The most photogenic and at the same time comfortable of the Khan. You are greeted by a statue of the Egyptian icon Umm Khalsoum. Opened in 2011, ideally located a stone's throw from the Place de l'Opéra, at the corner of Toumanian and Lazar Parpetsi streets, in a lively and rather young district, this French brasserie-style establishment offers a wide range of snacks if you have a small or not so small hunger and of course all kinds of drinks and cocktails presented with taste and care for hospitality. Its shaded and nicely arranged terrace allows you to be in a quiet place in summer, while enjoying the animation of the district and the show of the street

Initially created in the prestigious Rue Abovian, it has moved to the no less prestigious Opéra district where it is once again distilling the charm of the Parisian terraces in the heart of the Armenian capital. A stopover is essential on the terrace as well as inside, tastefully decorated, where you can order in French to taste excellent Armenian (not to say Turkish!) or espresso coffee and all types of drinks, which you can possibly share with the French-speaking people who frequent the place.

Only for adults! Run by twin brothers Piotr and Pavel Levchuk, real bondage gurus, Moro is a thematic SM light bar. Don't worry, it's not a private club, despite the sometimes provocative disguises of the barmaids and the thematic evenings (bondage, pole dancing, etc.) that contribute to the atmosphere. One of the few clubs where a different band, local or foreign, performs almost every night, from rock to salsa to jazz and folk, with a preference for rock. The prices are reasonable and the evening lasts late into the night. One of the few places where you can see young people eager to show their difference. Called "Jacky Juky", these young people fascinated by the underground culture of the West want to go against the trend in Yerevan and wear an eclectic look, borrowing from hip-hop, grunge or gothic.

Located at the top of the prestigious Abovian Street, beyond Charles Aznavour Square, this club of relatively recent creation has managed to stay "in the wind" (which is called kami in Armenian). It will appeal especially to house music fans, but the DJs are changing and the musical program is varied, even if the clientele is a little less so. It gives a glimpse of Armenian middle-class and wealthy youth, who can afford a drink or cocktail, which is prepared with care by the bartender. However, the prices remain reasonable.

This is the concept, which has taken hold in Yerevan, that this establishment, where earthly foods are close to spiritual foods, offers you: books, films, records and handicrafts. In a cosy decor of natural wood, you can read the foreign press, while tasting simple and tasty, refined dishes or drinking your tea. The place also hosts monthly exhibitions of painters, photographers and sculptors.

Situated in the greenery of the circular boulevard, near the Opera House, it remains one of Yerevan's "must". Also called by its Russian name Paplovok ("sailboat"), for the architecture of the place, "anchored" on the edge of a vast basin, it was already very popular in the Soviet era, by intellectuals, artists, even dissidents and ... enlightened apparatchiks. Its design was elaborated by the artist's creations: collages, sculptures, restyling of antique furniture, paintings, all in a rare inventiveness. One can enjoy very good small dishes or have a drink there in a cosy atmosphere. A really charming setting and a very good address.

Open for more than thirty years, Mr. Salim's café is frequented mainly by students and regulars of the neighbourhood. You can sit quietly to smoke a hookah and drink Turkish tea or coffee. In the early morning, people from the neighbourhood buy a simit (sesame bread) and come here to enjoy it with a hot drink. Rug dealers are also installed but no harassment is practiced, on the contrary, it gives a colorful and very pleasant touch to the decor. Somewhere quiet and peaceful.

A dizzy person could easily miss the entrance. Beneath the minarets of Sainte-Sophie, nestled in an old 16th century Koranic school (medrese), the Caferağa, the work of Master Sinan (bust inside), is more than just a tea garden: an art school with shops and exhibitions. Turkish tea, herbal tea or coffee can be taken in the courtyard, where a kind of sarcophagus is enthroned (it would actually be an antique fridge!). In the heart of the Pentes, Le Bec de Jazz seems out of time with its Bird style club atmosphere. The walls are covered with the gigantic paintings of the owner. Last bastion of the once flourishing Marseille jazz scene, the Pelle Mêle is located a stone's throw from the Old Port and gathers from Tuesday to Saturday a public of jazz and live music lovers. The program is rich and varied every week with an open mic night every Friday (reservation strongly advised). It is a beautiful place of night life where you can discover local and international artists that you will only ask to follow afterwards. In the evening, accompany your drinks with quesadillas or cuttlefish in parsley.

When was the last time you laughed at a show? Head for the Complexe, where you'll be looked after by a smiling team. Here, the show begins before the show, with a glass of sangria and a few tapas. In the same vein as the famous Boui-Boui, this café-theater under the direction of Stéphane Casez is in a way the cousin of the Croix-Rousse. Opened more than 10 years ago in a former bakery on the plateau, the Rideau Rouge has a small air-conditioned room where people like to come with friends to see a wide variety of shows, happily mixing 100% Lyon comedies and prestigious headliners. The Rideau Rouge has teamed up with the neighboring Café de la Soie to offer complete evenings of dinner and show with an all-inclusive formula. When the Red Curtain rises on the Croix-Rousse, laughter is guaranteed between friends.

Place Sathonay is one of our favourite spots to take a cool break in summer. An air of Provence blows under the big trees and the sheltered terrace of this tea room/glacier/pastry shop makes us enjoy it with discretion and greediness. On the tip of your tongue, it's an address to share to enjoy homemade products: ice creams and sorbets inspired by flavours from here and elsewhere, with creations that never fail to amaze us. Crazy ice cream sundaes. Other pleasures to savour, pastries and other bugnes in season, always made on site. Snack break, crêpes, pancakes and brunch in the same spirit of freshness and quality.

A great opportunity to sample the best the Lazio region has to offer. The atmosphere is warm and friendly in the minimalist dining room (tables and chairs in rough wood). We go there for an aperitivo accompanied by a good charcuterie platter, although the address also serves hot dishes, and they're delicious! Try the pasta carbonara in particular. Good selection of natural Italian wines. A must if you're looking for a wine shop serving good food in the Monti district.

If you think that a good bar, is a place where to redo the world among friends, without being obliged to ruin in consumption, then L'Apostrophe will ring you somewhere. Let us say it right now: the plant is more than approximate. But the atmosphere is quiet. We hear about it. Customers are a mix of used and strategy games. Lyon's go club has been elected here and the go stones go out of the cupboards on Thursday evening, from 20 h 30 until marre and Saturday from 16 pm. By the price of the alléché pressure, the students can get there easily on the weekend. Pressure, quite rightly, can rise to many. A mandatory terrace to sit and enjoy the homemade specialty, burgers. Sandwiches that are themed, even exotic, composed of honourable ingredients, but with meat always overcooked to our taste. Although the fries are crispy to eat, chewing the burger can be complicated. Come on, take a beer to get it through… No desserts, except ice-creams. At the end of the day, the burger/beer comes back at about twenty euros, for a hardly adequate quality and a service that is extended (it's not easy to satisfy the desires of the entire terrace on a summer evening) but remains smiling. A half-tone address that allows you to spend pleasant moments on the banks of the Rhône.

Espace Gerson, a name that sounds like an evidence when you think "shows" in Lyon. More than 30 years of existence for a room of 120 seats and stands with an unobstructed view on the stage, a very nice associative bar. The Espace Gerson is a must of the Lyon's theater-café with the Plateaux de Gerson and young comedians who come to present a part of their show the last Mondays of each month.

Lulu has set up shop at Jean Macé. Lulu does us so much good, even more so in these times of "crises" in the plural, with its program of comedies full of madness to share. A colorful, cheerful theater, in the image of Renaud Gairard, the reopened head acrobat who decided to bring these walls back to life with a beautiful 180-seat auditorium and a table to enjoy along with the audience's comments. A place dedicated to comedy and laughter, to revivals of classic texts and to the most unusual creations, can only be salutary at a time when the performing arts need our support. According to our French taste, Starbucks does not always offer the "best coffee in the world" and we will stubbornly continue to defend the "Café Comptoir", the "little black" in the morning with the unequalled taste when shared with friends. Because can we really share in Wi-Fi mode behind your laptop, even on a comfortable seat? It's up to you.
