LIMFJORDSLANDET
Read moreWe change landscape. We leave the sea, sand and cliffs, for the fjord and its swamps: no mountains on the edge of the Limfjord. It is reached at the time when it arrives from the Kattegat via Aalborg and takes the aspect of a genuine inland sea.
On the right, the Marécages Vejle wetlands: the largest reserve of marine birds in Northern Europe. The ornithologists will be happy, others too. By continuing towards Thisted, and facing this city, we see the Isle of Jaws, in the middle of the Limfjord, with cliffs that have been the theatre of the true drama of Prince Hamlet. Why not cross the bridge? Take Highway 26, direction Nykobing Jaws, the "capital" of this island of the interior.
