Big appetites will enjoy the generous portions. In the evenings in season, the tavern fills up quickly and the atmosphere can become festive when a guest or friend passing by goes to the lyre.

Family tavern owned by Nikos Platanakis. Traditional cuisine is prepared here, using melting vegetables from the garden. The owner, will make you taste the best homemade paximadi of the region. The son, who is very charming and speaks excellent French, will perhaps show you around the kitchens so that the women who officiate there will lift the lids of all the pots of the day: green beans in tomato sauce, lamb or rabbit stew....

Here is a friendly and unpretentious place for those looking for something other than the caldera. The establishment and its rooftop have just been renovated. It serves fresh products, Greek dishes of course, but also pasta, meat, salads, fish. Many organic products, grown in the owners' garden. It is copious, very correct in terms of prices, and the staff is very friendly. The owner makes his own olive oil in his childhood village. Many black and white photos of Santorini are on display.

On Isternia Beach, Chef Antonia Zarpa's elegant restaurant is considered one of the best restaurants in Tinos. Feet in the water (beware of the waves!), you will taste a traditional cuisine revisited and original, based on fresh and organic products as much as possible. The speciality, to try with your eyes closed: the tarama with cuttlefish ink. We recommend that you come at the end of the day, to have an aperitif and watch the sun go down before getting down to business. A little more sought-after than average.

Family restaurant held with love since 1968. Local meats and vegetables are lovingly cooked and served on a large terrace. Fried with a pitcher of "home" wine, wood fire grills are a treat. But this is not the only specialty of the house, we will notice the peppers stuffed with feta and then perfumed to herbs, and briam, vegetables stews with olive oil and small onions. Those who still have a little room will be tempted by a traditional dessert. At Easter and Christmas it must be a real feast!

This is a good place to eat real Greek mezzedes, homemade(mizzithropitaki with cheese or spinach, dolmadakia vine leaves, keftedakia meatballs, hydropitakia with spinach) and various snacks and salads. Olive oil and raki are homemade, as for any self-respecting address, and wines from famous Cretan and Greek estates are available. And all this at low prices! With its shaded terrace, this establishment is a simple and authentic Greek brasserie, just the way we like it.

Not necessarily refined, that's why you're advised to go for a quick snack, share mezzedes for example, or take a gyros. It is especially the setting that is very pleasant, even if in a pedestrian street. The shady terrace allows you to enjoy a pleasant break. Service and proper atmosphere. A little tourist machine but the courtyard and tables on the street offer a profitable framework.

This welcoming restaurant, with its tables set outside as soon as the weather permits, serves one of the best homemade corfiotes, created here by the respected Marina Beska. In the heart of the old Jewish quarter, a little away from the popular tourist streets, take a sofrito (beef cooked with white wine and garlic), bourdeto fish (cooked in the oven with a spicy tomato sauce)... The pasta with Corfu pancetta and mushrooms is creamy and worth a visit! The owner will also welcome you with friendliness!

Here's a traditional tavern (adjoining the Apartments Ilias complex) serving both fresh fish and local dishes (with a stifado, of course) in a pleasant setting. Very good food, a warm welcome and a comfortable terrace - even if it's on the side of the road, with no real view. For vegetarians, try the delicious vegetarian moussaka! It's a little more expensive than other places in Sami, but the quality of service is excellent. The manager also offers rooms for rent on site.

Akrogiali in Greek means "the edge of the sea". Nikos and Despoina Zervaki, the managers of this tavern, offer traditional cuisine on the terrace shaded by a huge tamarisk tree, only a few meters from the seaside. The dishes are prepared with care and with local products. Among the dishes not to be missed, the zucchini flowers stuffed with rice, the snails or the fried small fish. The wood-fired grills of fresh fish (more expensive per kilo) and meat are very good. Dishes and salads are also on the menu.

La Bouillabaisse, famous since 1970, is the star restaurant of the Minos Beach Art Hotel. The restaurant is very famous for its fine Mediterranean cuisine, with a special mention for the rotisserie and fresh fish in one of the most chic hotels in Crete.
