PRAÇA SÃO FRANCISCO

It is a group of several public and private buildings built at the time when the Portuguese and Spanish crowns were united, between 1580 and 1640, but also remarkable buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries. One can admire the Igreja do Convento de São Francisco and its museum of sacred art, or the former Palácio Provincial now transformed into a historical museum.
MARCO DAS TRÊS FRONTEIRAS
Read moreThis is where the Iguaçu River, into which the eponymous falls flow further upstream, joins the immense Parana River, the river that is further exploited by the binational Itaipu Dam between Paraguay and Brazil. Here we come to see the junction of the three borders: Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. Like Puerto Iguazú, whose centre is nearby, Foz has set up a new space to attract visitors to this corner away from the centre.

TERRAÇO DA USINA DO GASÔMETRO
Read moreIt's one of the postcards from Porto Alegre. This space was of course taken from the industrial wasteland of the city's former gas factory. You can admire the sunset there! It is also a lively place with many cafes, bookstores and cultural spaces. The visit of the gasômetro must be coupled with a tour on the Rio Guaiba aboard the Cisne Branco, a real floating cultural space (visit of the islands and historical commentaries for R$ 45).
