This small museum, created in 1994 on the initiative of Jean Bac, a former member of the Resistance, has become an interesting educational tool and much more than a simple place of conservation. Every year, this museum contributes to the knowledge of one of the darkest historical episodes of the contemporary era. Through lectures, excursions, guided tours and activities for schoolchildren, it ensures that history is well understood. From the rise of Nazism to the Nuremberg trials, the exhibitions are comprehensive.

In this ^14th century building, cheese is king. Two rooms are dedicated to the instruments used to make and mature the cheeses in the maturing cellar. In addition to the history of the local fourme and its manufacturing secrets, this place offers a visit of the cellar which was used as a cellar for La Fayette. Enjoying a good piece of Fourme d'Ambert cheese will be on the program, before going to meet the Myrtille cow and learn other tricks about milk.

The rock Charlemagne is well known to climbing fans. This initiation site (diffculté 3 to 7 C +) culminates at a height of 60 m and proposes about 70 channels. You will find it near the bridge of Braynand, once it is crossed.

The Saint-Dominique district stretches from the Avenue of the United States to Rue Gabriel-Perished, and although not part of the central plateau, it remains an important place in the city. A relatively calm and pleasant place in the day, with its terraces avenantes in semi-pedestrian streets, it agite at night. Among its special features are its impressive number of restaurants of all kinds and of all horizons, its nightclubs and its places of pleasure… St. Dominic's Street is still very strongly associated with prostitutes who have made it their favourite place since the closure of brothels after the war. Let's also mention the presence of the Ambiances, a little cinema art and trial, that the chance of circumstances has made some sort of revival of its ashes after various events. Côté Jaude, the rue des Minimes leads to the church Saint-Pierre-des-Minimes (which contains, for the anecdote, Pascal's certificate of baptism); to the opposite is the courthouse, then Fontgiève street ("Jewish fountain"). Saint-Dominique remains a popular neighbourhood for strong identity.

In the same spirit as the Paradis de Queuille, the Belvédère des Ancizes offers a magnificent panorama of the Sioule valley and allows you to become aware of its winding, steep and wild course. This beautiful viewpoint overlooks the river before it reaches the Fades reservoir, just before the Pont du Bouchet. A panel displays a map of the Combrailles and some explanations. The place is also a nice place to have a picnic and the opportunity to make nice walks in the surroundings and, why not, finish the day at the water level of Les Fades.
