AU PHARE D'ERQUY

Bar and caf

Closed - Open to 09h00

With its terrace ideally located in front of the lighthouse and the harbour master's office, what better place to open a tea-bar lounge? That's exactly what Thierry Lorand said when he opened this place in 2018. It contains the basics of a tea room, namely a range of teas from the Richard counters. But you can also enjoy a Valrhona hot chocolate in winter, which will perfectly match your pear cream or caramelized Tatin pie, when it's time for a treat. As for salty snacks, bruschettas or pies should satisfy you. A good Belgian beer if it is a question of quenching a thirst for bliss while contemplating the bay. And you will certainly be delighted in this magical setting, you must admit. You will find here a very attentive service that a jazzy soundtrack will sublimate soberly. A tea room that is about to become a lighthouse in Erquy!

For all lovers of Latino sounds, salsa dance and good tapas, the Mamacita is one of the warm addresses you love to discover. Every Thursday, Johan and Isa give salsa and bachata classes at 21 pm. The evening continues with good Latino mixes. The Iberian sausage trays and the blue wine Gik Azul are a nice option to use. Bar still very lively!

LE CRAZY FUNKY MONKEY

Bar and caf

1 review

Régis Lemarchand opened the Crazy Funky Monkey in the company of his stuffed monkey. Bar and snack, you can eat there at any time on the go and the owner favors local and seasonal products. To eat quickly but well, such is its credo! The decoration is cosy and original. The welcome is very warm and we like the Viennese hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream at snack time and the daily bistro-style dishes at lunch time (paninis, bowls, burgers...). Many animations and concerts are organized during the weekends. A good address!

LA GRANGE VADROUILLE

Music and entertainment bar

In the countryside, not far from the port of Toul an Héry, the Porspoden manor house transforms itself each summer into a cultural third place, with a rich program of concerts, DJ sets, shows, creative or wellness workshops... You can also simply come for a drink or even a bite to eat, either in the large inner courtyard, or in the shelter of the vast room fitted out in one of the longères, warmed by old carpets and populated by long farm tables and old sofas. Perfect for groups of friends and families with children, who'll have plenty of room to play!

Beer bar

Close to the Nantes-Brest canal, popular with cyclists, walkers and sailors, the Guerlédan brewery has become in a few months an unmissable spot. Both a craft brewery (Nathalie brews 6 recipes on the spot) and a brew pub, the place is lively and intergenerational. You can enjoy a froth while playing a board game, or in front of a concert in summer. The outside looks like a biergarten while inside, the hangar is warm with its antique furniture, its carpets, its stove in winter and its Canadian-inspired bar.

PUB O'KENNY

Pub

Just for the decor, this pub is worth a detour. Old beams, old stones, ropes, bariques and other folklore (in the right sense) leave no one indifferent. You are immediately immersed in a culture. On Wednesday evening, at 21 p. m., groups sing Irish air. The Guinness reign in the places of course… football evenings too! Small tables and dining, there are for everyone. And every summer, the atmosphere wins the street with the full-blown terrace. An indispensable address of the briochine nightlife.

This former post office from the 1930s now houses a tea room, which serves excellent pastries: religieuse au beurre salé, mille-feuilles or, in season, strawberry and raspberry tarts, which vary every year. The Paris-Verdelet, a house invention, with its praline mousseline hiding a caramel puff, is a must. You can also enjoy artisanal ice creams or, on Sundays and during the vacations, have a good brunch or a savory pie. The decoration makes a reference to the past of the place. Highly recommended!

From the Place of the Center, you will surely be intrigued by this little alleyway between two buildings of old stones that descend slowly. Follow it, and close to the banks of Trieux, you will find the pub La Glycine, a guingampaise institution. The bar, in financial difficulty, was saved by a participatory fundraising campaign in 2016, meaning the attachment of local people to this place. With its name, the hotel combines a façade shaded by a thick curtains of glycine. Simplicity and generosity are the key words of this pub, whether in the welcome we are reserved for, or the deco, simple and comfortable. In the pure tradition of the pubs, you can choose between many beers, and enjoy a billiard and a game of darts upstairs. Rock 'n' roll and relaxed atmosphere, here we don't expect karaoke night to sing…

It took Typhaine and Bérenger nine months of work to transform this former clothing store, located in the city centre, into a warm and charming bistro. The vintage interior blends old stones, woodwork, sheet metal and a green ceiling. In the centre of the room is an elegant patinated wooden counter, topped by a copper still-like drawer. In addition to Breton draught beers and a fine selection of wines, especially from the South-West, the troquet offers a bistro cuisine every lunchtime of the week. On the menu: a daily special and four large salads, as well as five desserts. It is both simple and original, well worked and well presented. In the evening, to enhance the aperitif with friends, it is possible to order a board, mixing cheeses and delicatessen cut on a retro slicer. The establishment has a small terrace at the front, on the street, and a pleasant garden at the back, with vast flowerbeds, a fountain and a cabin for the little ones.

Summer evenings, you can take the aperitif on the sea view, admire Milliau Island and enjoy the concerts given very regularly during holiday periods.
