TOMPKINS SQUARE HALLOWEEN DOG PARADE
Read moreOn the Saturday before Halloween, dogs have been parading in disguise in Tompkins Square for over 30 years. Dogs and their owners wear a matching costume. You will see hundreds of dogs in the most inventive costumes, three-headed dogs, superman dogs, chihuahua mariachi, there is something for everyone! The parade takes place between noon and 3pm. Prizes are awarded for the most beautiful costumes and a quest is organized for charities.
BROADWAY IN BRYANT PARK
Read moreEvery Thursday at noon, Broadway musicals perform a portion of their show on the open-air stage in Bryant Park, with the Midtown buildings as a backdrop. The opportunity to see Chicago, Jersey Boys, Beetlejuice or Pretty Woman. Four or five musicals are performed every Thursday, each lasting 15 to 20 minutes, with the real actors. The good news is that it's completely free. The bad news is that you're bound to want to see a whole show on Broadway after that!
NATHAN'S FAMOUS HOT DOG EATING CONTEST
Read moreSince 1916, Nathan's Famous, Coney Island's hot dog king, has been holding a giant hot dog eating contest on National Day. The record is held by a certain Joey "jaws" Chestnut, who in 2021 managed to swallow no less than 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes! In fact, it's the world record. In the women's category, New Yorker Miki Sudo won in 2020 after swallowing 48 hot dogs. Unique and kitschy!

The show remains faithful to the universe of the saga while bringing a certain freshness to it. Magic and bluffing.
ELECTRIC ZOO FESTIVAL

All the greatest DJs and electro artists in the world gather at the beginning of September to get 150,000 fans dancing for three days. Now a fixture on the electro scene, the festival was the target of criticism in 2013 following the death of two festival-goers by overdose. The last day of the festival had finally been cancelled by the organizers at the request of the town hall. The line-up is still quite exceptional.
GOVERNORS BALL MUSIC FESTIVAL
