The Nuits de Joux festival is synonymous with a fortnight of summer festivities in the magnificent and famous Château de Joux, and in the theaters of the adjacent town of Pontarlier. On the program: musical and theatrical shows, entirely created and performed by the local Nuits de Joux troupe or by guest artists. More than fifteen artists to be found in an exceptional setting and with an unprecedented content. Not to be missed!

For the past thirty years, on certain evenings in July, the castle ruins have come alive. Fantastic and improbable beings, accompanied by beautiful ladies and gentlemen, emerge from the void to the delight of spectators. Around 150 dedicated volunteers bring Coucy's glorious past to life for the duration of the show. All the audience has to do is sit back and let themselves be swept along in the waltz of an enchanted and magical night.

An initiative of the Atelier des Houlaies association and the municipality, these artistic encounters are organized over a weekend in September or October, through the village and its countryside. These "Chemins et Couleurs" are dedicated to art. Around a hundred artists take over fifty locations open to the public for the occasion. The streets, the château's farmyard, the Rive Sarthe park and the Domaine des Houlaies will host a wide range of works and displays. We advise you to accept the invitation and enjoy this pleasant stroll. The paths are signposted. You can follow them on foot, by bike, by car or even by boat!

The figure of the high mountain guide has been mythical since 1821, when the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix was created. Created in 1924, the relief fund helps guides and their families. To feed it and to honour its famous guides, the Company of the guides created the Festival of the guides: all the valley of Chamonix Mont-Blanc pays a tribute to them during 4 days of festivals and songs. On August 15th, the guides parade in the costume worn by Jacques Balmat in 1786 during the first ascent of Mont Blanc.

The Christmas Village installs its magic for 16 days at the foot of the cathedral. About fifty wooden chalets, decorated and illuminated, await visitors. It offers everything you need to celebrate Christmas: decorations, traditional dishes or sweet treats always welcome. You can also find original gifts. Artists and craftsmen exhibit their creations. Children can of course meet Santa Claus. The tradition is respected with the ice rink and the choirs. Everyone enjoys strolling around in this very special atmosphere!

What a pleasure it is to walk along the towpath of a river! The setting is so bucolic that you almost forget you're exercising... Available on foot or by bike, the Mayenne trail takes the form of a Voie Verte (Green Way) covering some 100 kilometers, mostly in Mayenne and to a lesser extent in Maine-et-Loire. Departing from the commune of Mayenne, it stretches as far as Lion-d'Angers, serving a dozen towns along the way. Castles, locks and picturesque villages punctuate your strides or pedal strokes. If you're a local cyclist, you've just found a fantastic playground!

You can't miss it, Pompidou Center! Love some, hate others, he leaves no one indifferent! An ultra-contemporary ensemble decorated with cable and multicolored pipes, it houses in particular the National Museum of Modern Art - its collection is among the three largest in the world. With the Halles forum, to which you are heading, it is one of the most dynamic and attractive poles on the right bank. On the way, the City Hall, the Marais district, the square of the Tower of Saint James and the fountain of the Innocents are steps to be missed.

Housed in a crater with almost perfectly circular contour, Pavin Lake has a supernatural appearance. According to season and climate, its waters vary from turquoise blue to very dark grey, due to the depth of its centre: 93 metres. Legend tells us that it houses a submerged city, drowned by the Devil's tears! If it is a natural curiosity, it does not pose any danger. A trail allows you to turn around in 1 h at the edge of the wood surrounding it.

You will surely be married to fishermen and mountaineers who also enjoy this atypical decor.

Created in 1995, the Odyssey Company and its 300 volunteers offer early August their theatrical performances in the gardens of the rectory. The scenario is directly based on regional history and real events. In 2017, it was a operetta of Louis Varney, Les Musketeers in the Convent, which was adapted by Claire Arthur. Since 2013, Made In France Expo has been promoting French know-how at an annual event held in November. For three days, this exhibition reveals the diversity of "made in France" through several hundred exhibitors, all sectors included. Textile, automotive, gastronomy, home, health... it is the must-attend event for lovers of Made In France. They can discover the latest innovations and buy directly from French companies. In recent years, Annecy's landscapes have been enriched by artistic works linking elements of the local heritage, starting with nature and architecture. Year after year, summer after summer, a perennial trail of artistic and landscape installations has been built up in the urban area. Touskiflot is both a sporting and a festive event! On the Gave de Pau, the craziest boats offer up a mythical race! The most incredible, handcrafted rafts battle it out in a non-stop, good-humored battle. Between 3 and 7 people put on the show, with participants showing off their inventive rafts and disguises. Between Pont d'Espagne and Laroin, the crew have a field day! For the public, it's two days of festivities with entertainment, meals... The whole weekend's fun! Sunday's race remains the highlight of the event initiated by the Léo Lagrange center.

This key event of the year is an unmissable opportunity to go behind the scenes of France's heritage treasures. During this magical NIGHT (May 20 in 2024, marking the 20th edition of the event), the city's museums and monuments come to life. Illuminated by special lighting effects, they are revealed in a whole new light. This little-known face of the city is full of surprises and discoveries, and carries with it a mystical atmosphere.

The musical encounters proposed during this festival will bring together for a series of concerts young artists from the Juilliard School of New York, singers from the Jardin des Voix and instrumentalists from Les Arts Florissants in an idyllic setting conducive to creation. Harpsichordist, conductor of international renown, musicologist and teacher, William Christie, and his associate director Paul Agnew offer an original and original journey through a remarkable garden.

One of the most popular festivals in the Francs-Comtois region, and the only major music festival in Haute-Saône. What a line-up! Today, Ida y Vuelta has become a must-see event in Perpignan, attracting more than 20,000 people during four days. Organized by the Young Farmers of the Tarn, this great event honors all the productions of the soil. Every year, on the first Friday and Saturday of August, more than 10,000 gourmets gather to celebrate the Lautrécoise tradition. On the programme: a professional market, tastings and exhibitions, but also folk dancing, a competition for the best garlic tart, a pink garlic walk, a treasure hunt and various activities for children, not forgetting a big dance. The Glorieuses de Bresse will celebrate their 150 years in 2012. Every year for Easter Sunday, Châteauneuf-du-Faou organizes the largest Fest Deiz ha Noz traditional of Brittany, the Spring of Châteauneuf.
