Set slightly apart from the other structures, the establishment is located at the entrance to the fishermen's village, with a breathtaking view of the canal and mangrove swamps. From the restaurant's covered terrace (or from the rooms on the right), you can watch the comings and goings of pirogues and dhows, and observe the men returning from fishing, sometimes carrying some very surprising creatures. At dawn or dusk, you'll love the atmosphere. The rooms, renovated in 2017, are warm and well-kept. Charm and serenity are the order of the day.

On the edge of the lagoon, with a small beach, a group of comfortable bungalows. Pleasant outdoor amenities (tropical garden, fountain, zen area, giant hammock) and a quality restaurant. From the outset, the owner chose to set up in the heart of the village of Ravoraha, in order to participate in village life, with which the lodge enjoys a very good relationship. School fees for all the village's primary school children are paid by the ecolodge. An excellent address for solidarity and responsibility. The establishment was on sale at the time of our visit.

In the city centre, a real institution. 117 rooms (almost all with views of the Queen's Palace) and international suites on two wings, the old Colbert building (rooms with nothing outdated but comfortable) and the newest Carayon (much more comfortable, to focus if possible). Use Equipment: air conditioning, satellite TV, direct dial telephone, bathtub and/or shower, minibar, safe… Luxury sometimes gloss, but with impeccable comfort. Two restaurants, including La Taverne, gastronomy, brasserie, lounge bar, two bars and several busy shops. The hotel's rich breakfast buffet (accessible to all) is the best of Tana. Other assets: the sumptuous centre of therapy (1 200 m ², including heated indoor swimming pool, hammam, 2 Finnish saunas, beauty treatments and dietetic restaurant) and a good casino. Also two fitness, cardio and body-building rooms. Its very central location and prestige make it a place of passage almost forced in the capital, and a first choice for businessmen in particular (everyone is given an appointment).

Nestled on its island, this superb eco-lodge blends harmoniously a luxury without ostentation with a form of soft simplicity. The Mauritian group Constance has created a tasteful decoration based on natural materials (fibers, wood, stones) that sacrifices nothing for comfort. Nature is king and envelops the 25 rosewood villas, the bar with its feet in the sand, the delicious Malagasy cuisine restaurant. Diving, snorkeling, spa open to the water ... compose a palette of immersive experiences.

In a lagoon-side coconut grove, 20 villas built from natural materials. Infinity pool, beach, wine cellar, 3 bars, rum cellar and spa, whose concept, architecture and decor we adore. Vegetarian dishes from the kitchen garden are on the menu every day. Feels just like home. Organization of all kinds of activities. On-site motorized outrigger canoe to the Islet aux Sables. A superb address, undoubtedly the most glamorous on the island.

Close to the city centre and very close to the port, in the heart of one of Diego's most architecturally interesting districts, the former hotel of La Poste has 32 rooms overlooking the sea and 32 rooms overlooking the garden, 80 rooms and suites, spacious, functional and of good comfort (private bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar, wi-fi). Most of them offer a view of the sea or the port. Attractive prices for groups. A wide range of excursions organised from the hotel.

A charming little resort, in a splendid setting of absolute serenity, with 15 well-designed bungalows facing the sea, with one double or two single beds, mosquito netting, private bathroom (open-air shower), 24-hour electricity and hot water. As for the meals, particular care is taken in the choice of products, always fresh and in season, combined in a mix of Italian and local flavors. Meat or vegetarian dishes on request. The Arotel reopened in April 2019 and joins the club of high-end hotels in the Vakinakaratra region, after a long renovation. The old building retains its structure, with spaces and rooms completely redesigned and updated (new decor, sleek and contemporary design). The result is a modern and comfortable hotel with 45 well-equipped rooms, a gym, a spa, a tennis court and a beautiful pool. The bar-lounge and the restaurant "Les Agapes" are also back in operation.

Small lodge composed of 9 bungalows on the beach, nicely designed, functional and comfortable, in front of the sea or on the heights. You will be welcomed by Alex, who manages the lodge and runs the adjacent kitesurf and windsurf school. A smiling, dynamic and attentive team. The bar-restaurant is open from 7am to 9:30pm. Original and careful cooking, based on home-made products. We like the warm atmosphere at the end of the day, the lounge music, the fabulous caipirinhas of the house. Good vibes. A nice address at low prices.

One of the city's newest additions, Plumeria opened its doors in 2016. Its 27 rooms, including one for people with reduced mobility, will seduce lovers of modernity and elegance: combining light colours and wooded elements, the rooms are spacious, comfortable, carefully arranged and equipped (flat screen, satellite channels, trunk and air conditioning). They all have a balcony, the suites for two to four people have a kitchenette. A wellness area with sauna, heated bath and massage rooms on the ground floor invites you to relax. The hotel also has a nice craft shop in the lobby. Restaurant/bar, room service and reception open 24 hours a day. A dynamic, welcoming and professional team. It should be noted that Le Plumeria organised and hosted the Cheese Fair on 30 March 2019, for the second consecutive year. An event that brings together and promotes local producers, with tastings and workshops. An opportunity to discover the products of the region.

34 rooms (air-conditioning, private health, hot water, TV, telephone, desk…) plus two suites. Large dining room. Spacious, bright rooms and especially very spacious, where you can breathe with pleasure. The staff were friendly. However, you can feel a little bit and it's quite eccentric. In the restaurant Le Honey, specialities especially European.

A superb and wild site. The bungalows are comfortable and perfectly maintained. We let ourselves be rocked in the hammocks on the terraces. Lemurs come to pay courtesy visits. The restaurant offers a very decent cuisine, the menu is renewed daily according to the arrivals of the day. The staff, headed by Sylvain, is friendly and eminently concerned. A dream at the end of the world, for all nature lovers. The hotel has a second entity, the Palmarium Beach, one kilometer away with 8 bungalows.

Victor has combined stone and brick with finely worked rosewood to create bungalows in the Zafmaniry style. However, the whole thing is a little dark, prefer the upstairs rooms, more classic, but more spacious and a little brighter. A group of traditional music brightens up the meals, often very animated by the presence of groups in high season. The hotel also organizes one-day hikes (4 hours round trip), two or three, in the Zafimaniry country, with accommodation with local residents or camping.

A guest house with a colonial charm, with eight suites, two bedrooms, a refined restaurant, a bar-lounge and pleasant common spaces with elegant décor— Beautiful living room filled with antiques. Ideally located in a large park on the beach, we admire the whale ball in season. The rooms combine antique furniture with traditional Malagasy materials. Each has private health, desk, safe, minibar and mosquito bed, as well as a large terrace. The restaurant, with its varangue facing the sea, its white tablecloths and impeccable service, is very pleasant. Besides, meals are very good. Our guests, Catherine and Bertrand, are attentive and available. We're going back into friends. Massage area facing the sea. The beautiful swimming pool and the wide range of activities and excursions crowned the whole, the hotel has its own boat. A beautiful address, renovated in 2017, and excellent value for money.

The Calypso remains a reference address. With its 69 modern and comfortable rooms (very good bedding!), perfectly maintained on a daily basis, its pleasant terrace restaurant, its quality cuisine, its heated indoor swimming pool and its wellness area (gym, hammam, massages and body treatments), this business and relaxation hotel offers services of a very solid European standard. A professional team that listens to its guests and ensures their satisfaction in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

A most picturesque location, as evidenced by this bungalow for 4, built in the trees (the previous two were ravaged by fire in 2018), original, fully equipped for maximum comfort and truly magical. The whole thing exudes traditional materials in a very local atmosphere. An excellent welcome from the little family of Véro and Mathias, nicknamed here "Tarzan"... you'll soon understand why. Not for the faint-hearted! Land and sea excursions to be organized on site, weather permitting.

Away from the main street, in a picturesque setting, here is a good address for small budgets. Bungalows are clean and even charming! At this price, hard to find better. Think about reserving, there is often the world. And don't forget to taste Paul's home rum, the boss!

The lodge is nestled in a small cove. Good value for money for this recent establishment. Friendly staff. The 10 bungalows in restanques to the sea offer a magnificent view. Some have a kitchen. On the private beach you will have the possibility to contemplate the bridal parade of humpback whales in season (June to September). The coral underwater funds in front of the lodge are full of colorful parrot fish, clown fish, torpedoes, groupers and sergeants. The lodge offers you the PMT equipment, it also organizes your day or half-day scuba diving (baptisms or confirmed). Possibility to book packages of dives. And a day at Ile aux Mats by boat (on-site lunch). They are also able to organise an excursion to the east of the island + settlement visits + crossing the mangrove in canoe and walk on the beach of ampanihy. Day in 4 x 4 north. Light day drive to Ile aux Mats through the pirate cemetery and the botanico park.

Simple but correct bungalows with private health (kapok shower but can heat water). If you're looking for a. with a generator, you can watch the TV and even a karaoke.

On a plot of 5 hectares, 14 spacious, comfortable and very well decorated bungalows, 10 by sea with private terrace and private health, plus 1 mini-suite bungalow and 1 family bungalow. Sports complex open the day with snack, mini golf, volleyball, bowls, tennis… Not forgetting a restaurant (offering very good meals), a bar and all kinds of activities and excursions for small and large (quad, motorbikes, jet-skis, tour of the surroundings…). We appreciate the fresh water pool with views of the mangrove and beach, the relaxed atmosphere, the beautiful sunsets, the warm welcome of the owners.

Nice site on the road to Ramena. The bungalows, pleasant and intimate, have a small private terrace. The beautiful saltwater pool, with its panoramic view of the sugar loaf of Diego Bay, flanked by its small waterfall, is a considerable asset. Small bar area (try the delicious basil mojito), cosy and relaxing Spa, handicraft store, plus the restaurant La Fleur de Sel offering quality cuisine. A reading and TV area next to the pool is planned. Didier has taken over this address, appreciated by travelers.

The cheapest hotel in the city: notice to tight budgets! This is not the great luxury, but it will be good for adventurers.

The Betsileo Country Lodge is now managed by Adafi, a former Malagasy guide who is as dedicated as he is professional. The view from this charming hotel is breathtaking, we never tire of the colors and lights that transform the landscape throughout the day. Friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and comfortable. Many activities are organized on request, making this hotel an ideal base for discovering and surveying the region. We easily stay 2 or 3 nights!

A beautiful hotel on the edge of the water, a little away from the other structures of the village. The 13 bungalows with private terraces offer the most welcome comfort for the price. Solar panels allow access to hot water and electricity at any time (taken in bungalows). Furthermore, the panoramic restaurant/bar serves specialities based on tasty fresh fish. In the programme: water activities, outings in canoes, excursions to zébu, diving, massages…

The whole is suitable and satisfies a clientele routarde who appreciates its situation, on the lagoon, its cleanliness and its (relative) amenities.

In a most majestic setting, with the Isalo massif in the background. We have the choice between small and simple paillotes, but romantic, and well decorated bungalows, which are very correct for the price. Private toilets in all rooms, small solar light in case of breakdown. The restaurant is pleasant and the food is good, with fresh homemade pasta at attractive prices, cooked on charcoal. At the request of the customers, "grill party" followed by a "dust ball" in the open air. We like it!

The experience of the Mauritian owner is evident in the superb restaurant with its ethno-chic atmosphere, the magnificent swimming pool nestled in the middle of palm trees, the bar by the sea (open to the public), the well-decorated bungalows with good comfort. As for the table we recommend, it is possible to have your meal in the dining room, on the terrace or on the waterfront below. Many activities are proposed.
