CHÂTEAU DE LA SELVE

Winery

The castle, located on the banks of the Chassezac, the main tributary of the Ardèche, will become a farm in the midst of a strong house and then a hunting relay of an illustrious family of Vivarais. Today led by Benoît and Florence Chazallon, the estate of 40 hectares, planted with 5 different varieties, in red, grenache, syrah, cinsault and cabernet sauvignon and, in white, viognite, is grown in organic, with Ecocert certification in 2008. A rosé is vinified in each range, the Audacious, I.G.P. Coteaux of Ardèche, direct pressing, syrah 50% syrah, 35% grenache, 10% cinsault and 5% viognite, I.G.P. Coteaux de l 'Ardèche, direct pressuring, 50% grenache, 30% cinsault, 20% syrah and a viognite tear, in that of the classics. Today six Gîtes de France, from 3 to 6 people, housed in a wing of the castle, in the middle of a large tree park, offer a haven of peace in the heart of the tourist Ardèche.

On the right bank of the Rhône, in the terraced territory of the prestigious AOP saint-joseph, this cooperative winery has been one of the great winegrowers since 1960. Its wines are made from Syrah grapes for reds, and Marsanne and Roussanne for whites. They also produce AOP Condrieu and Côtes-du-Rhône, and Vins de Pays d'Ardèche. After a fine tasting and educational tours of the vineyard and wine, and even of local biodiversity, follow the Domaine Rochevine discovery trail, 3 km up the hillside for total immersion and a panoramic view.

Open - Close to 18h30

The Mas d'Intras estate has been passed down through 4 generations and is now run by Denis Robert and Sébastien Pradal. A modest-sized operation that has opted for organic farming, the domaine produces some excellent red wines from the Ardèche region, including the famous Cuvée d'Alphonse, a fruity, full-bodied blend of Syrah and Merlot, and the Cuvée des Helviens, made with Grenache from old vines. There's also a studio for two, should you wish to continue your stay here.

The Dupré family welcomes you to their magnificent estate in the heart of the Ibie valley, with its 60 ha of vines! There's no soulless cellar here, just the authentic atmosphere of the workplace. On sale at the estate: the Cuvée Romain Côtes-du-Vivarais AOP red, matured in barrels, or a delightful IGP des Coteaux de l'Ardèche, not forgetting the Cuvée Mathilde, seven whites, one of which is mellow, and three rosés. The estate is making the transition to 100% organic! Once a month from June to August, enjoy "vinoelectro" evenings featuring foodtruck, wine and electro music!

DISTILLERIE JEAN GAUTHIER

Winery

The place deserves a detour: you can really spend one hour there, especially on the holiday route to keep kids busy and entertain the parents. The shop of the distillery outside the Musée de l'Alambic offers all the homemade range starting with the "classic " ones, the fruits spirits made with traditional know-how including a famous Williams pear, a great speciality of the firm without omitting the mirabelle, the raspberry or the old plum. Liqueurs, creams, aperitifs, griottines are also available as well as a new product to be discovered: the "Fifty-Fifty", a harmonious blend of spirit and liqueur to be used as digestive or cocktail. The distillery receives more than 150 000 visitors per year! And if you drop by around Christmas, you may have the chance to see Santa Claus appear paragliding (or on quad depending on the weather). This firm has truly become an institution in the Rhône Valley. If you come from Annonay, you just have to go down the valley towards the village of Champagne: it is a predestined name for hosting such a distillery and its museum.

Gérard Champetier took over the family farm in 1972 representing the fourth generation of the family in viticulture. Today, he is assisted by his son Richard, fifth generation. These winemakers welcome you on their land and in their cellar where you can discover the wines of a passionate and open family. The area covers about thirty hectares on the Beaulieu nipples. Vinification includes the husbandry. The cellar offers a fortnight's tricolorous vintage, which distinguishes itself by their individuality. The field stopped garlic production.

DOMAINE DE LA CROIX BLANCHE

Winery

In the heart of the village, Daniel Archambault presents his wines. The whites make up 5% of his production, including an aromatic "viognier marsanne" of great value. Syrah lovers will appreciate a 100% rosé! For the reds, the Cuvée Prestige, aged in oak barrels, and the Cuvée Vieilles Vignes caught our attention. The wines are also available to order online. The plus : possibility to book (4 people minimum) a brunch in the vineyard !

CHÂTEAU LES AMOUREUSES

Winery

The estate of Château des Amoureuses changed hands in 2011 and was taken over by Jean-Pierre and Florence Bedel to produce exceptional wines. The estate, located on the right bank of the Rhône, south of Bourg-Saint-Andéol, their hometown, has been undergoing a wind of renewal ever since. Jean-Michel Novelle, international consultant oenologist, is part of the adventure. The trio has rethought everything, from the 58-hectare vineyard to the winery. In the cellar, they have surrounded themselves with two young oenologists, Kristin Basson, originally from South Africa, and Claudia Gomez, originally from Chile.

DOMAINE BALTHAZAR

Winery

The reins of the Balthazar estate passed from father René to his son Franck in 2002, but the estate has kept its reputation as a producer of an authentic cornas. The 2 hectares of the estate have been in the family since the First World War, but the current plan has been a gradual expansion with about ten hectares planted over a five-year period. Despite everything, Franck keeps the traditional side of his father: here, no new barrels! It is a wine that needs to be forgotten in the cellar to flourish for a few years. Excellent quality/price ratio, particularly the 1999 vintage, which still remains one of the references. It's better to call before you come by.

DOMAINE DES TERRIERS

Winery

This former estate, taken over in 2017 by Benjamin Levère and Cyril Chamontin, will delight epicureans. Since March 2024, the entire estate has gone organic, and the typical grape varieties of the region are still present: syrah, serine, merlot, grenache, cabernet-sauvignon, viognier and chardonnay. Cinsault, in a rosé blend, is particularly appreciated during the hot summers of southern Ardèche! In high season, tastings are available at the cellar every day. You'll also find a selection of local products on the shelves.

LOUIS CHÈZE

Winery

Today, her vineyard is one of the pillars of the Seyssuel vineyard and spreads over 10 hectares, bringing out the best in Syrah. Caroline's Prestige cuvée, a selection of old vines, aged in oak barrels, is a delight. Domaine Chèze has even been making Condrieu for a few years. True to its origins, Louis Chèze also offers apricot nectar thanks to the few trees that escaped being uprooted. So if you are passing through the heights of the Rhone Valley, stop and fill up on the wine: a good choice awaits you.

DOMAINE CHABOUD - CELLIER

This house has double-level cellars dating from 1736. Stéphan is the sixth generation of winegrowers. The vines of Saint-Péray - 8 ha - and Côtes-du-Rhône are located on clayey-limestone soils, the cornas is located on granite hillsides. The surface area of the property is 13 ha. Stéphan offers no less than six vintages of Saint-Péray, including three still wines and four using the Champagne method. All the vintages are vinified and aged in vats. DOMAINE DU TUNNEL

Winery

Owner and harvester Stéphane Robert is a rigorous and conscientious winemaker who produces top-quality vins de pays d'Ardèche. The estate's name comes from the acquisition of a parcel of land in Saint-Péray, beneath which lies a 300 m-long disused railway tunnel. A range of white, rosé (in season) and red wines of different gustatory qualities, elaborated with research and great finesse. We can't recommend that you go and taste the wines, as you won't leave empty-handed. Their advice is invaluable for making the right choice of white wines, red wines, the best food pairings and vice versa. Stéphane and Sandrine Robert founded their domaine in 1994, and have mastered their subject. You'll find cornas, saint-joseph, saint-péray, among other AOC wines from the area.

DOMAINE COURBIS

Winery

There are more vines than inhabitants in this village of Châteaubourg! Here the Courbis brothers, Laurent and Dominique, make very nice wines to taste and discover. Their annual production of 160,000 bottles is divided between St-Joseph, Cornas, Crozes-Hermitage, St-Péray and IGP Syrah. The maturation in oak barrels gives the juices a particular personality. The wines are excellent and the prices high but... justified. They have no equal when it comes to giving you useful advice because they know their trade well and that is appreciated.
