As with all traditional houses, space is limited, rooms are small and ceilings are particularly low. But the decor is well up to scratch, and the overall ambience is just right. The café offers a good selection of delicacies.

The size, sunshine and layout of the 36 rooms vary (some have a balcony with a view of the valley while others overlook the garden) and the prices that come with it. This lodge by Barahi, a local luxury hotel chain, is a great place to stay in Sarangkot while admiring the Himalayan Annapurna range at sunrise or sunset. The welcome is warm, which favours a good atmosphere among the guests. It is a good starting point for walks around Dhulikel.

A 5-minute walk from Dattatreya Square, this building was designed by the architect of the Patan Museum and Dream Garden of Kathmandu. It combines modernity and traditional architecture with brio, making this hotel a comfortable and charming hotel. A bar and a restaurant are located at the top of the complex. For a nice stopover or a longer stay, this is a good solution.

Very friendly welcome at this address located on Durbar Square. If your budget allows it, opt for a room with private bathroom, more spacious because the other bathrooms are really small. Some of them offer a plunging view on the temples, especially the corner rooms. Out of sight, you will be able to contemplate the ceremonies of pūjā morning. On the ground floor, the corner café offers good breakfasts and very correct dishes. The guesthouse also has a quieter annex to the west of Durbar.

Away from the hustle and bustle of Thamel, here is an establishment that offers rooms - some more or less faded - with excellent value for money. Calm, light and bathtub are the characteristics of the majority of the rooms. The very nice view from the large rooftop terrace and especially the kindness of the staff should make you want to come back to Kathmandu during your stay in Nepal. Try to ask for a room with a balcony to enjoy the coolness of the night. An excellent choice in this price category.

The Bay Leaf restaurant offers world cuisine, and the bar is welcoming and comfortable. Don't hesitate to treat yourself to a massage, bath or scrub. An excellent luxury address just a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of Lakeside.

A cute little guest house that serves as an anchor for many Pokhara backpackers, as it offers private rooms that are surprisingly inexpensive for their charm. The rooftop terrace is ideal for a frugal breakfast. A warm welcome from a young owner who has already been to France.

The best hostel in Pokhara, located in Lakeside and facing the lake. We love its international cosmopolitan atmosphere and impeccable cleanliness. The dormitories are well-designed, with beds isolated in curtained cabins and equipped with lamp, socket and locker (though lacking air-conditioning). Rooms have attractive panelling on the walls and private bathrooms. Cosy terrace overlooking the lake (as do some balcony rooms).

This little lodge is really perfect, the best plan for budget travelers as it offers both affordable and cute rooms, and a breathtaking view of the river from its garden and the balconies of some rooms. It's not uncommon to see a rhino in the evening or in the morning! A front-row seat. The rooms, decorated with poetic wall stickers, are air-conditioned and feature brand-new bathrooms and private terraces. The hotel's service is really appreciable, as is its restaurant.

This is one of Bhaktapur's most beautiful, yet affordable hotels. From the moment you enter the lobby, you'll be struck by its style, which combines the finesse of Newar architecture with contemporary Nepali decoration. The building features a garden with an Indian restaurant and a pool bar serving cocktails. The swimming pool is its immense centerpiece. The rooms are very contemporary, with exposed brick walls, attractive flooring and all the expected luxuries (coffee machine, air conditioning, minibar, TV, etc.). A very nice place.

This is the best budget hotel in Lumbini. Don't look here for sophisticated decoration, it's non-existent, but the comfort is optimal: comfortable beds, private bathroom and air conditioning (very important in a Terai often scorching hot), decent breakfast, what more could you ask for? We regret the pale neon garage light, but for the price, it's very reasonable. On the other hand, you can't really call it a garden: it's just a small courtyard with a plastic table for breakfast.
