Valréas, located in the enclave of the Popes, is a historic destination for wine lovers. Cave Coopérative La Gaillarde, also known as Caveau Saint Jean, is a must for wine lovers in Valréas. The cellar offers a wide selection of red, rosé and white wines, as well as large formats and a wine fountain. The winegrowers of Valréas are proud of their heritage and perpetuate the know-how of their ancestors. The Valréas vineyards benefit from a unique terroir, with stony clay-limestone soils and a Provencal climate, giving the wines exceptional freshness and finesse. Sablet's cellar, Le Gravillas, was created in 1935. Located on the Dentelles de Montmirail hillside, it brings together some sixty winegrowers who are passionate about their terroir and who work 306 ha in the Côtes-du-Rhône, Sablet Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages, Séguret Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages, Plan de Dieu Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages and Gigondas appellations. Gilles, national finalist and PACA winner of the Talents de l'Artisanat Competition, welcomes you to his new boutique which has left rue Pied-de-Ville to settle on boulevard Gassendi at n°34. His shop and laboratory have gained in visibility and space, but the place remains cosy as well as its tea room, coffee shop and recently ice-cream parlour. Here, fresh buttons are highlighted, which can be personalized endlessly, a text, a photo, a message. The result is amazing! Everything is done on site in a traditional way. The address is relatively recent but we are already rushing around. Gilles prepares six to eight flavours a week. Taste the caramel salted butter macaroon. A delight! A beautiful vintage front made of blue tiles straight out of the 1960s. This superb cheese shop, with its resolutely modern interior, offers a range of cheeses that would make any connoisseur or curious person swoon. At the helm, not Lucienne but Alban, a passionate man trained in cheese making. The cheeses are selected with care and taste: raw milk, pasteurized (Endoume is a district where the birth rate is exploding), pressed, soft or blue-veined. Regional and from elsewhere. It is superb and the welcome is very warm.

Nice gourmet address offering good cheeses from all over the country, carefully selected according to the season and some from small producers. You will also find good farm yoghurts (cow, ewe and goat), (real) good fresh cream produced in Vercors, churned butter and raw milk that the owner goes to fetch in person every two weeks. Here, everything is handmade with local products selected for their qualities. Thanks to a good dose of love and know-how, the result is simply delicious. Let yourself be tempted by the house specialty, the Olinette, a sweet and salty cookie made with PDO olive oil. You can find them on the market of Oraison and at night in summer.

Tasting of olive oil, tapenade, honey... it happens in the store of the mas de Cayol, a pretty store where a pleasant smell of Provence emanates. A new kind of gourmet market has opened on boulevard Longchamp, in place of a former theater. After a great deal of hard work and self-sacrifice, the trio of Amaury, Pierre and Hugo were finally able to open a beautiful indoor market at the beginning of September 2023, an inspiring and quite unique venue in the city center. Featuring a greengrocer offering only local fruit and vegetables (with the exception of citrus fruits from Sicily and Corsica), a cheesemonger, a wine shop, a butcher, a bakery corner by Ferments Bakery and, last but not least, the market auction by our long-time favorite, ex-Nico Coquillages, the various counters are just waiting for you to do your shopping. La Madeleine de Marseille, recently opened as a boutique by two partners, Patrick and Nicolas, is located in the lively Cinq-Avenues district. It's a pretty store with the sweet aroma of freshly baked madeleines. Proust himself would love it, and would never leave the premises. Different flavors: aniseed, almond, pistachio, lemon, plain and a delicious melting sensation on the palate. A real treat. Everything is made on site in the small laboratory, so it's very, very fresh. You'll appreciate the texture of the madeleines, the bits of chocolate, the flaked almonds and the pistachio powder. A gourmet marvel you won't want to miss!

Vanessa is at the helm of this boutique dedicated to the pleasures of wine, on the Avenue des Chartreux and a stone's throw from Parc Longchamp. In the very pleasant district of Beaumont, the historical stronghold of the Armenian Marseillaise community, is Sassoun. This shop is the ultimate reference in Armenian fine pastry in the Phocaean city. Loyal customers have been coming for years now to enjoy a warm welcome first of all, and delicious sweets, baklavas, rich in honey and flavours or the Armenian brioche, the Cheurek. The flour, to which the long fermentation gives a particularly fine taste, comes exclusively from Henri de Pazzis, farmer and miller, who cultivates forty-five hectares of land in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. And organic, of course! Once delivered to the expert hands of our craftsmen, its workmanship and precise wood-fired baking result in a bread of exceptional quality.

On the heights of the village, this organic transhumance bee farm produces several varieties of honey: rosemary, garrigue, thyme, acacia, chestnut, calanques, lime and lavender, from the Vercors. This wine and olive-growing estate is located in the heart of the Provencal countryside and produces wines from noble grape varieties. It benefits from the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence PDO. Its oil mill has been awarded the distinction Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company), a label of excellence for French know-how. Among the flagship olive oils are the AOP Aix-en-Provence, the Fruité Mûr de Château Virant, the Vallon des Oliviers in AOP Provence, Fruité Mûr and Bio... Many home-made delicacies are available in the shop (cooked wine jams, olive caramels...)

Les Fromagères offers a wide choice of cheeses selected from the best products matured in partnership with some of the most renowned Meilleurs Ouvriers de France. Louérion - the name given to the Luberon by the Romans - groups together some 130 cooperative winegrowers, cultivating a 950-hectare vineyard in the communes of Ansouis, Cabrières-d'Aigues, Cadenet, Cucuron, La Motte-d'Aigues, La Tour-d'Aigues, Lauris, Lourmarin, Mérindol, Pertuis, Puget, Puyvert, Sannes, Vaugines and Villelaure. Regularly awarded prizes, their wines are characterized by fruity scents for the whites, aromas of red or exotic fruit for the rosés, and notes of spice or ripe fruit for the reds. Nestled at the entrance to the Alpilles, the estate bought by the Oddo family in 2015 covers an area of 72 ha: 45 ha of vines, 10 ha of olive trees and 23 ha of woods and garrigue. Here you can taste their wines: A.O.P. Côteaux-d'Aix-en-Provence in 3 colors, I.G.P. Alpilles. Also their A.O.P. Vallée-des-Baux-de-Provence olive oil and wines from their other estates in Sicily, South Africa and Sancerre. The estate offers a function room for hire with terrace.

In this organically cultivated estate, the vines and olive trees are treated with copper hydroxide (a natural product), sulphur and seaweed to strengthen the plants. The estate has an olive grove of 2,800 trees of the Aglandau, Bouteillan and Picholine varieties, whose olives are crushed to produce a delicious green fruity oil, also stamped organic. This vineyard was already cultivated by the Romans! With its 160 ha - including 100 ha in production - it is the highest and most important estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The famous rolled pebbles placed on a clay bank that feed the roots are located are located two meters deep! These are tannic wines with a certain classicism. The tasting is charged if you are in a group, but becomes free if you buy bottles. The advantage here is that you can taste up to 6 wines and make comparisons with the different wines of the estate, commented by Alex! Tavel/Côte de Provence - Chateauneuf/Lirac...Don't forget to take 2 pictures, one on the valley at the cellar exit and the other with Mont Ventoux, and one of the vines of rolled pebbles. It is one of the best estates in Chateauneuf-du-Pape.

In this family area where his great-grandfather was already working, the requirements of Jean Salen are commensurate with the quality of his wines  : the vineyard of 30   ha is cultivated traditionally in a constant concern to preserve a biological balance. Harvesting is carried out by hand at a time when each varietal has reached maturity. The yields are low. You can enjoy fabulous wines such as the red wine Valéria, red Tradition, rosé, white white and wine cooked according to the old Provençal tradition. The latter is a very pleasant aperitif.

Here we are in a very old wine estate, exploited since Roman times. Gabriel Sumeire acquired it in 1953. The estate is still run by his descendants today.
