Read moreBought at the beginning of the 20th century by the Gessler family, it is now Vanessa and Kevin, representatives of the4th generation, who have the reins of the Domaine de Joÿ. The Gesslers have always been lovers of white wines, and they bring out the best in traditional grape varieties with great delicacy. Low-pressure pressing, fermentation in temperature-controlled vats and air-conditioning in the winery allow the wine to be matured gently and no sulphites are added. Folle-blanche and baco are also grown to produce the famous armagnac.

Read moreCareful you don't leave empty-handed if you enter my house... Kevin Gessler's. He runs the Domaine de Joÿ with his sister and also owns this cellar, located at the entrance to Nogaro. More than 600 references occupy the presentation cubes or wooden crates of this luminous shop. A real treasure cellar, most of the nuggets come from the South-West. However, Kevin also offers a short list of wines from elsewhere, whether from other French regions or from more distant vineyards such as this Austrian zweigelt. Homemade beers rub shoulders with wines. These are also available in 16-litre or 30-litre barrels for your parties. In this case, the filler is loaned to you by the cellar master. If you prefer spirits, here again the selection is very specific: gin and vodka from the Gers, rum from the Philippines, Japanese whisky or pure malt from Scotland. The Armagnacs come directly from the Domaine de Joÿ: VSOP, XO, out of age, vintage or special blends, there is something for every (good) taste and every budget. In the heart of the Bas-Armagnac region, the 16 hectares of vines of the estate are composed of three grape varieties: Folle Blanche, Colombard and Ugni Blanc. Since 1832, their know-how has been transmitted from generation to generation: distillation on the property according to the traditional method, with two stills; ageing double the legal minimum in local black oak barrels; bottling on the property.

ARMAGNAC VEUVE GOUDOULIN
Read moreFounded in 1935, the Goudoulin house was bought in 2009 by an Alsatian distiller, Michel Miclo. A lover of Armagnac, he was seduced by the quality of the estate and its collection of vintages, the oldest of which dates back to 1900. With Aurélien, the cellar master, he perpetuates the spirit of excellence of Jeanne Goudoulin. The two partners have also succeeded in creating a collaboration between the two houses around another product: gin. The berries are selected by the Miclo house, the distillation and the maturation in barrels are done at the Goudoulin estate.

Read moreGascony has been offering its hillsides to the art of winegrowing for two millennia. This predisposed terroir combined with the know-how of 1,500 producers has given rise to wines of character protected by a PGI. Many of the grape varieties grown are specific to this terroir, such as colombard, ugni blanc or gros manseng for the white wines, produced in large quantities (90%). For the reds, we find tannat, merlot and cabernet for a full-bodied result.

Classified as an AOC, it can be drunk chilled, but also with foie gras, cheese or dessert. It is produced in the Armagnac region, in three departments.
