THÉÂTRE GARONNE

Theater
3.5/5
2 reviews

Created in 1988, the Théâtre Garonne devotes its activity to contemporary arts, be it theatre, dance or music. It is housed in a former river water pumping station, made up of four fairground brick buildings, where the workshops and a 255-seat auditorium have been installed. Entirely renovated, it has a beautiful terrace overlooking the Garonne and a bar where you can sip a drink while waiting for the stage. The programme is international and helps to make an offbeat contemporary theatre more accessible, sometimes considered to be hermetic. Thanks to its many partnerships, this theatre is a beacon of artistic and cultural life.

LE THÉÂTRE SAINT-LOUIS

It was not until 1854 that the idea of creating a theater in Pau was first mooted. Closed in 1978 for safety reasons, it was reopened 11 years later by André Labarrère, who gave it a serious facelift, including the superb ceiling byMme Lacay-Burato. After a few twists and turns and some final renovations, it reopened its doors in 2016, and this little Italian-style theater is now the prestigious backdrop for Palais's cultural scene. It's true that its 430 seats make it an intimate setting where artists and audiences establish a real closeness, conducive to the emotions that are inevitably at the rendezvous. What a beautiful, lively and magical venue!

THÉÂTRE HÉBERTOT

Theater
3/5
2 reviews

First of all, you'll be seduced by the appearance of this theatre on a boulevard with a lot of land. And inside, in this Italian room of 630 places, the charm continues. The theatre des Batignolles was opened in 1838. He became the Theatre of the Arts in 1907 and then took the name of his new director in 1940. A playwright and journalist, Jacques Hébertot already directed the Théâtre-Elysées theatre from 1920 to 1924. In 1946, during a large renovation of the theatre, the staircase ramps installed on the sides of the building and the letters H appeared throughout the site. Other notable productions: The two-head Eagle, from Jean Cocteau with Edwige Feuillère and Jean Marais, Les Juste, by Albert Camus, with Serge Reggiani, Green Queen, Maurice Béjart comédie with Maria Casarès and Jean Babilée, this strange animal, Gabriel Arout, according to Tchékhov, with Delphine Seyrig and Jean Rochefort.

After Jacques Hébertot's death in 1970, Jean-Claude Brialy was run in the theatre. In 2003, Danièle and Pierre Franck were at his head. At the end of 2013 Francis Lombrail became the new theatre director.

Among the pieces that have been seen in recent years, note: Less 2, of Samuel Benchetrit with Jean-Louis Trintignant, stage exit, of Nicolas Bedos, with Guy Bedos, The King is dying, of Eugène Ionesco…

Note that the room was renovated in 2010. The second room, the Petit Hébertot, is led by Xavier Jaillard.

THÉÂTRE DE MÉNILMONTANT

Theater
3/5
1 review

There are three rooms at this address: XXL - 345 seats -, XL - 96 seats - and Le Lab - 90 seats - as well as rehearsal studios. Various companies present their shows. The history of the Ménilmontant theatre dates back to 1877 when two halls in the area are successively open for Saint Peter's patronage and the Salésiens fathers. There are numerous performances of children, teenagers and adults. Then there are "Passions", "Mysteries", "Mystères" sessions and "light projections", patriotic pieces, comedy, drama, lyrical performances, operettas… The current address was inaugurated in 1929. A former mentor, actor Georges Chamarat, is assembling pieces. In 1932, Passion was created in Ménilmontant, a show played by residents of the neighborhood who enjoyed a long success. In 1958, before founding the Théâtre de l'Est Paris, Guy Rétoré and his Guild settled in this theatre to which they gave their name today. The NPT of Jean Vilar also plays there. From the 1970 s, the Théâtre theatre opened to the song: Félix Leclerc, Graeme Allwright, Mouloudji… In 1979, a Théâtre Theatre Workshop was launched. And the adventure still continues today. This place must have grace!

First, there was a conservatory founded in 1850 by Renée Maubel, which included studios of rehearsals and a hall where Raimu, Frehel and Pierre Fresnay were included. Unfortunately, it was seriously deteriorated in the 1970 s. In 1984, Michel Galabru bought her, retyping her and confided it to his daughter Emma, who named the theater place Maubel-Galabru, then Montmartre-Galabru. 1 review

In the heart of the pink city, the Théâtre de la Cité is Toulouse's national drama centre. This imposing building of bricks, glass and stone, built in the footsteps of the former Toulouse Conservatory, echoes loud and clear the voices of poets and playwrights. Since 2018, under the direction of director Galin Stoev, has been launching a programme for the widest possible audience. This is a long way from elitist theatre. A place of life and sharing opens up. Similarly, space is given to creation and co-production, to artists' residencies. The theatre is oriented towards the repertoire of tomorrow, poetry, circus and puppet arts, music or dance.

THÉÂTRE MONTPARNASSE

There were several entertainment establishments since 1817, on the site where the current room - seven hundred square places - was built in 1886. She was marked by the period during which Gaston Baty led her, from 1930 to 1943. He set up classics and opened his stage to productions such as the'Opera, by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill. In the following years, the Montparnasse theatre will allow many Anglo-Saxon authors to make themselves known in France: Peter Schaffer, Arnold Wesker, Noël Coward, Harold Pinter, Murray Schisgal… Myriam de Colombi has been leading the room since 1984. Among the shows she presented to us are: The Night Watchman, by Sacha Guitry, with Yasmina Reza and Fabrice Luchini, Le Secret, with Anny Duperey, Pierre Vaneck and Fabrice Luchini, Real Life, from Tom Stoppard, with Pierre Arditi, Evelyne Bouix, Catherine Rich, La Boutique au corner, from Ernst Lubitsch, with Florence Pernel, Samuel Labarthe, Jean-François Derec, Wojtek Psoniak… Le Petit Montparnasse - two hundred places - was created in 1979 in a former frame warehouse. It has created new talents. Trials have been carried out there, some of which have been successful.

The municipal theatre is the symbol of Émile Loubet's golden age. Theatre à la'in neoclassical style, its orientation to the Mistral, outside the walls of the city, and its interior layout had been greatly criticized at the time - 1882 to 1885. After decades of good and loyal services, which have become unfit to receive from the public, this theatre that received the greatest artists of its time is currently closed to the public, at booth by waiting for renovation. MINI THEATRE DU PANIER

Theater

Three years ago, the Mini-Theatre underwent significant transformations: renovation of the boxes and the technical grill. It is therefore in a technically more efficient and comfortable space that this small theatre of the shopping Cart welcomes artists and Spectators. In the image of La Wasteland, another wall theatre, located on the next number, with whom it shares the programming of the Lenche, the Mini reflects a cultural action associated with the life of the neighborhood. Theatres of entertainment, but also places of meetings with the public, dialogues with artistic teams, general rehearsals open to inhabitants of the 2nd arrondissement, moments of exchange on the essential issues that the show raises. When theatre creates a social link, it is often in these small places that are found by local troops. Same shirts for the Théâtre de Lenche, Wasteland du Panier and Mini-Théâtre. As the gauges are relatively small, reservations are strongly recommended.
