At first, Marion Aoustet and Benoit Combes created a wine candy, then the desire to make their own sweets was born. Their workshop opens onto the gourmet store. Depending on the day and time of your visit, you can watch the artisanal production process, a magical moment in the transformation of sugar. The gourmet palette ranges from marshmallows and teddy bears to their famous crystals, lollipops, candy canes, caramelized pecans and orchard sweets. Their specialty: crystals, a baked sugar stretched, flaky and tangy. Yummy!

Situated in the shopping and pedestrian district of Les Godrans, the Roy René shop is a small treasure trove of delicacies. Karine's welcome is friendly! With an inimitable recipe based on Cavaillon melons, candied orange peels and Provence almond powder, dozens of flavours and products have been created. You can select your calissons and nougats, aiming for bold flavours or preferring the famous calisson to the Black Burgundy blackcurrant. The packaging is always very neat: it's good to know if you want to give a gift of a variation of coloured calissons. The syrups are also to be tasted, especially the almond one! Not Burgundian but so good!

This factory, which has been established on Auxois land since 1954, is a reference in the field of biscuits, made from traditional recipes. In the shop, you will find madeleines, pound cakes, soft plain or with fruits... The company has for some years now turned towards an organic and ethical range, so the latest addition to this range is called the organic vegan cookie. Present in other cities, the brand is installed in Dijon, Quetigny and Auxerre. If travelling is complicated, you can opt for the shopping site or home delivery.

AU NEGUS

From the name of a gourmet specialty, made of a crunchy layer of cooked sugar that contains, oh my, a delicious soft chocolate caramel. This sweetness takes its name from the sovereign of Ethiopia, Negeus Menelik, who was visiting at the time of its creation in 1902. This house, founded in 1893, has kept a frontage with a remarkable cachet with its antique formwork, while the interior decoration is of oriental style. Other specialties make the gourmets fall in love: chocolate candies, pralines, spreads, confectionery, fruit jellies.

At the foot of the Priory and in a more than charming setting, you can taste the famous Charitois, a specialty of nearly 100 years, soft caramel with chocolate or coffee, coated with cooked sugar; taste the Pavé du Prieuré, the Muscadines, blackcurrant pearls and enjoy a homemade hot chocolate... What delights! In summer, go through the small door near the porch, and a charming courtyard will welcome you to savor the homemade ice cream. A house not to be missed in the city of the Book for its local specialities.

L'AMBROISIE

Confectionery

L'Ambroisie, created by Alain Le Bourdoulou in 1997, is a true Chalonnaise institution. Renovated in 2021, the boutique, its façade and the tea room make the moment even more precious. While the macaroons and pastries are exceptional, each season has its own not-to-be-missed rendezvous. The galettes are one of them, so unique are the frangipane and the recipe. Another of L'Ambroisie's talents is its chocolates. An address that sublimates the classics of our gourmet subconscious.

MAISON GRAMM'S

Artisanal (and organic) popcorns made in Auxerre: that's the original concept behind Maison Gramm's. Present in many of the region's delicatessens, the tastes they offer may surprise, but the flavors are always there. Will you fall for the salted butter caramel with Sichuan pepper?
