Jarras is a sandy vineyard steeped in history. This estate produces a unique wine, made from vines planted in the sands of the Camargue. The Casa del Sol Cellar has changed its place. You will now find it Channel Road, but what persists, on the other hand, is the quality of the reception and the relevance of the advice you will receive. You will always find wines from countries, from costières-de-nîmes but above all from the wines of the Château Bolchet domain, with a beautiful novelty this year, a white wine based on Grenache and Roussanne (5,90 € the bottle). Ask a wine lover who is a wine merchant in town, he is very likely to give you the name of this shop, located at the very beginning of Racine Street, on the back of the Square of Art. We feel that the former manager of the chain vineyard, Nicolas, located at 100 m, wanted to be pleased by opening his own cellar to offer the wines that are attractive to him. Result: a pleasant range, mainly oriented towards the slopes of the Languedoc. A few costières and organic wines at reasonable prices are also on the cardboard, in the centre of the small shop. On the shelves, we touch the more famous Languedoc crus, the whites of Alsace, some bottles of the South-west, and especially one of the finest collections of sorts of whiskies on Nîmes: Scottish, of course, but also Irish, American, Breton and even Japanese. The last wine seller present at the Halles after the departure of Lucullus (also read), Bachan'Halles offers wines from two different cellars in bulk and a selection of costières and côtes-du-rhône. Mediterranean grape varieties - Grenache noir, Carignan and Syrah for reds and rosés, Grenache blanc and Viognier for whites - are used to produce AOP Duché d'Uzès. Extra-meridional varieties, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for reds, Chardonnay and Sauvignon for whites, are used to make IGP Coteaux du Pont du Gard wines.

This characterful terroir brings power and elegance to the Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Viognier and Chardonnay grape varieties that make it up and flourish here. The vineyard's privileged geographical location enables it to produce a wide variety of appellations: IGP Pays d'Oc, IGP Cévennes and AOP Duché d'Uzès. Founded in 1914, it is one of the oldest wineries in the region. The 85 or so cooperative members, working on some 500 hectares, all have the same objective: quality. The cellar offers a wide choice of vins de pays d'Oc, vins de pays du Gard and Costières de Nîmes, with Merlot, Grenache and Carignan for the reds, and Sauvignon and Colombard for the whites. Bulk wines are also available, including bag-in-box, and a number of cuvées such as Cuvée Goya. Finally, quality products such as Beaucaire olive oil, honey and fruit juices.

On a favourite terroir, in Nîmes, Marcel Hermann cultivates 45 hectares of old vines. Harvested with art (small yields of 15 hl to 40 hl/ha), these old vines give very typical wines with evocative names: the red AOC Lauzières, the red AOC Sabines, aged in barrels. The cuvée Calice, made from a very old Grenache with a very low yield and a long maturation period, is a pure wonder of the highest quality. Don't hesitate to discover the entry-level cuvée "À l'improviste" for whites, rosés and reds of a very good quality-price ratio.

It's here, in the heart of the Petite Camargue, where the 30-hectare Mas du Notaire vineyards give birth to exceptional wines with sun-drenched southern aromas. Built in the middle of the ^19th century, this estate rests on a unique soil, carpeted with rolled pebbles, swept by the impetuous Mistral winds and reddened by the sun. Le Clos des Américains has come a long way: after being devastated by phylloxera in the ^19th century, the majority of winegrowing estates were saved by introducing more resistant American rootstocks. Le Clos des Américains takes its name from this event. Today, the wines of Bruno François and Pierre Villebrun are finely composed of syrah, grenache and cinsault. Quietude and southern charm in the midst of the vines will punctuate your visit between Nîmes, Arles and Montpellier, between the Cévennes and the Mediterranean, in the sunshine under the song of the cicadas.

Domaine du Petit-Chaumont covers 120 hectares in the Aire des Sables area, facing Lac du Ponant. In a spirit of respect for nature, Brigitte and Nathalie have opted for organic farming, obtaining the AB label in 2011. Their know-how, both in growing the vines and handling the grapes, enables them to produce wines bursting with sugar and sunshine, quality and prestige beverages, with the Nef Saint-Louis range, the Flamants series and the Prestige cuvées.

This estate combines vineyards, wine tourism and art. This is a historic estate - there are traces of vines dating back to the 12th^century (L'Ermitage used to offer wine to pilgrims on their way to Compostela). The first winery dates back to the ^18th century. Today, the fourth generation of the Castillon family is at the helm of the estate, dedicated to producing an excellent Costières de Nîmes in three colors, biodynamic and organic, cultivated with aromatherapy. The three colors of wine are produced with grape varieties of great renown. And the two winegrowers have several appellations: IGP Cévennes and AOP Duché d'Uzès. The "Picheral" estate is located in Mus, a small village in the south of France. A family of winegrowers who, since the ^15th century, have passed on their passion and authenticity for the Gard terroir from father to son. Lionel Rampon is the ^16th generation to cultivate and vinify the 20 hectares of vines planted in the Cévennes countryside. Controlled yields and cool summer nights allow the vines to express their full aromatic potential. Domaine Sainte-Octime also offers the possibility of renting a reception room and a ten-bed gîte for one or more nights.

A true island of Camargue nature spread over 39 hectares, the Grand Corbière estate recently changed its name to Domaine Terres de Sable. But it is still a major sand wine production site. This mythical estate was taken over in 2019 by the Leygue family, passionate about the subject, who dreamed of owning their own estate. It is thanks to a very fertile soil, made of siliceous sands, limestone and thanks to a marine micro-climate, that the grapes can ripen in this unique natural environment in France.

Here you can drink or make! The workshop offers its own organic craft beers created with local produce, but brewer Edward Orton also teaches the art of brewing through one-day courses. Although the course is merely an introduction, it covers all the practical stages and the theoretical outlines of production. You can come back and pick up one to three kegs of the beer you've brewed a month or so later, and in all cases the day ends with a tasting session. The beers are smooth and original.

In the land of pebbles mixed with yellow sand and red clay, the Clément estate has been producing and vinifying beautifully expressed red and rosé wines in the Costières de Nîmes appellation for four generations. Benoîte Guigon Boucoiran, who runs the family estate, has improved the quality of the wines produced by creating vintages in the manner of an expert in oenology. In 1936, the grandfather came down from the Cévennes with his herd of goats in search of a mas. He arrived at Saint-Nazaire-des-Gardies and saw a large, hundred-year-old oak tree near the Mas des Cabrières. He decided to stop there and when he woke up, his goats refused to get back on the road because of the summer heat. He walked up to the farmhouse and met the owner, who offered him a glass of wine and the chance to sell him the place. Since that day, and now for 5 generations, the Pitot family has worked the vines.

Les Vignerons des Capitelles at the cellar in Euzet offer a full range of red wines IGP Gard, IGP Cévennes, AOC Duché d'Uzès, IGP Oc in white, rosé and red varieties. Created in 2001, Nicole and Alain Prunet's vineyard is cultivated entirely in organic farming, in clay-limestone soils on the hillside. Their son Lionel works on structured products, top-of-the-range wines, based on a "symphony of grape varieties", traditional vinification and small yields. The Lirac, Côtes du Rhône and Vin de Pays du Gard appellations are made from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Carignan, Merlot, Chardonnay, Clairette, Sauvignon and Bourboulenc grapes.

The Lirac appellation covers 4 communes, Lirac, Saint-Géniès-de-Comolas, Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres and Roquemaure, which represents barely 750 hectares of vines. The slopes of the Lirac AOC are planted in a scrubland, bathed in sunlight, which concentrates the fragrances in the berries. The terroir, a mixture of limestone, siliceous and sandy soils, gives these wines a powerful and fine side. The estate is located at the foot of the Cevennes mountains, in a natural environment conducive to the cultivation of vines and the production of high quality wine. Owned by the Fesquet family for over a century, the estate produces wines from the Cévennes and Languedoc regions with great character. Welcome to the Domaine Chanoine Rambert, in the heart of the Cèze valley! Maison Sinnae is the new name for the renowned Laudun-Chusclan, which brings together 200 cooperative winegrowers. This change took place in 2019 for a vineyard that wants to reconnect with its Gallo-Roman past. During the summer months, a stop at this bachique space is all the more justified as you can wander around the surrounding area and take advantage of the various events on the calendar, including afterwork aperitifs, tasting or gastronomic evenings, or even concerts. The estate offers two names depending on the range: Mas Montel for Pays d'Oc wines, Mas Granier for AOC Coteaux du Languedoc. Manduel, which has other domains to discover, has nevertheless found its master. It must be said that the Marès family is well versed in wine production. Cyril has been to the United States and Chile but has not lost his attachment to the land where he was born. And his knowledge shapes small jewels in a narrow range that concentrates the aromas. The tradition cuvée is available in three colours, made of syrah and grenache for the red, roussanne, white grenache and viognier for the white or grenache, syrah and cinsault for the rosé.

Atypical in the heart of the Costières de Nîmes, Château Beaubois is atypical thanks to the microclimate it enjoys overlooking the Scamandre pond. A coastline on the edge of the sandy wines, but which does not have the superficiality of it while retaining a small iodized taste specific to wines facing the Mediterranean. The Beaubois terroir is exceptional and Fanny and François Boyer know how to get the best out of it by bringing the touch of modernity that their youth suggests. Owned by the same family for several decades, the Domaine de Roux covers some 20 hectares surrounding the Château de Roux, built in the 17th century by the ancestor of the current owners.
