DOMAINE MOSBACH
Read moreThe Mosbachs have been winegrowers since 1577. At the head of this 23 ha estate, Jean-Marie and Paul perpetuate the family tradition. Their vineyard is south facing and benefits from all the conditions that are favorable for an early flowering of the vine and a slow maturation of the grapes. The reputation of this domain is made on the pinot noirs vinified in red and in rosé. A visit to their cellar, with a capacity of 3,500 hectoliters, is worthwhile, as you will notice some beautiful oak barrels from the 19th century.

Read moreJean-Marie Bechtold is at the head of this 12-hectare farm, which has been certified organic since 2010. Part of his parcels are cultivated in the Grand Cru Engelberg, a rare terroir of oolitic limestone. A disused quarry that cuts through the hillside provides a glimpse: over a depth of 30 meters, the geological strata constitute an exceptional terroir. If the Rieslings coming from the Grand Cru Engelberg are famous, another terroir is interesting: the place called Obere Hund, very favorable to excellent Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir.

Read moreSince 1888, this family business has been transforming fruit into drinks and bottling them. It diversified its range in 1953 by creating fruit juices. Today, more than forty products are offered: pure juices (apple, grape, pear, apple-mango, apple-quince...), organic juices (organic tomato, beet, blueberry...), based on concentrate, nectars, syrups and cider with fruits coming from Alsace, processed on the spot and sold in the store. You can drop off apples and leave with juice and cider, at a preferential rate.

UNICORN BREWERY

And water is a main element to make good beer, so obviously, what a wonderful place to set up a brewery! The structure was founded in the 18th century and was taken over in 1845 by the Schweickhardt family. From a craft brewery, it became an industrial brewery and since 1989 has been part of the Karlsberg Group. Today, the Licorne brewery is constantly innovating to offer you new beverages in all its ranges.

Read moreIt is Arthur Ostertag, son of André (a very talented winegrower and poet at heart) who has been running the 15 hectares of this beautiful family estate since 2018, which has been biodynamic since 1998. The vines are mainly planted in Epfig (plots on the so-called Fronholz and Pflanzer sites) where the estate is established, but also in Itterswiller, Albé, Ribeauvillé (Clos Mathis) and Nothalten (Grand Cru Muenchberg, Zellberg and Heissenberg sites). Arthur Ostertag passionately makes spontaneous, precise and pure wines, with a predilection for pinot noir (Les Jardins Ostertag 2018 is a little marvel). During your visit (by appointment), he will also be pleased to offer you a tasting of L'Exutoire 2017 (a blend of Riesling and Sylvaner) and the Riesling Grand Cru Muenchberg 2018 (great mineral finesse). Ostertag wines are enjoyed by oenophiles all over the world and are adorned with labels designed by Arthur's mother, the painter Christine Colin.

These excellent vintages, such as the Pinot Noir 2020, which won a silver medal at the Colmar competition in 2021, can be purchased on site.
