CHAI RENE

Caviste
4.6/5
11 reviews
Closed - Open to 10h00

On the corner of rue Mignet and Constantin, this wine cellar is run by Coraline, a young woman with a passion for wine. Chai René, not as in King René, but as in Coraline's grandfather, who encouraged his granddaughter from the outset in this wonderful adventure: a lovely way to pay homage to him and to revive the tradition.
The place calls for tranquility on this busy street, the decor uncluttered, made from salvaged materials, such as old barrels or wine crates, a young and assumed side by today's standards. You'll find the perfect bottle for a dinner with friends, as well as fine spirits and local and international beers... no fewer than 400 references and, of course, Coraline's expert advice. Follow her humorous instagram! And Mignet's day gust from April to October, a convivial get-together once or twice a month on Thursdays from 6pm. Tastings are accompanied by charcuterie and cheeses.

CAVE AGOSTINI

Caviste
5/5
1 review

This new wine cellar arrived unexpectedly in December 2022, but once you've stepped through the door, it lives up to all its promises. At the helm is Maxime Agostini, a young wine enthusiast who left the region for a few years to work in the capital, where he honed his wine knowledge, and returned to Marseille to realize his dream of opening his own wine cellar. The advice is expert, with a pleasantly relaxed tone. A fine selection of regional, French and foreign wines. In an unusual move for Marseille, Maxime Agostini sells quite a few Greek wines, having specialized in the field for several years. An opportunity to make new discoveries. As well as wine, spirits and champagne.

If you don't have the time to explore the vineyards of the Rhône Valley, make a detour to this wine fair where François Cas, a sommelier by trade and a knowledgeable wine merchant who provides fine local cuisine, officiates. He has nurtured his passion and experience with starred chefs in France and elsewhere as far away as Uruguay and Canada. You can trust him, he knows what he sells and knows the estates and most of the winegrowers whose bottles fill his shop. Spend a Friday late afternoon there, you can extend it with the Apéro-Comptoir.

GIGONDAS LACAVE – LES VIGNERONS DE GIGONDAS

Wine Cellar Wine House
4.7/5

Founded in 1956, the cellar brings together winegrowers at the head of more than 150 hectares of vines. At the cellar, they will advise you on how to taste the wines, such as the reds that make the reputation of the appellation. The cellar also produces a rosé, as well as a Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise "Terre Blonde" which can be served as an aperitif or with dessert. But beware, the cellar is not satisfied with its sales activity, it also offers wine tourism services.

LA CAVE DU COURS MIRABEAU

Caviste

Don't miss this magnificent cellar on the Cours Mirabeau, in the same place as the Côté Cour restaurant, in the Arbaud-Jouques town house; go down to the right to the entresol to appreciate the coolness of this vaulted cellar, renovated to a high standard. A historic showcase for bottles from here and abroad, 500 references in wines, champagnes and spirits. Romain and Rebbeca Champetier de Ribes will introduce you to little marvels, confidential labels and also rums and gins (Romain's passion). Tasting takes place in the area reserved for spirits. CAVE DU VIGNERON

It is the same brand as La Cave du Vigneron which is in Les Milles. The Other Cellar plays the aesthetic card, with perfect display cases and design alignments with the bottles well aligned, also pointed on the advice and that's why we come here, they are all sommeliers. We appreciate the quality/price ratio and the richness of the proposals: 1,500 references! Fine wines, whiskies, spirits, wine fountains, champagnes... and, of course, a fine selection of hillsides in Aix and Côtes de Provence, as well as labels from all over France and some foreign wines. Tastings are regularly offered which allow the informed discovery of great wines.

LA CAVE DES DOMAINES

Caviste

For some years, the Cellar des Domaines welcomes you, on this small commercial area where it is easy to park, near the motorway La Provençale. Here, Jacqueline receives you with great kindness and skill. The other Cellar of Domains is located in Célony, practice when you live on that side of Aix, and it's Ludovic who receives you. At both stores you find very good table wines at the tank at perfectly reasonable prices and a collection of bottles rigorously selected in the three colours, with a predominance, land force, in the rosé. AOC Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence, wines of Provence, Bordeaux, Languedoc; and according to the years of Bandol, and some wines of Var and Vaucluse… We appreciate the excellent value for money and interesting selection of small producers.

He has selected for you wines from the French terroir and in particular small producers, as well as champagnes produced by small harvesters. A wide range of whiskies and rums is also available. You have a choice in a very reasonable price range, about sixty bottles from all regions at less than 10 €. Winegrowers come to present their wines; targeted tastings for customers. The cellar is large, very fresh and contains enough labels to make a superb Tour de France wine wine. The Côtes-du-Rhône region is of course honour, but the other regions are not neglected, far from it. There are beautiful castles-Margaux, castles-Montus in Madiran, and a beautiful selection of bourgognes, white, champagnes, alcohols at all prices.

When you walk through the door, you are welcomed by the smile of Jean-Michel Guérin, a man who is passionate about his job as a wine merchant. He transports us into his world of wines and spirits, shares his knowledge with simplicity and elegance and gives us the desire to taste a good wine. Each bottle is like a poem that he describes to us with an enchanting vocabulary. We really have the feeling to travel through the vineyards of France! He will know how to find THE wine that will accompany your meal or simply sublimate your aperitif.

MADEMOISELLE WINE

Caviste
4/5
1 review

The shop front is not very big, like the long shop, but it is enough to make it an epicurean showcase dedicated to wine and champagne with 300 references. Aurélia Gauthier, alias Mademoiselle Wine, is a young woman as lively and sparkling as the champagnes she loves and talks about with passion (a common point, which we like, with Amélie Nothomb, the novelist with the black hat for whom "champagne is a work of art"). So if you're a bubble lover, Aurélia has unearthed for you more than a hundred labels, confidential domains and rare bottles for this festive wine. Ports are another of Aurelia's predilection, and the selection she offers you is rather sharp, with some vintage nectars and beautiful vintages that will make the perfect match with cheeses and chocolate. And of course, a lot of choice in the carefully referenced wines, from the Côtes-du-Rhône and Burgundy among others, with favourites for small winemakers, whose photo and technical data sheet Aurélia hangs on the neck of the bottle. You'll find them on sale in pretty square jars, also superb Ardèche sausages which embalm the shop, a good idea to accompany the bottle at aperitif time!

CAVE DU FELIBRIGE

Caviste
4/5

Vincent Stagetti and his son Livio select for you a very large choice of wines and alcohols focused on identity and terroir, favouring organic, biodynamic and natural wines.
Large choice at all prices of wines from Provence but also from Burgundy and Champagnes from winegrowers (rare pearls), wines from Rhône, Loire, Languedoc-Roussillon... without forgetting Italy (the origins) and other countries. At the Félibrige, you can have your cellar appraised, offer business gifts and organise tasting meals at home or at the restaurant with an introduction to wine tasting. An unmissable address where passion and skill rhyme with a warm welcome.

LES 5 SENS

Red, rosé, white, vintage… Bottles are wisely and beautifully installed in lockers and accessible to all stock exchanges. If Provence wines (Côtes de Provence, Bandol, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence) and the Rhone valley (Côtes du Ventoux, Cairanne, Canoeing, Crozes Hermitage) are widely represented, you can also find wines from Bordeaux, Alsace, Burgundy and foreigners (Italy, Portugal, Australia, Argentina, Chile…). A space is also devoted to spirits. What one likes above all is the wise advice of the wine merchant who knows how to find beautiful bottles that match your demand.

In the gourmet halls of the Marché de la Gare, it's here at Avitus that you'll find the grand cru or the confidential domaine, little marvels and rarities for your food and wine pairings, as well as champagnes and spirits (excellent whiskies and rums in particular). You'll also benefit from the expert advice of Arnaud de la Chanonie and his wife Isabelle. At Avitus, you can choose from hundreds of references! Last but not least, regional wines dominate, of course, but are not exclusive.

LA SOURCE

Caviste

The new address for wine lovers, more precisely for natural and living wines. A very small, well laid out, uncluttered space, a few industrial shelves with dozens of good references of well-grown and tasty wines. The advice of the house will be able to direct you according to your tastes and preferences. The prices are a little higher than elsewhere but the selection is scrupulous, the references only of quality. Some grocery products on sale to accompany your bottles of wine. A really nice address putting the boulevard Chave a little more on the map of Marseille wines.
