Nestled inland on the eastern coast, island sculptor Véronique Gabrielli's garden has evolved over the years into a vast artistic bestiary of monumental sculptures. A veritable fantasy landscape evoking Burton and Monet, this exhibition park is open all year round. In summer, it becomes a scenic space combining theater and music. For the occasion, actor Aurélien Gabrielli, Véronique's son, and his former colleagues from the CNSDP stage a play from the repertory, to the delight of festival-goers.

This year, Île Rousse is hosting these three days of intensive racing, more than 225 km of events. The opportunity to explore splendid landscapes to discover Balagne, such as the unmissable Notre Dame de la Serra and its magnificent panorama of the city of Calvi.

During the first half of August, the Fiera di u Pane (Bread Fair) is held in Lumio. As a staple food in Corsica as elsewhere, bread is celebrated in a warm and welcoming summer setting. On the programme: farmers and bakers will talk about their passion and demonstrate their know-how, there will be concerts and entertainment for the youngest. It will also be an opportunity to try making bread on site. A moment to enjoy!

It is in Balagne and more precisely in Ile Rousse, located in its heart, that will take place the festival of cycling and mountain biking with the final round of the French Cup Enduro MTB. This race, which brings together 400 pilots, is the result of a partnership between the Intercommunal Office of Tourism Isula and the club Muntagna Bikes Balagne created in 2019. There are already more than 200 kilometers of routes that have been traced in the beautiful landscapes of the Balagne. A stage not to be missed that can even be done with the family!

Every Friday of the season, discover Corsican singing in all its forms, from polyphony (singing for three voices) to traditional singing accompanied by guitar, the whole range of emotions in a place that lends itself to it.

On August 15th, to pay homage to the Holy Virgin, in Nonza, but also in many Corsican villages and even in town, the inhabitants have the tradition of lighting their windows and doors with candles. In addition, there is a procession with lanterns behind the statue of the Virgin carried by men through the village before returning to the church of Sainte-Julie de Nonza or elsewhere for the processions of other villages. It is always a magical sight to see the small flickering and moving flames that animate the streets.
