The result of several successive construction programs that consisted in modifying and adapting the shape of the hills.

At the south-eastern end of the central square, this is the result of several successive building programmes that consisted in modifying and artificially adapting the shape of the hills to accommodate numerous constructions. It is reached by a series of stairs and small platforms. The temple at the top dominates the Plaza Central from a great height. The highest buildings (buildings 39, 40 and 41), accessible by a path at the back of the main temple, are located more than 90 meters above the central square.
