A canteen with simple, inspired cuisine at lunchtime, a meeting place all day and a lively bar in the evening, this bistro with its refined bohemian soul lives up to its name of "terre d'abondance" (land of plenty). EVA offers a unique virtual reality experience in Rennes! Equipped with a virtual reality headset and a connected rifle, two teams of 5 players face off in multiple ultra-realistic universes: space station, underwater base, glacier or even the planet Mars. You can communicate with your teammates to build a strategy. Each session lasts 40 minutes and is made up of several parts, giving you plenty of time to familiarize yourself with the game. EVA's special feature: the experience takes place in a 500^m2 arena^{in which} you can move around freely - in the jargon, this is called free roaming. Bluffing! Just be careful not to bump into another player! The more adventurous can opt for the Zombie experience for an extra touch of thrill.

La Comédie de Rennes is a brand new venue located in the Longs Champs area. Artistic director Nilson José is himself an actor and producer. The unique, intimate 120-seat venue offers a rich program for young audiences and adults alike. There's plenty of interactive comedy to keep things light-hearted. More than just a performance venue, the Comédie de Rennes offers improvisation and acting classes for all ages, led by professionals at very affordable rates. On the practical side, the venue has free parking, so you don't have to worry about parking in the evening.

A breeze from Asia blows across the rue Baudrairie, in the heart of Rennes. It's here that this Japanese café with an innovative concept has taken up residence: a matcha bar to discover or rediscover this green tea powder in all its forms. Known for its antioxidant virtues, matcha can sometimes be off-putting because of its bitterness. The variety selected here is one of the least bitter. But above all, the team redoubles its ingenuity to make people appreciate this Japanese specialty, served in drinks with fruit, in pastries... The chocolate fondant with matcha ganache is a delight. Lunchtime menus also include bentos and Japanese sandwiches.

Frédéric, from Quebec, and Julie, from Rennes, have foundedthis coffee shop featuring all the flavors of La Belle Province. Whether in the intimate wood-panelled room or on the terrace overlooking the passers-by on Rue Vasselot, you can enjoy a sparkling latte with maple syrup, a Saint-Laurent Oolong tea with walnuts and maple from their near-neighbors Tea & Cie , or a La Corsaire beer brewed in Levis, Quebec (Frédéric used to work there). In the kitchen, it's a team effort! Julie is in charge of pastries, concocting fluffy scones and ultra-tasty carrot cake. Frédéric is in charge of the savoury side, preparing three dishes every lunchtime with influences from here and abroad. On weekends, the restaurant serves brunch (we recommend the "assiette du bûcheron"!). And last but not least, Le Caribou offers Quebecois grocery products. Maple syrup, poutine sauce mix and ice cider are yours for the taking!

Now run by the Joli Collectif, who moved from the Théâtre de Poche d'Hédé-Bazouges to Saint-Jacques de La Lande, l'Aire Libre is a venue firmly rooted in its local area. Theater, music, dance, workshops, exhibitions... the multi-disciplinary program highlights hybrid, immersive forms that can't be seen anywhere else. Three highlights punctuate the season: the first focuses on living together, the second on youth, and the last on the international scene. Housed in a former ^12th-century church, the Théâtre du Vieux Saint-Etienne is one of those places that offers great freedom of artistic expression. The ciné-club of the University of Rennes 2 welcomes you every Wednesday for double film screenings organised by the Department of Performing Arts. Benefiting from all the modern comforts and a giant screen, the cinema allows to see in very good conditions films from a program ensuring a great diversity (great classics, darker films, documentaries...), partnerships with various associations as well as the Travelling festival. Outside the cinema club, live shows, concerts and conferences are held all year round to complete a programme that allows everyone to benefit from a professional cultural offer at very accessible prices.

The biggest karting circuit in the region is located in the town of Saint-Méloir-des-Ondes. It's an ideal place to have a good time and to enjoy strong sensations: we love it for sure. Located in the National Theater of Brittany, this cinema offers to the spectators to discover films of the whole world in VO with a clear preference for the cinema of author in all kinds. The program is of high quality and offers a number of different events (meetings, white cards, surprise films...). It is widely advised to follow the program attentively since, in addition to some unique screenings, the TNB cinema also offers retrospectives of certain directors by showing their complete works (in recent years: Kurosawa, Fassbinder, Ozu, Jarmusch... among others!). A marvel for the connoisseurs.

A breath of fresh air has been blowing through the Villejean district since the opening of this new, warm and intimate café-cantine. Come in the morning, with or without your computer, to enjoy a latte in the wide windows. At lunchtime, it's time to discover three seasonal dishes concocted by Lauranne and Margaux: savoury clafoutis, aubergine-mozzarella tart and mixed salad served with farmhouse bread. From the outset, the two friends - former work neighbors - chose to work with local producers such as Noel (Pacé), Café 1802 (Rennes) and Graine de Méliss for herbal teas (Hédé), as well as DurabL (bulk products) and En Boite le Plat. The gourmet desserts also change daily! A lovely address where you'll feel right at home.

Long gone are the days when people talked about Le Dejazey... Sébastien Gaudicheau and Axelle Hignard have truly reappropriated this legendary nightclub (right down to its name, with an amusing play on words). The counter of the Doujezu bar was built on the remains of the owner's Mercedes! The fluorescent fresco by artist Heol creates an electrifying atmosphere. At the bar, enjoy the excellent Doujezu home-brewed beer, brewed by Axelle herself. On the music front, rock and electro take pride of place with regular DJ sets and concerts, paying tribute to the venue's heritage as a veritable phoenix of Rennes nightlife!

When three long-time friends decide to launch a joint project in their own image, the result is Les trois marguerites, the new creative café on rue Saint-Melaine. And the least we can say is that they've put their personal touch to it! In a warm atmosphere, Nolwenn and Morgane are busy in the kitchen. They offer hot and cold drinks at all hours, accompanied by homemade pastries. Their specialty: the floral touch that makes all the difference. We tried the surprising flower tea and the tasty elderflower and poppy seed cake. Within the café, a boutique space showcases some fifteen eco-responsible designers. Jewelry, mugs, posters, lamps... and even origami made by Morgane.

The Wunder architecture agency helps professionals and private individuals design their spaces. It has been responsible for the design of many of Rennes' best-loved bars and restaurants. They have therefore masterfully imagined this new hybrid space on the agency's first floor: a co-working café. With its bright, cosy decor, the place lends itself to conviviality. You can have breakfast, lunch or even stay to work. A catering service is also available. At lunchtime, hot dishes, salads and soups await you. For dessert, we serve pastries such as our delicious lemon cake. All homemade and seasonal.

It's hard to get bored in this bar, which, in addition to its traditional hoppy drinks, also serves creative cocktails and mocktails, and an avalanche of board games (over 1,000!) to play with friends - or with strangers on lively evenings (various quizzes, discovery evenings...). You can also nibble, or even eat on the spot thanks to the in-house snack menu, or sip a cocktail or mocktail (without alcohol). In short, a friendly, convivial bar and a team of enthusiasts.

Open on Rue de la Parcheminerie, Gang combines exposed stone, rough concrete and pleasantly mismatched wooden furniture. Start the day with homemade granola or muffin bread served with fried egg, artisan ham and hollandaise sauce. At lunchtime, we go for the sabich, a typical Israeli street-food dish of grilled eggplant, white cabbage, soft-boiled egg, tzatziki and tahini sauce, all wrapped in pita bread. We like the fact that it's open all day, so you can sit down whenever you like to enjoy a specialty coffee and homemade pastry. It's also possible to order a cold brew, a lemonade or a take-away dish.

A guinguette full of animations and good mood is waiting for you. A festive place where multiple proposals follow one another such as laughter yoga, wooden games afternoons and especially shows. Dancing, laughing and having fun with DJs and dance sessions. As you can see, the whole family will find plenty of fun. In addition, a little hunger or a little thirst will be perfectly accompanied with the jars of La Cuisine de mon Père de Dinan made of fresh local products.

Olivier Sweboda (also manager of the Pause Attitude in Saint-Malo) and Mélanie Faille are at the head of this wine and beer bar in Dinard which combines a friendly and family atmosphere with good products. The place is warm and ideal for after works and aperitifs with greedy friends. The planks of cold cuts and cheeses will accompany a nice selection of wines and beers proposed to the customers. The musical animations make the place unique and carry us all in a good general atmosphere. Not to be missed!

La Mer à Boire has managed to give back to an old alcohol reserve of the Malouin shipowners of the 17th century its letters of nobility. Maxime Gauchet and his partner Pauline opened in December 2019, a charming place to enjoy, under the guidance of their sommelier Gaël, excellent glasses of wine. Around boards of cold cuts, cheeses or foie gras, the place, intimate will seduce the thirty and forty years old. Oysters and snails of Burgundy are also proposed. Nice place that should allow you to make nice discoveries.

A café-resto-bistro that invites you to travel, just across from the Sillon. An eco-responsible project matured for a few years by Morgane who proposes a place "where one feels good", immediately. On the lunch menu, recipes from around the world made with local products. Breakfasts, brunches and aperitifs are also on the menu. Exhibitions, concerts, debates and conferences are also scheduled. A touch of exoticism in Saint-Malo which already has its regulars and will quickly make others.

In 1998 the association La Bobine was created and allows the renovation of the «Grillon» room. The cinema then finds a beautiful place in Bréal-sous-Monfort. It is now 80 filmmaking volunteers who continue to live this art. Every year, more than 200 films are broadcast and they belong to all genres: general public films, art and essay films, documentaries, newsworks, festivals. It is true that everyone admires it with its programming for all audiences but of quality. It is true that this cinema gives the idea of what a cinema could be in a small town once rural with an essential word: conviviality. Here, you can still make a film in the home under the aegis of Jean-Luc Godard or François Truffaut. Exchanges between neighbors or between generations are warm and give the desire to return to the cinema! The Bobine offers a varied program. In this cinema, public movies, art and essays, documentaries followed by stakeholders, festivals, theme evenings, high school sessions in the cinema… This is done in very good conditions with a digital sound. A big boost to the volunteer team that animates this cinema with determination and magic! Do a survey of the accents, they keep their room, and would not swim in the popcorn in a multiplex where the place is twice as expensive! A real little paradise!

Perfect for a drink with friends, it is the bar of friends and openings in which one remakes the world and one speaks about art, by the means of the many exposures which it lodges. A warm welcome, good wines and a nice tapas menu for the aperitif, constantly renewed if not for its fish acras, speciality of the establishment. And because it is also a restaurant, you can eat good small dishes there midday and evening. Obvious place to drink its small kawa at the exit of the metro, it takes advantage of the recent reopening of the place Saint-Germain to develop again its terrace. A small quiet estaminet which breathes serenity and good mood.

In a TV set atmosphere, armed with your buzzers, you face your opponents alone or in teams on general knowledge questions chosen according to the age and interests of the participants. You can also try the delicious snack octopus. As for the vegetables, they come partly from the vegetable garden shared with the Rennes restaurant Bercail. As for the wine, the choice is vast, but the expert advice helps us to find the perfect match. An ethical and relaxed address where you can enjoy lingering in a friendly atmosphere.

Close to Rennes and easy to reach, this new Cineville is located in a new and comprehensive leisure area (Loopiland, Upper Avenue, Level 3...) with three restaurants nearby. The cinema has a small, open-access room for viewing trailers, and six screens with seating for 86 to 408 people. The largest has a 22 m wide screen - the largest in the Rennes area. Each has the same level of comfort, with wide, comfortable armchairs with ergonomic headrests and plenty of room for your feet. We also love the duo armchairs for couples! A cozy place to get away from it all.

La musette enjoys a remarkable location along the banks of the Vilaine. This barge-bar offers a relaxed, cheerful and friendly atmosphere. A new address has opened on rue de Montfort. In a cosy space, Victor, the manager of this café-restaurant, offers quality street-food inspired by American coffee-shops. After gaining experience in traditional restaurants, the young man opened this establishment with its uncluttered decor punctuated by pastel-blue hues. The café-canteen atmosphere at lunchtime offers gourmet sandwiches made with challah bread, a lightly sweetened brioche loaf, and seasonal produce selected from local markets. Specialty coffees are available at all hours, accompanied by pastries (cookies, carrot cake, cheesecake, granola...). Yummy!

Since 1971, this place has transcended generations of lovers of poker, billiards, video games and above all... bowling thanks to its sixteen lanes adapted for young and old (on this subject, you can also take courses to improve your performance, or even practice in a club!). Both a coffee shop and a concept store, Chérie Chéri is one of the trendiest places in Rennes. People come here to chat with friends, but also with their daughters or grandmothers. After all, it's a trans-generational place, and one that's much sought-after by women. Dressed in powder pink, 70's orange and spruce green, it boasts fifteen tables, comfortable banquettes and a short, healthy menu. Already owners of the excellent Marquis de Sade, Seb and Alain have gone to great lengths to create the Overlook, a reference to the hotel bar of the same name in Stanley Kubrick's famous Shining. We applaud the superb reproduction of the bar and the sense of detail brought through the winks scattered in the establishment. However, it is in no way a museum or a theme bar: beyond its classy setting, the Overlook cultivates the atmosphere of a neighborhood bar as we like them, where we like to meet, sympathize at the counter and exchange around a drink. Concerts and DJ sets are organized and you can eat there some evenings via a shared kitchen concept.

Just to see the little train going around the room to distribute the shooters to the customers, it's already a good opportunity to go there. Ideally located just a step away from the Saint-Michel street, the Cactus is a bar regularly taken by storm around 1am by a clientele not really in a hurry to go to bed. It is also generally the meeting place for night owls who have been meeting there for many years for its vast basement room and its numerous theme nights, concerts and student parties. The bar was taken over in 2022 by the former owners of Mimo's who wanted to keep its spirit intact while increasing the opening hours.

La Piste, as its name suggests, is a place where you can see the signature of Jean-Louis Serre, the now famous creator of convivial spaces in Rennes. La Piste stretches out on the François-Mitterrand Mall, right in a ray of sunshine that lasts until the last light of the day, despite the fact that customers occupy one of the 130 seats on the terrace. Retro chic atmosphere, vintage atmosphere around the world of bikes, large wooden counter and subdued lights, these are its components. The terrace is shared with its twin establishment, the bar's food counterpart, dedicated to street food. And for even more conviviality: communal tables to mingle as in any quality neighbourhood bar, and Breton shuffleboard available at the bar. In addition, a petanque court is next to the terrace.
