Karlsruhe Zoological Garden is a German zoo in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg. The zoo covers an area of around 9 hectares, in addition to 13 hectares of public gardens and 16 hectares of forest. There you can discover around 800 animals from 150 species. Karlsruhe Zoo was opened in 1865 and is one of the oldest zoos in Germany. DER BOTANISCHE UND ZOOLOGISCHE GARTEN WILHELMA

The Wilhelma Botanical and Zoological Garden dates back to the middle of the 19th century and was originally a Moorish garden created for King Wilhelm I. Today it is one of the largest zoological and botanical gardens in Europe and is home to more than 1,000 animal species from all over the world, such as rhinos, flamingos, tigers and polar bears. The 280,000 m² botanical park also has tree-lined paths as well as buildings and greenhouses in the neo-Moorish style.
