PURA SADA
Read moreThis sanctuary dates back to the th century. After the defeat of the kingdom in 1891, it was abandoned. The earthquake of 1917 concluded to destroy it. It was restored in the 1950 s. The big bentar candy of the entrance is original. Now, there is a small side door in the first courtyard of the temple where there is a superb pavilion and many padmasana, lined behind three grand altars that would represent the captains of a boat carrying the ashes of an emperor of Mojopahit. The big-roof brick tower would talk about a crematory tower. Kapal is also renowned for its ceramics: look at Jati Agung.
SOURCES OF YEH SANIH
Read moreThey are very fresh, from the mountain to the heart of the village. You can take advantage of this during the big heat in the small complex planned for this purpose. The springs flow in pools and then sink into the sea. The basins are very clean and transparent water.
You can also enjoy a lunch or a drink in the warung which is inside the complex, the dishes are typically Indonesian (so spicy) because the population of the place is mostly local. You may cross a handful of tourists.

PURA TAMAN AYUN
Read moreLocated east of the great road, this temple is the second largest Balinese temple after that of Besakih. Founded in 1740, it is the work of Cokorda Munggu, the most famous king of Mwengi, who moved the seat of the kingdom of Kapal to Mengwi. The great monarch built another palace, Puri Gedé Mengwi a little distance from Pura Taman Ayu. The temple is surrounded by moat. Among the rows of altars where the gods come to visit at the ceremonies (palinggih), you will see the eastern oriented paibon which represents the royal altar. The size of the pavilions, their insertion into the great arrangement of the moat and terraces, the location and height of the méru, make Du Ayun one of the most beautiful Balinese temples.

SANGEH FOREST
Read moreFrom the temple of Taman Ayun, by continuing eastward and bifurquant north by Blakiuh (where a fantastic banyan was planted by the king of Mengwi), you join the Forêt Forest, which is also called the Sacred Monkey Forest (open all day, on donation).
The legend comes from the Ramayana where this forest would be cited: " Hanuman, head of the Monkey army, wanted to kill Rawana, Rama's great enemy, but on the way, he dropped a piece of the sacred mountain Mahameru, with his monkey population, in Sangeh. When entering the forest, you also slip into the epic of the Ramayana. This splendid forest, where you can find a muscadiers wood, provides the freshness you need in the daytime. At the same time, she hides the many monkeys, who are very clever, who remove you from everything you need: glasses, hat, bag, camera, camera, etc. They are sometimes returned by the Balinese with a small sum of money.
At the centre of the forest, Pura Sari Sari's temple contains an interesting statue of Garuda.
