FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE

Born in 1982 at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, the Fête de la Musique is today one of the most important events in Saint-Etienne as well as in all of France! During one day and especially during one evening, music resounds in the streets, invades the squares and the kiosks, celebrating in the most beautiful way the arrival of summer. All you have to do is join the crowd of Stéphanois circulating in the city center and listen to the music. Whatever your favorite style of music, you are bound to find what you are looking for: classical and symphonic music, jazz, French songs, hip-hop and rap, techno, house, rock and punk, reggae and world music, electro... We can mention the podium of the place Jean-Jaurès, one of the key places of this evening in the city center. We can also recommend the excellent stages of the Mine des sons, in the Mine museum, and of the Cartonnerie, near Carnot. Enough to go through Saint-Etienne ! We can also remember that the city of Firminy proposes every year a concert at the place du Breuil with a real headliner, always of great quality: Rachid Taha, Sinsemilia, Sanseverino, Jacques Higelin, Thomas Fersen have followed one another over the years. A good way to start the evening.
