The Black Woods Mountain Mountain Bike Area and the Black Woods Mountain Club organize every year, every last Sunday in June, the Bois Noir Oxygen whose starting point travels within Space over the years. It is a hike that breaks into several circuits with a raid of about 75 km and several courses for all levels, different from year to year, 15, 25 and 35 km.

Vélocio has been around for over 100 years. Several routes are on offer, ranging from 30 to 95 km. On the program: on closed roads, a 12 km climb in modo chrono or a hike uphill. The program attracts around a hundred cycling enthusiasts, who set off on the slope of the famous Col de la République, at the summit of which stands a monument to the memory of Paul de Vivie (1853-1930), a leading figure in French cycle touring nicknamed... Vélocio. This event is open to all - some participants are over 80 years old! Come as you are, trained or not, retro or not, on a bike, a unicycle or an electric bike - the only thing that counts is good humor. So saddle up!

In the town of Montarcher and La Chapelle-en-Lafaye, an orientation course invites you to test your resourcefulness. Free access and permanent, you just have to have a compass and buy the route map (€ 1) at the Saint Bonnet-le-Château Tourist Office or at the Info Point of Usson-en-Forez. You will find tags during your progression on the 7 km of the course. According to your level, four different channels of difficulty are available (green, blue, red and black). At your compasses!

Located on the northern area of Haut-drilling, the Lodge Pass is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts. The station offers 78 kilometres of marked cross-country ski slopes and four routes in snowshoes between 1 253 and 1 428 metres. Two of the routes in snowshoes are in the form of loops: " Le Bois de Migois " (4 km) and" Le Payanet " (6,5 km). The other two are in return: " La Pirouse " (4 km) and" Le " (11 km). The Piste trail also meets the loop of the Col de la Loge, a trail in 17 km long snowshoes that leaves the Ridges of Forez Nord.

At the start of the ski resort of Chalmazel, three routes of snowshoe walkers go into the snow. The easiest thing is the Squirrel circuit, a 3 km loop to travel in 1 h 30. The Fox circuit is in two Separable parts of one hour each. The first half of 2,9 km along the Lift lift. So you can do it on the rise and drop down in a lift or inversement to do just the descent. The second part links the arrival of the lift to Pierre-sur-Haute. This 2,5 km stretch is more difficult because the slope is steep enough. Finally, the Deer circuit is a more difficult route of 6 km spread over 220 metres of difference, to achieve in 3 h.

Six kilometres from the Village, Domaine de Burdignes offers 20 kilometres of marked Nordic ski trails and maintained throughout the winter. The four routes of difficulty start at the Maison de la Nature de La Faye. The green trail is 3 km long, the blue 5 km, the red 7 km and finally the black 8 km. These circuits are relatively short and can easily be combined. The area also offers discovery routes accessible in snowshoes, ranging from 3,4 km to 8,4 kilometres.

As every 11 November, Lieues Foréziennes offers you this race race at Bonson in the Loire. A nice opportunity to recharge batteries in full nature!

The Salon Tatou Juste has become a must-see event in the city. It attracts many exhibitors from Saint-Etienne and the surrounding area and a host of visitors who are fond of organic products and solutions for living together and in harmony with the environment. All fields are represented here: food, of course, but also modes of transport, education, construction, textiles, housing... Animations, practical workshops and activities for children are also organized. It is possible to spend the day there, several exhibitors offer small gourmet dishes for lunch. There is something for everyone, whatever their age or interests!

For over 10 years, this festival has been delighting lovers of Baroque music. Located in Saint-Bonnet-le-Château and the surrounding villages, it offers the chance to enjoy the great Baroque works performed by prestigious musicians. The various concerts take on a variety of forms, either in unusual locations or on walks. Prices are very affordable.

The Sainté Trail Urbain is a way to discover Saint-Étienne in a different way. Different activities are available: for example, routes of about 10 to 30 kilometres, a gourmet walk, an open-air walk or a Nordic walk. The aim is to welcome the widest possible audience, of all ages, whether trained or not. The tours allow you to explore different parts of the city, sometimes unusual and hidden. Thanks to these tours, participants discover large and sometimes unknown parks of greenery, they can also run along the mythical lawn of the Geoffroy Guichard stadium, or even cross the mine museum...

Adjacent to the brasserie of the same name, Le Méliès cinema screens films that you probably won't find in other cinemas in town. Independent and heritage cinema, films in VO, must-see films in VF... This venue screens 5 to 6 international feature-length films a week, and is a favorite with all cinephiles. Le Méliès is also two cinemas, offering twice as many screenings: the largest is located on Place Jean Jaurès, with 4 screens, and the other in the Saint-François district (bonus: a room with a balcony!). It is also one of the few cinemas to offer solidarity tickets for people on low incomes.

Adela Coman-Trambouze has created an associative exhibition space under the arcades of the Hôtel de Ville. She invites artists, designers, creators of all kinds to exhibit their creations in order to test them with the public, hence the name laboratory. Thus, going to this place is always a surprise. The exhibitions change almost every week and you never know what to expect. Do not hesitate to visit and revisit this laboratory rich in surprises!

The Carrefour des Collectionneurs was created in 1987 by the Chambre économique de Saint-Étienne to show the collections to visitors and discuss these passions. Since 1989, the event has been organized by the association of the carrefour des Collectionneurs. 70 exhibitors from all over France come to present their collection. The latter are very varied, from the most classic to the most unusual: primers, thermometers, TSF stations in bakelite, 1/43 cars, ASSE, footrests, Urals glassware, billiard balls, Casino catalogues, jokes about papillotes..

The BWd12 festival, which takes place every year in the green theatre of the Château de Saint-Victor, is the best way to discover chamber music in a spirit of pleasure. The amphitheatre is a perfect venue for this event because of its size, acoustics, visibility and magnificent views of the Loire. All the conditions are there to listen, play and share music. For the past 12 years, this event has become a must for summer evenings in the Loire Gorges.

The festival Les Oreilles en Pointe has been in existence for almost 30 years, it is the oldest song event in the Saint-Etienne region. Concerts scattered over several communes and halls in Ondaine are organised. The festival is focused on the discovery of new talent. More than 570 artists have performed here, workshops and festive events around the concerts are offered. This event highlights little-known or poorly known artists. The complete list of artists and their agenda are available on the website. So many French-speaking talents to discover or rediscover in the context of a very friendly festival.

Canal Round returns on August 5 th! This year, men, women and children are invited to participate in the event, and everyone will be given its own course: 6,3 km for ladies, 9,4 km for gentlemen, and 800 m to 1 600 m for herbe. The itinerary? A flat and well-rolling circuit on the banks of the Canal canal in Digoin. Among friends or family, put you also the trainers, and belong to some 450 athletes expected that day!

Built in 1830 to facilitate the transport of goods, the canal from Roanne to Digoin is now dedicated to tourism. In summer, its waters are filled with barges and pleasure boats, while its shores are filled with cyclists and walkers. From Roanne, you can go north as long as you like by following the canal towpath. Here are some examples of easy routes: count 40 minutes to reach Mably and 1h30 to reach Pouilly-sur-Charlieu. Enough to enjoy a pleasant family walk.

Maintes et une fois is a clown and puppet theater based in Saint-Étienne, France. Founded in 2003 by Gérald and Marlou, the company offers a variety of workshops and courses focusing on the clowning world. It also stages shows for all audiences, from young audiences to themed shows and street performances. The company also takes part in symposiums and conferences, giving offbeat presentations. Audiences are always amazed by the company's creations. La compagnie Maintes et une fois is a must for fans of theater and original shows in Saint-Étienne.

A not-to-be-missed event on the electro scene, the Nuits Sonores! These nationwide events take place in Lyon. But for one evening (or rather one night, as the concerts always start at 10pm!), fans of the genre were able to enjoy an original program in the capital of the Loire! Enthusiasts and even the less-initiated flocked to Le Fil to attend a series of richly-sounding concerts. Pure electro as we like it, with a variety of rhythms, styles and cultures. The Sainté Color is a foot race to be done in a joyful and good mood, preferably colored! On a 5 km course between the Étivallière Stadium and the François Mitterrand Park, the participants run on a course punctuated by non-toxic colored powder. Every kilometer, the public encourages the participants by throwing them the famous powder. Crazy atmosphere guaranteed! No timing, just the pleasure of doing sports in a festive way. To close the day in beauty, a free concert is given in the park.

The cultural space created by metal sculptor Stéphane Caniard aims to showcase contemporary artistic creations. A number of artists take up residencies here, followed by exhibitions of intimate or monumental works. Painting, sculpture, photography: a wide range of artistic expressions find their place within the impressive volumes of Flux Libre. The idea here is not to offer a gallery to sell works, but to showcase artists and introduce them to the curious and the amateur.
