Read moreThe church of Lavasina, also known as Notre Dame des Grâces, is a Catholic sanctuary located in the hamlet of Lavasina, in Brando, north of Bastia. It has become a spiritual Mecca and is sometimes referred to as "Corsica's Lourdes". Corsicans have been coming here for over three centuries to pray to the Virgin Mary, entrusting her with their intentions, trials and hopes. The sanctuary is located in an exceptional setting, just 7 km north of Bastia in the Cap Corse, with a breathtaking view over the Mediterranean. The Lavasina sanctuary is a quiet, peaceful place of prayer all year round, where visitors can find comfort and spirituality.
