One of the five convents established in Chiapas in the 16th century, located in the most beautiful building in the city.

Located in the most beautiful two-story building in the city, the Dominican convent, founded in 1564, is a must-see if you make a short detour to Comitán. It was one of five convents established in Chiapas in the sixteenth century. The cultural center, named after the famous writer from the city (1925-1974), offers readings, exhibitions, dance classes, shows, etc. A bronze bust of the writer can be admired in the patio.
