COULEURS PAYSANNES
Read moreThis is a very active cooperative with more than a hundred members - cereal growers, market gardeners, breeders - and it also exists in Manosque and Valensole. No intermediaries, ultra-fresh products and flawless traceability at the same price as the producer. Demanding or committed customers can find seasonal fruit and vegetables, dairy and farm products, cold cuts and meats all year round. The approach being also locavore, nothing is produced more than 160 km away. In the fish section, sea bream, sea bass and tuna from La Seyne-sur-Mer are sold vacuum-packed to guarantee the freshness of the product. Practical and well-stocked, the grocery section offers honey, tapenades, olive oils, jams, dried fruits, fruit juices, beers and wines, and organic products. The bread is made by farmer-bakers with their own wheat and small spelt. In short, you can do almost all your shopping at Couleurs Paysannes, and even treat yourself with a bouquet of flowers. Easy to access, the building is well visible from the avenue de La Grande-Bégude, which connects the center of Venelles to the Logissons. The welcome is smiling, the parking is free and every Friday and Saturday, producers come to present their products
LE MAS DES CHÈVRES
Read moreIt's hard to make a choice as the range of products made here is so wide: fresh, creamy, semi-dry and dry cheeses, fancy cheeses, but also faisselles, white cheeses, whipped cheeses, two-taste pyramids, logs, tommes, "camemberts", grated and shaved goat's milk, that's quite a selection! About fifty goats raised on the 4 hectares of Agnès Gaffet's family farmhouse provide the necessary milk, processed on site. In tune with the times, the goat farmer has created a drive to pick up her order (at the farmhouse or at a market).

GAEC CHIARI
Read moreThe Chiari family raises, not far from the village, a herd of goats from an alpine breed, the chamoisé, brown goats with a black line on their backs with whose milk they make fresh or matured cheeses. Plain or with garlic, thyme or rosemary, they are delicious! They also have organic Aubrac cows, lambs and pigs raised in the open air whose meat they sell vacuum-packed at the farm every Friday. The animals are fed with organic fodder from the property in winter and graze freely in the summer.
FROMAGERIE ROUMANILLE
Read moreFresh milk, just out of the cow's udder... No, we are not in Savoie, but in Saint-Rémy, a few kilometres from the centre in the direction of Maillane. At Mélanie Roumanille's farm, coming with her empty bottle to attend the 6pm milking has become a ritual for many Saint-Rémois. Just like in the old days! An opportunity to admire the Tarines (Savoyard cows), but also to leave with cheese, faisselles, yoghurts and ice cream. Moreover, everything is organic! And a big plus for the kindness and welcome of the owners.

CHEZ EMILY
Read moreEmily is a sparkling young woman who has turned her little store on rue de la République into the temple of cheese. You can find goat's milk cheese, Termignon blue cheese, tomme with blueberry flowers... the choice is quite impressive. In addition, Emily has a gift for presentation: she always adds fresh flowers and dried fruits to embellish the cheeses. She even makes pièces montées! It seems that the English actor Hugh Grant has a habit there, but shhh! In any case, without being icons of the cinema, we really liked it.

It's a delightful store with a whiff of the terroir, the biquette and the green pastures. Nearly a hundred references in a rather large space that few cheese dairies in Marseille can boast. Expert, smiling advice from the owner. The loyal clientele since 2021 is not mistaken. Scrupulously selected French and foreign cheeses.
