EN VRAC

Who remembers going to the grocery store to get wine by the tug-of-war with his bottles in a bottle holder? Here, it's simple: the customer arrives with his cubi or bottles, he fills them from the wine tank of his choice, most of them being organic. If he doesn't have any bottles, the house provides him with nice ones, designed on the model of the old lemonade bottles. They are returnable - the slogan of the place is "the return of the deposit" - as well as the cubes. Oenology courses and various events are organized here.

Installed since 1880 in the Galerie Vivienne, these Legrand - or Legrand Filles & Fils - cellars are an institution. However, don't be intimidated by the splendor, push open the door, and if you have a little time, take a seat at La Table des Caves for a bite to eat, or ask one of the sales clerks if you're looking for one or more bottles to offer or serve at your next dinner party. You're sure to find something to suit your taste from a selection of over 3,000 references. Organization of tasting workshops.

The Barav is a restaurant, a bar and a cellar. A small fine grocery store is filled with a few very well selected and high quality products. We will only talk about the cellar which has about 300 references from the vineyard of France and the world from 4 €… It is a cellar that moves: tasting 2 times a month, meetings with wine growers, exceptional operations, loyalty cards… It is kept by passionate people and must be guided by supplies.

WINE TOUCH

Philippe is a former executive in the IT. A grandson of winemakers and especially a passionate wine lover, he decides to take everything to dedicate himself to his passion. His approach is original: he conceives a space on two levels of 100 m2 entirely dedicated to wine tasting and, of course, for sale as at a winemaker. We are impressed by the stonewalling of machines where the distribution system allows the conservation of wine. About 200 references, including 80 to tasting, the choice is wide, surprising, and all the great wine regions are represented. To begin his trip, the visitor is given a registered magnetic card that he uses to select the desired wine. he then can get served of the desired dose - 3, 6 or 12 cl - to accompany the tasting of "cornets" of charcuterie or cheese and set up on a small bistrot table or in the living room corner. A smart system, since it is obviously only the dose chosen is paid thus and without abuse, allows to discover several wines by tasting. The choices of "cellar master" at the top of modernity for the concept, are often favourites, and always well-thought selections of safe values or novelties. Once a month, amateurs meet winemakers and tastings take place along with concerts. Philippe has arranged the space a little like the cellar of an individual. Wood, warm stones and copper combine beautifully to bring a warm atmosphere. The basement rooms are privatized.

DILETTANTES

Caviste

A cellar entirely dedicated to champagne! Fanny Heucq, the owner and daughter of a winegrower, has selected high quality champagnes from small farms which, for the most part, do not have access to large-scale distribution. In total, the work of more than 20 artisanal winemakers, whose know-how has nothing to envy the greatest, is honored here. For those who want to refine their knowledge of "fine bubbles", Dilettantes offers tastings and oenology workshops. It is possible to buy on the spot or on the website (about 130 references of local champagnes, plus those of the great houses).

The owners of the Rigmarole next door, Jessica Yang and Robert Compagnon, are also at the helm of Folderol, a crazy concept that's been all the rage for some time now. Here, Jessica, a former pastry chef at Guy Savoy, offers ice creams that are as surprising as they are delicious. While the repertoire still includes the great classics, the olive oil, cold brew and banana crème crue ice creams stand out. A glass of wine is available to accompany this refreshing break.

TOUS À LA CAVE

Caviste

A small neighborhood cellar filled like Ali Baba's cave. We love the friendly, open-minded advice from the owner. There's a great range of wines at all price points, and new discoveries to be made every week. What's more, the owner organizes a wide range of wine tastings, from Banyuls and Agenais to Côte du Luberon, Lillet Blanc and Côtes de Castillon. In his cellar, of course, are whiskies, eaux-de-vie, liqueurs, beers, aperitifs, crèmes de liqueurs and local produce.

An original merchant, but in his way: A little messy shop is a veritable cave of Ali Baba, full of treasures, that one cooks with the help of Philippe and Stéphane, from the small winemaker to the vineyard stars (Joblot, Lamarche, Forey, Bouchard father and son, Big brother and sister, DRC, Cuilleron, Gerin, Alphonse Melot, Château, Château-Myrat, Krug, Château-Myrat, Krug, Bollinger, Jablonski, etc.). Strategically located at the corner of rue Saint-Placide and rue du Cherche-Midi, this small (in terms of surface area) wine cellar is known for its cutting-edge selection, which combines wines from small producers and well-known estates. It is one of the five Parisian branches of Duvalet & Blanchet. At the helm is Clémentine who, when asked about her favorite vineyard, answers Languedoc for the reds and Burgundy for the whites. However, her selection includes wines from all the French wine regions. Regular and free tastings for wine lovers in search of new wines. Also on sale, some grocery products (rillettes...).

ICI-MÊME

Caviste

The initial idea was appealing: to create a space where an art gallery and a wine cellar coexist. In 2018, this project has finally refocused on the wine cellar, which also offers small restaurants. With success apparently, given the number of people seated when we passed in front of beautiful skittles accompanied by charcuterie, cheeses ... More than the head of gondola, Ici-Même favors the unknown nuggets, often produced in biodynamics. And at contained prices to please yourself more often. Also on sale are delicatessen products (terrines...).
