Day 1: Bari

Steps: Trapani, Castel Del Monte, Bari, Canosa Di Puglia

Visit the old town of Bari and its two most beautiful religious buildings: the Basilica of St. Nicholas and the Cathedral of San Sabino. At the end of the day, we will go to Castel del Monte to watch the sunset. Visit of the castle. Return to Bari via the cathedral of Trani, one of the most beautiful vestiges of Romanesque art in Puglia. Overnight stay in Bari.

Day 2: Alberobello

Steps: Alberobello, Locorotondo, Trulli

Walk in the city of the trulli. Observation of the trulli excursion to Locorotondo in the Itria Valley, about ten kilometers away. Overnight stay in Alberobello.

Day 3: Castellana Cave

Steps: Castellana Grotte, Santa Maria Di Leuca, Alberobello, Conversano

Departure in the afternoon for Castellana Grotte (the caves of Castellane). Visit of these caves (among the biggest in Europe) in about 2 hours. Late afternoon excursion to Conversano (10 km). Walk in the village. Night in Alberobello.

Day 4: Ostuni

Steps: Trapani, Alberobello, Ostuni, Cisternino, Gubbio

Departure fromAlberobello in the morning and arrival in Ostuni in the late morning. Visit of the cathedral and walk in the old town. Excursion to Cisternino in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Ostuni.

Day 5: Lecce - day 1

Steps: Lecce, Ostuni, Pistoia, Florence - Firenze

Departure for Ostuni in the morning. Arrival in Lecce in the early afternoon. Visit of the city(Piazza Sant'Oronzo, Piazza del Duomo and Santa Croce). Overnight stay in Lecce.

Day 6: Lecce - day 2

Steps: Lecce, Copertino, Potenza

Visit of the city (castle, churches Sant' Irene, Santa Chiara, San Nicolo e Cataldo, provincial museum). Stroll among the many palaces of the city. Excursion to Copertino. Second night in Lecce.

Day 7: Otranto

Steps: Bosa, Santa Maria Di Leuca, Lecce, Otranto, Castro

Departure from Lecce in the late morning. Arrival in Otranto in the afternoon. Walk around the city and visit of the cathedral. Excursions by boat to the caves from Castro Marina. Overnight stay in Otranto.

Day 8: Gallipoli

Steps: Trapani, Otranto, Gallipoli

Departure fromOtranto in the early morning. Arrival in Gallipoli at lunch time. Visit of the castle and the Chiesa della Purità. Walk around the promontory of the old town.

Day 9: Taranto

Steps: Pescara, Taranto

Sea bathing in Gallipolli and its beautiful beaches. Departure for Taranto in the early afternoon. Arrival in Taranto and visit of the National Archaeological Museum. Overnight stay in Taranto.

Day 10: Matera

Steps: Taranto, Grottaglie, Matera, Alba

Departure from Taranto at the end of the morning, with a detour to Grottaglie, city of ceramics. Arrival in Matera in the early afternoon. Visit of the religious buildings (cathedral, church of San Domenico). Late evening walk in the sassi. Overnight stay in Matera.

Day 11: Matera - day 2

Steps: Taranto, Matera

Visit to the museums: Ridola National Museum, Palazzo Lanfranchi. At 4 km on the road to Taranto, excursion to the rock churches. Another night in Matera.

Day 12: Melfi - day 1

Steps: Melfi, Matera

Departure from Matera in the afternoon to arrive in Melfi in the early evening (140 km separates the two cities). Visit of the castle and the cathedral. Overnight stay in Melfi.

Day 13: Melfi - day 2

Steps: Trapani, Melfi, Venosa

Morning stroll in the old town. Excursion to the archaeological park of Venosa in the afternoon. Second night in Melfi.

Day 14: Castel del Monte

Steps: Castel Del Monte, Trani, Melfi

Departure from Melfi early in the morning. Arrival at Castel del Monte at lunchtime. Visit of the castle. Departure for Trani (approx. 20 km). Night in Trani.

Day 15: Trani

Steps: Trapani, Bari

Visit of the cathedral. Walk in the old town. Return to Bari in the afternoon.
