In Metz, two skateparks are open to all, and have long brought together a community of skate enthusiasts. The Plan d'Eau skatepark behind the skating rink, with its mixed facilities, is suitable for all ages and levels. The Bowl at Parc de la Seille, a fast-paced course covering 500 m², is aimed more at the most gifted skaters. In fact, this area is very well known, and people come from far and wide to try out a few tricks! Please note, however, that access to these facilities is free, and children must be supervised by their parents.

Tip Top TAP: an activity full of percussive promise, offers a journey to the wonderful land of clapping, with a discovery of the different techniques used in tap dancing, from the magic moments of the American musical, through the Irish art, but also using tap as a percussion instrument. This timeless art combines physical exercise with a playful hobby and represents a very complete enrichment by developing balance, coordination, listening, memory, concentration, creativity, space management, group life..

Sixty tap dancers from 10 to 80 years old come from all over the region to share their passion, every Monday and Tuesday evening, according to five levels of adult classes, a children's/teenagers' class, workshops, training courses, etc., at Loisirs et Culture 11 bis rue des Couvents in Montigny-lès-Metz. Equipped with an electronic studio and a laboratory, the workshop, moderated by Arnaud Bantquin, introduces beginner photographers (Tuesday) and advanced (Monday) to various photographic techniques and approaches. The beginner course will be an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the digital photography technique so that you can master many areas such as portrait, object or reporting. The town of Courcelles-Chaussy is home to AAPPMA La Rousse, a fishing association. The airfield was created in 1911 for pilot training and military observation of the French/German border zone on the eve of the First World War. Subsequently, civilian aeronautical activities were developed. The Sarrebourg-Buhl airfield is home to the Sarrebourg regional flying club, founded in 1947 by Henri Metz, a locksmith born in Sarrebourg in 1892, who learned to fly during his military service in the German army. Today, it is a dynamic intercommunal airfield and the last airfield in Moselle open to public air traffic. It has two runways running south-north, one asphalt runway 740 m long and 20 m wide, and one grass runway 770 m long and 80 m wide. There is also a parking area, a hangar and a fuel and lubricant station. It is used for leisure and tourism activities: light aviation and model aircraft...

Choose to rent a boat without a licence in Hesse. From there, set off on the Saar Canal to discover the Sarrebourg region, the land of historic Lorraine, between the Vosges and Alsace, or on the Marne-Rhine Canal towards Strasbourg and its cathedral, crossing a region of marshes where you come across fishermen and villages with half-timbered houses. You are the captain! You can sleep and cook on your boat. A peaceful stay on the water.

A quiet, easy 1-hour walk. Starting from the abbey priest's garden, follow the croquenot (walking shoe) on a pink background towards the stream. You'll come across the miraculous spring and a protected wetland where irises grow in season. You pass the town hall, the old forester's house and the walled meadow. Then into the forest. When you reach the water reservoir, turn right onto a path (blue disc) leading down to the village, and continue along the forest track with a view of the village. You can also discover the IRIS walk, which completes this range of short family walks.

The Harreberg area is particularly well-suited to hiking. There are numerous signposted routes starting from the village. These include

the Harreberg circular route, the longest (10.3 km), takes around 3h30 to complete, mainly on forest roads.

la circulaire des Picards, a 6.2-km circuit with a gradient of almost 500 m, takes 1h45.

la circulaire du Rocher des Siamois, a 6km hike between vegetation and minerals, where you come across two spectacular rocks standing like brothers, takes 2 hours.

the Krappenfelsen circuit totals 7.5 km and 600 m of ascent through the forest, past the Saint-Marcel grotto and beautiful viewpoints.

In keeping with the club's motto: 1 day on the trail, 8 days of health, the Club Vosgien invites you to hike along the marked footpaths it maintains throughout the region. With over 350 members, the Sarrebourg-Abreschviller club is one of the Federation's largest. It maintains and marks around 650 km of trails, thanks to the commitment of some twenty volunteers. The Club Vosgien is a key player in tourism and in the life of the Sarrebourg and Abreschviller areas.

In Rhodes, there's another club for regatta enthusiasts, with a crane for launching yachts. SYR was founded in 1961 as an international sailing and training center for all ages, with an emphasis on youth training. Today, it has 263 members, including 40 youngsters.

Rich in meadows, woods and ponds, this estate is a concentrate of nature. Here, Dorothée Singer is developing a project dedicated to the environment and biodiversity, based around beekeeping and equestrian tourism. This beautiful hike for good walkers reveals the sites, rock carvings and landscapes on the slopes of the Zorn valley. For nearly three centuries, this small valley was home to numerous sawmills and glassworks, small industries that sprang up after the Thirty Years' War, attracting Swiss, Bavarian, Austrian and Picardy families to repopulate the region after the ravages of the plague and the exactions of Swedish and Bavarian mercenaries. Depart from the town hall to reach the ruins of the Pagan castle (Heidenschloss). The site first saw the erection of a watchtower over the Zorn valley, before a small castle was built to protect the valley passages. Later taken over by brigands, it took on the nickname of Château des Païens, a nickname shared with the ruin of another castle in Walscheid. The route climbs to the Rocher des Corbeaux, with its panoramic view over the Ententhal valley. You'll discover the historic meeting place of Presidents Kohl and Mitterand in 1983. At Rocher de la Paie you'll find an explanatory panel installed by the Club Vosgien de Dabo about the table on which forestry workers were paid from the ^19th to the early ^20th century. You come across an oratory and pass by a shelter built by the Club Vosgien, cross the Zorn, walk on ridges and through undergrowth... A varied and enjoyable hike.

The Aeroclub de Sarrebourg-Buhl welcomes you to the Henri Metz aerodrome near Sarrebourg, with a fleet of gliders for training, practice flights, pleasure or performance. Geeks can practise their skills on the flight simulator, a two-seater, dual-control training aid that reproduces the ergonomics of a glider cabin, with all the controls of a real glider: stick, airbrakes, landing gear. The flight environment is projected onto a wall using a video projector.

Ranch sounds more Western than chic horse club! The atmosphere here is relaxed and country, with some of the horses sporting piebald dresses and Indian gaits. On this site, Didier and Carine offer a full range of services for riders and their equine companions: breaking-in, transport, horse boarding, trail rides and equestrian tourism in magnificent surroundings with a qualified guide. We also breed and sell horses. The ranch is "Jeunesse et Sport" approved.

This dynamic local association organizes hikes and mountain bike rides throughout the year, including the Marche des Sept Roses in summer, and programs events such as the very popular and spectacular Marche nocturne aux flambeaux in early December, as a prelude to Christmas. The Club Vosgien de Saint-Quirin, a District II club of the Fédération du Club Vosgien, is responsible for marking and maintaining 360 km of trails, building shelters for hikers, and promoting and raising awareness of the local natural and historical heritage.

The Lommerange karting circuit is the place to be for thrill-seekers. With its two renowned outdoor tracks, this site is home to the largest karting club in the region. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned driver, these technical and demanding tracks will give you incomparable thrills. Thanks to the 270cc CRG karts provided by Isabelle Guglietti, even novices can safely take off on one of the three tracks on offer. Competition fanatics will be delighted to learn that one circuit is specially dedicated to high-level jousting.

Discover the Langatte circuit, a seven-kilometre nature walk that takes in part of the Stock pond. This pleasant walk between water and forest takes you through a variety of landscapes, notably along the banks of the Sarre canal and through the Stock wood. You'll also come across the fortified house, used during the wars to house soldiers. Allow around 2 hours 15 to complete this circular hike, ideal for nature lovers.

Follow the white bike logo on the green background of the Circuit des Étangs. A paradise for cycle tourists, the Pays des Étangs is a favorite with cyclists for its scenery and quiet, rolling roads. The loop from Rhodes and the Etang du Stock reaches Gondrexange and its pond, following gentle undulations through the countryside and unspoilt nature of the Parc Naturel Régional de Lorraine, to reach Réchicourt-le-Château. Beautiful panorama at Tarquimpol. A shorter variant is the Circuit des étangs Rhodes - Lindre - Canal, 31 km long.

In addition to the many activities offered by Center Parcs, you'll find the Centre Equestre du Haut Bois nearby. Pony rides are offered by Center Parcs Les Trois Forêts on the park, and horseback rides by the equestrian center outside the grounds. The equestrian center welcomes children aged two and over for pony rides, as well as courses for all levels during the summer vacations.

Whether you're staying in a cottage or visiting for the day, there's no limit to the activities on offer at Center Parcs les Trois Forêts. This circuit, which follows the Deux Sarres cycle path, offers a wide range of possibilities for all levels. The route via Vasperviller, which totals 18 km along safe, signposted paths, is perfect for families, as it's so easy and enjoyable to ride. For the more athletic, there's a 23.5 km variant via Voyer that connects the two valleys. From the plateau, you'll enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Vosges mountains.

This base is dedicated to sailing and wind sports. Diving and other underwater sports are also practiced here. It's an offshoot and spot of ACAL, the Aquatic Club d'Alsace et de Lorraine, best known for wingfoil. The base remains open as long as weather conditions permit. The large clubhouse room is at your disposal for changing, sheltered from the wind and rain. If you're not yet a member of ACAL but would like to join the team, you can sign up on site.

This little stopover is the ideal place to recharge your batteries after a journey by boat, bike or on foot. Equipped with picnic tables, a barbecue, petanque courts and a pontoon for easy access to the mainland once the boats are moored. It's all part of a peaceful, relaxing experience.

An equestrian center and show stable, La Cantera is a multi-faceted, comprehensive space dedicated to horses and riders, set in 4 hectares of meadowland. The setting features a three-kilometer gallop track, a huge cross-country course, forest trails and even an educational equestrian farm. On site, in the arena or the riding arena, you'll be welcomed from the age of 3 for a gentle and fun first contact. A unique space under the direction of Loïc Teutsch, equestrian choreographer and artist, the activities on offer are varied: training courses, dressage, breeding, boarding, horseback riding, show jumping and equestrian shows. Fort de Queuleu, a witness to Metz's military history, is now a quiet green space. Following the Aurore storm in 2022, part of the fitness trail is now accessible, but the rest remains closed. The site is home to casemate A/caserne 2, a witness to the horrors of the Second World War, where over 1,500 resistance fighters were interned by the Gestapo. The Association du Fort de Metz-Queuleu, founded in 1971, is committed to preserving this memory through a variety of activities.

It's one of the jewels in the crown of river heritage that you'll discover on this itinerary, which unveils the developments made to enable river navigation. After skirting the pond-reservoir, the itinerary continues along six ancient locks that once enabled traffic to flow on the Marne-Rhine canal. The Grande Écluse that replaced these locks has saved a considerable amount of time. It allows boats to pass through in 30 minutes, compared with 6 hours previously. It is the French lock with the highest head on a Freycinet-gauge canal. Built between 1962 and 1965, it is an impressive 15.7 m high structure. From the lock site, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the canal and ponds. An interpretation trail, set between wood and water, details the canal's natural, human and historical riches.

Two other tours can be combined with the Grande Écluse tour. The nearest is the Petit Étang, which takes in the wildest part of the Réchicourt pond, a reservoir on the Marne-Rhine canal, divided into five basins, one of which is still used for merchant and pleasure boating. The Bataville circuit follows through an industrial and urban complex, a protected heritage site since 2014, around the former Bata Czech shoe factory and the workers' houses. All in all, three very different and richly varied tours.

A version for children is proposed on this circuit under the name Water and Biodiversity Trail. This can be enjoyed by the whole family, with the help of a booklet containing riddles to be solved along the way. This enigmatic walk also raises awareness of the surrounding biodiversity among young visitors. The booklet is available from the Sarrebourg Moselle Sud tourist office.

Starting from the Mittersheim marina, you begin this easy walking trail, signposted by the Club Vosgien, along the Sarre canal, before crossing the bridge to the campsite. This very aquatic loop leads to the Cornée d'Argent, a bucolic arm of a pond, with passages through undergrowth. On the way back, you walk along the other side of the campsite to the village of Mittersheim. Take the opportunity to visit it!

It's an emblematic circuit and... a hell of a ride. The entire route is reserved for trained cyclists. In fact, the Tour de France peloton has crossed the Col du Donon several times: a positive vertical drop of 1,375 m! But what panoramic views over the Vosges, the Alsace plain and the Lorraine plateau! The route passes the Notre-Dame-de-la-Délivrance (Seven Roses) chapel, isolated in the commune of Turquestein-Blancrupt, and offers a nature stop with bench and picnic table at the Abri des Baronnies on the GR 534 at Saint-Quirin.

A natural and built heritage trail. You can park in the Rue des Remparts parking lot, close to the start of this hike. You'll pass by the cemetery before joining a forest path leading to the Gros Chêne. Back in 1920, the Gros Chêne was described as a fine specimen to be preserved. It's still there, the undeniable king of the forest. Then on to Niederstinzel and the ruins of Geroldseck Castle. On the way back, visit the town of Fénétrange, with its castle (^11th-16th century) lined with Diane's gardens overlooking the Sarre. Also worth a visit are the collegiate church (^16th century) and numerous medieval houses and mansions belonging to the bailiffs of the Sires de Fénétrange.

A strategic point, Nitting is on the beautiful Voie Verte des Deux Sarres itinerary that links Sarrebourg to Abreschviller, in 18 km, along the Sarre Rouge canal, on the old towpath with its smooth asphalt surface. So from Nitting you can cycle, rollerblade or walk 9 km north to Sarrebourg or south to Abreschviller and its forest. Of course, you'll need to count the return journey too!

The airfield in the Sarrebourg region is home to a wide range of activities. First flights, ultralight flying school... Did you know that for the price of a standard B license, you can take your microlight pilot's license? After just a few months' experience, you'll be able to show your family around Saarbrücken's magnificent forests, lakes and Vosges mountains, as seen from the air. And in just two hours of microlight flying, you'll even be able to see the Normandy coastline!

We are here at 1 250 m, on one of the biggest Elm Balls. Spectacular views of the Vosges, Alsace, Belfort territory, and in clear time, on the Alps. It often happens that in winter we are here in the sun, above a sea of clouds, as by plane. Nice strolls on the summit: climb to the Jeanne-d'Arc statue to discover the Vosges trash in all their splendour. There will also be a statue dedicated to the deminers who did considerable work in the aftermath of the Second World War.

Leaving Senones in the direction of Petite Raon, you can take a trip to Lac de la Maix. Covering an area of 2 hectares, this lake has managed to preserve its wild character, giving rise to various legends. However, one enigma intrigues visitors: what is this strange monoxyle pirogue carved out of wood? And why is a slatted floor visible at the bottom of the lake? Uncovering the truth behind these riddles could unlock many secrets. A must-see site!

The municipal golf course, created in 1991, has a pleasant 9-hole par 35 course in a hilly and green setting. You can also take advantage of the training facilities with a driving range, a pitching green and a putting green. You can go to the club-house to discuss and rest after a beautiful course. The club also offers lessons for adults with a state-qualified professional, a discovery package and a school for young people from 8 years old.

Larcenaire has always been the place to be for skiing, even when the ladies wore big dresses. A family resort, Larcenaire has four ski lifts and eight runs: one black, one red, three blue and three green. There are snow cannons which guarantee sufficient snow in winter. The slalom stadium and the ski jump for beginners are ideal for enthusiasts. It is the ideal place for your holidays!

At the Xonrupt-Longemer cross-country skiing and snowshoeing area, you can take routes through the woods, offering exceptional views of the surrounding valleys. These routes will allow you to contemplate remarkable landscapes, including the Massif and Lac de Longemer. Routes are also signposted for snowshoe enthusiasts, with options such as the 4 km Les Plombes blue trail, or the 6 km green and red trails.

Few have this talent for creating or restoring stained glass windows. Philippe Weaver is one of these craftsmen, mastering the techniques from manual cutting to diamond roulette, mouth blown glass or lead assembly. The works damaged by time, thus find under his fingers, in his workshop, a new youth. But it does not stop there and also creates, unique pieces, vases, chandeliers, wall, plates, set out in its workshop.

Le Poli ski area has 4 slopes: 2 green and 2 blue, as well as 2 lifts. It is a family ski resort where you can practice alpine skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing. Gérardmer is a town in the Vosges region known for its downhill ski resort, La Mauselaine. L'École du Ski Français de Gérardmer is a well-known ski school in the region.
