Renowned for its exceptional fish, this establishment offers a particularly pleasant interior, also attracting an international clientele. We highly recommend you try the Soto Betawi beef soup, expertly concocted in a spice-scented coconut milk broth and served with fried shallots, sambal (hot pepper sauce) and sometimes hard-boiled eggs. Bakso kuah (meatballs) are also delicious. A variety of traditional Indonesian sweets are also available.

European, Indonesian and Chinese cuisine. Colonial architecture and airy terrace. Tip-top here means "perfect". Expatriates usually hang out in the air-conditioned back room. The menu includes grilled meats, rice and fried chicken, gado-gado and soups, as well as chocolate cakes, sorbets, ice creams and many pastries. The rissoles are said to be delicious. Open since 1934, this Medan institution may have aged a little, but it's still well worth a visit.

A very pleasant establishment, on one hand in the morning for excellent breakfasts at attractive prices, in the evening on the other for the changing atmosphere with its sifted light and candles. The tables are covered with tiles that punctuate the place. The quality of service is random. A few Balinese specialities, including iba bakar (roasted pork) with ginger sauce.

This warung (small local restaurant) with its authentic charm was a great discovery! The place is all wood and bamboo for a local feel. The menu is packed with culinary treasures, and you can choose from a multitude of dishes in Padang or Indonesian style. You'll want to try it all! But the must-try, the speciality of the place, is theayam woku, a true delight, which will take you on a journey to the heart of Indonesian flavours, enhanced by five or six spicy sauces... Watch your taste buds!

There is also an eccentric address, on the road to the airport (go by taxi), known tour operators as well. A restaurant with simply delicious specialties! Special mention for curry shrimp. The staff is very friendly, the terrace is very pleasant with wooden tables and light garlands. A guitarist picks up some of the familiar tunes some nights. Excellent address.
