Located in a former 18th century farmhouse, Le Cheval Blanc is one of the main cultural venues in the town of Schiltigheim. The brand new Maillon, which will open in 2019, includes two large rooms, one of which has 700 seats, administrative premises, logistics areas, but also reception areas with a bar restaurant and an inner courtyard. The Italian architect Umberto Napolitano included open and modular spaces to preserve the spirit of the past. This 6,700 ^m2 building allows the "theatre machine" to go further and reach new audiences. For several years now, the theater of the Rue du Ballon has not abandoned its grip on the small world of amateur theater, although in this particular case we can speak of professionalism. It is a French exception since it is the only national theatre in the regions and one of the two national higher schools for professional training in the dramatic arts. Named "The Shell", Colmar's outdoor theater welcomes the Colmar Wine Fair every year in the summer.
