BAHÍA CACALUTA
Read moreThis is a magnificent walk to this totally unspoilt beach, which serves as a refuge for turtles to lay their eggs. On the road to Playa Maguey, there is a detour to Cacaluta, which leads to a dead end. Here begins the vegetation under which to enter to take a small shaded path of three kilometres; some boats take their guests snorkeling or diving around the islet that floats in front of the vast ocean. This is a turtle spawning ground, be careful where you step!

CARIZALILLO
Read moreCarrizalillo beach, which is reached by a long staircase, really beautiful, but so small that it is better to go there during the week and outside school holidays. It is the ideal place for a beach day and towel pull, the waters of this small bay being much calmer than the rest of the coast. It should be noted that this entire area has recently been transformed into a (pretty) residential area. Along Benito Juárez Avenue (Rinconada district) there are many small cafés and very nice restaurants.

The site is far from being pristine, but has nevertheless retained a much more natural aspect and is also bathed in the same thermal waters (38°C all year round): river, waterfalls, wild canyon, swimming pools and a swimming pool far from being invaded. Hotel and camping on the heights.

GRUTAS XOXAFI
Read moreInteresting visit since it allows you to learn caving gently. The easiest visit is on foot (or squatting...) and lasts only 40 minutes: you only explore a tunnel, but it allows you to see interesting geological formations; nice with the children. The 2-hour excursion begins at another location, with a 12-metre rappel descent, followed by a 44-metre descent (45-degree inclination); then crawl into fairly narrow areas and climb with large rock ropes: claustrophobic to avoid. The third possibility this time consists in adding to the previous one a abseiling descent of 10 meters in vertical, then a zip line crossing which is carried out at 100 meters of depth. Action!

PLAZA CENTRAL
Read moreIt is one of the major architectural ensembles organizing the city: it is even the one that governs its urban planning. This square of 750 metres long, 80 of large, was created by any piece by the padding of the terrain carried out with huge amounts of limestone stones. Around it, residential ensembles (including the famous Laberinto), pelota juego, steam baths and market. Two small squares included as a whole are the headquarters of the monumental stelas. The stairs on the Gran Acrópolis start here.
