Located on the outskirts of Rennes, Cabaret Moustache likes to surprise us, and knows how to innovate to renew its shows, each one more extravagant than the last. After "Eizh" and its eight (!) deadly sins, "Open" is set to push the boundaries even further. Each season takes us into a fairytale world of ultra-modern tableaux with all the ingredients for success: feathers, rhinestones and nude dancers, all orchestrated with glamour! Dancers, singers, transformers, circus artists and magicians take us far and wide. Although it's possible to attend the show without the meal, we recommend you take in the whole experience!

The Arvor cinema has been given a makeover in early 2021 by moving into one of the three Identity towers located directly next to the train station. It now has 5 rooms, the largest of which can accommodate up to 340 spectators. While keeping its Art et Essai programming line, this new Arvor will be able to offer more films and therefore expose (and enhance) the diversity of independent cinema. It is also easier to organize events and special evenings: debates, meetings, previews, thematic programs... as well as the now famous Sunday Night Film (once or twice a month), which is an opportunity to see or re-see on the big screen a lovingly selected cult film. The reception, with its decoration made of visible raw materials (wood, concrete columns...) also has a coffee area to wait pleasantly before a film or to debrief passionately with friends at the end of a session.

Housed in a brand-new building straddling the Cleunay and Courrouze districts, the Antipode is no half-measure. Its imposing monolithic structure includes two concert halls, one of which can accommodate up to 900 people, a creative workshop, rehearsal studios, spaces dedicated to artistic practice... and even a library. The history of this MJC is deeply rooted in the Cleunay district. A veritable institution in Rennes, the Antipode focuses on contemporary music and offers a wide variety of programming, including rock, rap, soul, pop, jazz, electro, hip-hop and metal, as well as a program dedicated to young audiences.

Since 1987, the Ubu has been organizing a number of concerts and events around music throughout the year. A small hall whose configuration allows a beautiful communion between the artist and the public, it has the advantage of having terraces allowing the audience to spread out in height around the pit as well as a very pleasant bar area. It is also known for its mythical pole, object of puns since generations, which hides the stage to those who would have the misfortune to be in the bad angle. A must in the cultural landscape of Rennes, with an eclectic program, the UBU offers great posters and is a good support to the independent scene.

Formerly located in the city center, Le Bacchus café-théâtre has been given a new lease of life by the water. Housed in a wood, glass and steel building on the banks of the Vilaine River, Rennes' legendary café-théâtre has retained its intimate atmosphere, and is as pleasant for a drink as it is for a show. We're happy to share a board with a glass of wine (or more, as Le Bacchus is also a restaurant). While the great comedians and up-and-coming talents get their kicks performing here, on the spectators' side, our zygomatic muscles get a workout at every show.

A charm of yesteryear hovers when you go to this cinema located in the center of town, a few steps from the beach. It has two rooms with digital image and sound (3D). In room 1, there are 268 seats with digital sound, 12-meter screen. In room 2, there are 122 seats with digital sound, 7 meter screen. The theaters are also equipped with assistive devices for deaf and hard of hearing spectators and audio description. The establishment is part of the French Association of Art Cinemas. For those with a sweet tooth, sweets, drinks and popcorn are available.

It's one of the most magical places in Rennes. Place de la mairie, the opera house, inaugurated in 1836, shines opposite the town hall with its distinctive architecture. A venue for musical encounters, its glass roof and galleries set the opera house apart from the rest of the city. The 642-seat Italian-style auditorium, with its painted ceiling and decor, will transport you. Take a seat and enjoy lyrical evenings spanning four centuries of repertoire, from contemporary works to songs from other countries. Definitely a Rennes venue to discover!

You dreamed it, the Saint-Michel French Cabaret did this, this unique and exceptional place that has absolutely nothing to envy the Moulin Rouge, Lido and other major institutions of Paris, and which lies on the route of the Mont-Saint-Michel Bay, 10 minutes from the mount and 25 minutes from Saint-Malo. And it is certainly one of the greatest regional events of the year - opening scheduled at the end of July 2009 -… with him, place to dream, surprise, wonder, novelty. The cabaret can accommodate 200 seated people and 400 people for cocktails, it includes a lounge bar and a regional shop (souvenirs, fine groceries, wine cellar…), and is accessible for disabled people. It offers two hours of a magical spectacle of quality (with magic, transformistes, chanteurs singers, burlesque…) which will make you feel happy while admiring the elegant and refined cuisine, true treats for the taste buds (homemade gras and his fig jam and gingerbread jam, beef filet with the cream of morels and his vegetable topping). Several formulas can be offered and, on request, it is possible to organize shows for older guests. A great address to not miss under any pretext!

In the heart of the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, come discover a magical place designed for the pleasure of the senses… Beware, the curtain rises! A warm welcome will be reserved with a soft atmosphere conducive to escape, and exquisite and elegant cuisine your taste buds. High-quality artists (comics, magicines, transformistes, cabaret artists…) are dazzle throughout the evening and you will have plenty of stars in your eyes. For the significant events of your life, the Cabaret Saint-Michel is privatising and facilitating the organisation with "turnkey" formulas. 

On the banks of the canal, halfway between the town center and the Etangs d'Apigné, La Guinguette, the MeM's open-air stage, has a bohemian ambience. Come for a drink and share a cornet of charcuterie, eat miso sesame beef or a salad of vinegared rice with fish "burnt" with cucumber and spring onion - recipes by Julien Lemarié. Weekend barbecues. From Thursday to Sunday, the Guinguette invites musicians from eclectic backgrounds. The superb Magic Mirrors tent offers concerts, festivals, conferences and other events all year round. A site that has quickly captured the hearts of the people of Rennes.

Located in the Rocabey district, a few minutes from the Sillon beach, Le Vauban remains the only cinema in the corsair city. It has five rooms accessible to disabled people. If the Vauban 1 (Rocabey) broadcasts the big productions and other general public films, on the other hand, the Vauban 2, located in the Grande Passerelle, is committed to offering an author's cinema and a more specialized program with notably some art house productions. The three theaters of Vauban 2 are part of the cultural center La Grande Passerelle.

Moored on the quays of Rennes in winter and roaming the canals of Brittany in summer, La Péniche spectacle is a creative venue run by the company Le Théâtre du Pré Perché. Its crew develops a rich, multi-disciplinary program around music and words. Using the symbolism of the voyage, the company invites you to discover the voices of the world, through plays, concerts, photographic exhibitions and storytelling... on the water! It is also a venue for exhibitions, conferences and meetings, working with local festivals in particular.

Inaugurated in 1997 with a capacity of 254 seats, Le Tambour is located in the heart of Rennes II. Linked to education on campus, programming is entrusted to teachers and students. There are conferences and concerts in all styles: classical, electro, rock, rap… Let us not forget the Big Band of Rennes II and the university choirs. The Clear Obscure association deals with the Ciné Tambour, with evolving themes per semesters. € 35 for 48 annual cinema meetings, € 20 at reduced rate: It's pretty interesting, isn't it? Not to mention partnerships with festivals: Jazz in the West, Travelling, Drum Bearings, Meeting, Electroni… A room that always needs to be seen! Very active, it reserves great moments! At the Saint-Malo theaters the red velvet curtains open on any style of show as long as it is of quality: dance, opera, classical or contemporary theater, humor... Lovers of Shakespeare or want to laugh with Olivier de Benoist, there is something for all tastes. From a performance of the Kiev City Ballet, through Carmen, Les Promesses de l'aube after Romain Gary and with Stephane Freiss, Les lettres à Nour with Robin Renucci or a show by Fabrice Luchini, you will be touched, surprised and above all enthused.

It is the concert hall of Saint-Malo. The space is divided into two rooms: a large room of 920 places including 180 seats and a club of 180 places where are welcomed open stages, cinemas concert, small intimate evenings during the week, most often on Thursday and free. It opens onto the smoking area, a terrace in the open air that is appreciated on summer evenings. La Nouvelle Vague also has four rehearsal and recording studios, with several sound systems and good acoustic equipment, and two dressing rooms.

In Montauban-de-Bretagne, children and their families can enjoy a magical show with Bruno Rodrigues. On stage, Bruno mixes spoken tricks with audience participation, creating a unique experience. His show is a true enchanter, where magic, poetry and humor meet to the delight of the audience. The careful staging adds a touch of novelty while retaining the traditional charm of cabaret. The show begins with the dove act that has won Bruno Rodrigues national and international magic awards. La Comédie de Rennes is a brand new venue located in the Longs Champs area. Artistic director Nilson José is himself an actor and producer. The unique, intimate 120-seat venue offers a rich program for young audiences and adults alike. There's plenty of interactive comedy to keep things light-hearted. More than just a performance venue, the Comédie de Rennes offers improvisation and acting classes for all ages, led by professionals at very affordable rates. On the practical side, the venue has free parking, so you don't have to worry about parking in the evening.

Now run by the Joli Collectif, who moved from the Théâtre de Poche d'Hédé-Bazouges to Saint-Jacques de La Lande, l'Aire Libre is a venue firmly rooted in its local area. Theater, music, dance, workshops, exhibitions... the multi-disciplinary program highlights hybrid, immersive forms that can't be seen anywhere else. Three highlights punctuate the season: the first focuses on living together, the second on youth, and the last on the international scene. The bar and bistro-theater are the perfect places to meet and exchange ideas with the artists. A place to discover and be surprised.

Housed in a former ^12th-century church, the Théâtre du Vieux Saint-Etienne is one of those places that offers great freedom of artistic expression. A creative and performance venue for local theater, circus arts and slam poetry companies, the Théâtre du Vieux Saint-Etienne offers shows for all audiences, with programming initiated by companies and events such as Ay-Roop (circus arts) and the Maintenant festival. Associated with the Mythos, Maintenant and Stunfest festivals, the stage offers many moments of grace and remarkable performances.

The ciné-club of the University of Rennes 2 welcomes you every Wednesday for double film screenings organised by the Department of Performing Arts. Benefiting from all the modern comforts and a giant screen, the cinema allows to see in very good conditions films from a program ensuring a great diversity (great classics, darker films, documentaries...), partnerships with various associations as well as the Travelling festival. Outside the cinema club, live shows, concerts and conferences are held all year round to complete a programme that allows everyone to benefit from a professional cultural offer at very accessible prices.
