The kind of gourmet and original address that we are always happy to find. The concept is rather atypical: a restaurant room on a terrace only, shaded, sheltered and heated in cool weather. It is easier to understand why the place is closed in the middle of winter. In 2015, it received the labelTourisme de Terroir du Pays des bastides et vignobles du Gaillac for the quality of its cuisine, representing local gastronomy and associated with a strong collaboration with the winegrowers of the Gaillac region.The plate is generous and authentic, just like a bistro kitchen.

The restaurant Les Marronniers takes its name from the century-old chestnut trees in the village square. Here, Claudine and Jean-Luc Viala have been working for nearly thirty years in accordance with French gastronomic traditions and above all with the products of their region. Jean-Luc, in the kitchen, regularly changes his menu according to the seasons. Among other things, he offers you a hot foie gras with spicy wine and you can tell us about it! And this is only the beginning, because it is followed by a delicious old-fashioned duck confit, lamb sweetbreads with morels, veal kidneys in old wine, to finish with a generous frozen truffle in a nougatine basket and orange juice. Everything is of course cooked with the greatest care! This is normal, since Jean-Luc Viala is part of the Cuisineries Gourmandes. The carte blanche to the chef is accompanied by a different glass of wine depending on the dishes. The products are purchased at local markets. The interior room has been completely renovated, in chocolate, modern colours, decorated with original paintings and frescoes by local artists, and the terrace under the chestnut trees is still very pleasant. Very good rating for the welcome and service.

In their charming crèperie at the corner of the two streets, Diffal and his wife Faïza are proud to be Bretons from here! Zoé, a gray in Gabon, welcomes you with the nerve of all parrots, the accordion or the piano tickling your ears. In this street below the cathedral square you will find a map of crèpes and specialities from the Tarn. The red brick room is below. The complete galette (egg, fomage, mushroom, ham) or the cassoulet of the Reyssaguel farm are excellent.

Daniel Pestre is at the head of a business with a pretty terrace and a gourmet cuisine. Daniel, best sommelier in France in 2004, and his team will help you discover the hidden treasures of the Gaillac vineyard - and elsewhere - with the Domaine d'Escausses, the Enclos des Roses or the Domaine des Terrisse. As for the plates, they are adorned with a thousand flavours and colours, for example: pumpkin and brown tatin with hazelnut caramel, piece of duck breast piqué with pink ginger, trout fillet and steamed prawns, Liège chocolate from the Chef....

The atmosphere is a clever mix of contemporary and old, with an original menu and ever more generous dishes that highlight the region's producers. Chief Mustapha and his wife welcome you all year round, at lunchtime and in the evening, and will be able to satisfy the most difficult palates.
