Close to the Santa Apolónia train station, this 1904 establishment has retained its original "Casa de pasto" decor: marble, wood panelling and period ceramic floors. A warm atmosphere in which to enjoy southern Portuguese cuisine prepared with fresh produce from local producers. Petiscos to share and typical dishes will delight your taste buds: skate with garlic(raie de alhada), horse mackerel tartar with almonds and figs or oxtail cozido with chickpeas. A good address with attentive service.

Everything is good, nothing is expensive. The locals are not mistaken to see the queue. But patience is rewarded: the dishes, of local excellence, are very copious (don't hesitate to take one for two). This is not the place to go if you are looking for a little privacy: the huge rooms under their high ceilings each accommodate about 100 guests. The emblematic cod is cooked in the oven or in a gratin, accompanied by clams. The wines offered are from a cellar of more than 250 great names, which the French-speaking waiters will recommend to you. Sweet tooths will keep a small place for the esfera de figo to be allowed in dessert. Faz Gostos is definitely at the top of our "eat parade"!

The menu twists the classics of Portuguese cuisine with talent and refinement. The scallops with curry and the red mullet are a delight. The cooking of the beef ribeye is perfectly mastered. The wine list is generous in quality and reasonable in price, making this restaurant a perfect illustration of the quality of life in the city. Take your time and enjoy this moment.

Located in the former palace of the Civil Governor, the establishment, which opened in December 2015 just a few meters from the center and below the university, boasts one of Coimbra's most beautiful terraces. It's a great place to meet up with friends during the day and in the evening. The young chef's cuisine is original and refined. Excellent wines from the region. Great cocktails, including the Basil Smash Gin, a marvel of balance. Quality service.

Located at the bottom of the city, Dom Joaquim restaurant has already received several awards for its delicate and very well executed traditional Alentejano cuisine, including one from Michelin in 2017. The tables, well laid out and mainly occupied by regulars, are framed by light marble walls and the young service team is taking care of itself. On the menu, regional gastronomic dishes such as Arroz de Lebre, Borrego assado or Bacalhau. The tourist menu can be a pretty good choice. Good selection of wines.
