MINA DE ACOSTA

The mine was in operation from 1727 until 1985, evolving in its layout according to technical innovations: balance pump, steam machinery, arrival of electricity, etc. Its exploitation began during the period of the Spanish Viceroyalty. A fascinating visit to get an overview of mining on a single site for nearly two and a half centuries (mining only stopped in 1985). The highlight of the show is the obligatory passage in the socavón: 400 metres of walking in a tunnel 170 metres deep.
