DOMAINE BURCKEL-JUNG

Winery
Closed

In 2005 David joined the family farm of 13 ha at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile. His great-grandfather was a winegrower but also a herbalist and, for God's sake, David cannot lie, he makes his own decoctions of plants for his vines... The estate is AB certified and is currently undergoing biodynamic Demeter conversion. Sulphur is used sparingly and, to limit inputs, the grapes are harvested at maturity. On the south-facing Winkel in Heiligenstein, the estate grows sylvaner, a grape variety generally underestimated in Alsace, but which is nonetheless perfectly suited to it. The aromatic grape varieties come from the Hoell area, a clay-siliceous area. Riesling and Pinot Gris are grown on the Grand Cru Moenchberg terroir. The estate also vinifies other Alsatian grape varieties such as Klevener de Heiligenstein and produces a fine range of Crémant d'Alsace. Every Thursday at 5.30 pm, from June to September, David invites you to discover the vineyard and the cellar followed by a tasting and a light snack. Duration: approximately 2 hours. Registration directly at the estate or at the Barr Tourist Office (✆ 03 88 08 66 65).

MONOPRIX KLÉBER

Decoration store
3.2/5
9 reviews

The diamond brand has always made the difference with the other brands in the downtown, it is a store that we like for its human size, the offered services and the quality of its products. Monoprix, near the Kleber place, still seduces us at first sight, with its revamped storefronts and its new beauty section -very beautiful for once- upon entering the store. The female textile is on the ground floor, enhanced by nice quality collections (cashmere, linen, silk); just like the lingerie, the really nice leather goods and the accessories that are always trendy. As for decoration, linens and kitchenware, there is enough, and also those of the season (especially for Christmas for gifts). On the first level, a newspaper magazine shelf. Finally we go there for quality and freshness of its products, often innovative, it is of course the food department in the basement. Everything is well presented there, we almost feel like going to shop at the grocery store in our neighborhood! And not expensive than elsewhere as for everyday consumer products... convenient, we do not waste the time there... if it is needed we leave with light arms: after making our purchases, we pay at the cash desk and they will be delivered to us at home.
