VENDÉE BRIDGE
Read moreThe Pont des Vendéens, also named Pont de Pontlieue, was completed in Le Mans during the xie century. It was a stone bridge crossing the Huisne. In particular, he is famous for being undermined by the mantle troops during the Vendean insurgency. The bridge was destroyed before the vendeans arrived in the city, just before the battle of the Battle du Mans.
The remains of the bridge were preserved and are still visible and accessible as public park, near Newton promenade. Subsequently a new bridge was built at a hundred meters from the old bridge, this is the new Pont de Pontlieue.

NOTRE-DAME D'ARREAU PARISH CHURCH
Read moreIts steeple with the square tower shapes stands above the monumental portal of entry: on the little square dedicated to him, the church of Notre-Dame which used to defend the village lost nothing of its superb. Built in the th century, it housed an arms room and, over time, the kings of the Baroque, the Ferrere brothers, illuminated its interior by providing their mastery of foil and sculpture. A magnificent reissue that bears their feet and represents the assumption of the Virgin is still visible, and it was during its installation in the th century that the name of Sainte-Catherine church was abandoned for its current patronymic. A th-century Pietà is still there and a Roman chevet. A marvel to see for its exterior sobriety and the golden exuberance of its furnishings.
