At the gates of the city, the nature base François Léotard is a vast playground. Its 135 hectares of greenery even include a sandy beach! But before thinking about relax, think sport: The Base is a health course and a fitness area for exercising exercises in complete freedom. Those who prefer the walk can try the walking trails or the permanent orientation route. Finally, cyclists and rollers can have fun on a cycle path or on the bosses ground for the most brave.

This forest was first born in the imagination of some foresters who went to collect cedar seeds in the Algerian Middle Atlas. The cedar forest forms a massif of 250 hectares, divided between the communes of Bonnieux, Lacoste and Ménerbes. There are a lot of walks to do and the levels are quite easy. One can easily walk along the whole crest of the Petit Luberon to Cheval Blanc or to Oppède. But beware, it is necessary to provide a vehicle for the return.

It offers a wide range of activities for beginners, as well as half-day, full-day, weekend or longer courses for sports vacations supervised by a state-qualified guide, and rentals for water sports activities. Le Lavandou's sentier du Littoral is a great opportunity for hikers to criss-cross the region's coastline and then reach the Fossette beach in just 3 kilometers. Right from the charming port, this coastal hike offers superb panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea. While the first part of the route is very accessible, the rest of the way offers a number of challenging climbs through rocky passages between coves and dreamy villas. Whatever your pace, this free tour connects you to the natural world of the Var.

The Coast Trail crosses the coast of Var for nearly 200 km. From the centre of Saint-Tropez, you can join it to make a very simple portion: take two hours to reach Pampelonne beach from the Portalet tower. A pleasant walk that makes you pass through the bay of Canebiers and the calanque of the Rabiou. The walk ends with the huge sandy beach of Pampelonne where you won't be able to fight a head.

At the beginning of Estoublon, this beautiful hike will take you to the castle of Trévans by Promenade Saint-Jean, passing through millennia olive groves, the butterfly garden and beautiful lavender fields. As a bonus, you can enjoy local products at the end of the hike.

A real journey where turn the five senses are kings, a playful and didactic approach where the visitor goes and comes, without imposed order. After discovering the intimacy of the cellar and setting Cairanne in its tourist landscape, it borrows the gallery where video and audio terminals evoke the life of the vine and wine. There are many walks in the vicinity of Sisteron. The "botanical trail of Molard" is one of them, which we highly recommend for its accessibility, its natural beauty and its fun aspect. It lasts about two and a half to three hours and is easy to walk with its red and white GR6 markings, as well as ONF markings. Along the way, you will discover 7 stations presenting the forest environment and its species.

You will thus walk through the Molard massif, whose forest covers 25 ha spread out from 500 m to 748 m of altitude. Located at the gates of Sisteron, which it dominates with its presence, it is its garden, its green lung. It represents a remarkable example of regeneration of the vegetation and protection of the environment. Take the botanical path called "montée du Molard" on the edge of the Sisteron municipal forest. Follow it to the end. Turn right onto the Cedar Tourist Trail. After four hairpin bends and a power line, go left towards the Molard ridge. Continue on the slope of this ridge until you reach the orientation table which allows you to observe the whole of the Sisters' country. You will find a small refuge nearby. Do not go down towards Sisteron via Combes, but continue on the ridge. At the crossroads, at the level of the high voltage pylon, continue straight on towards the highest point of Molard. Go back down to Sisteron either by the path you took or by Les Combes.

The rounded silhouette of Mont Ventoux rises above Provence as to protect it. Its summit is the meeting point of the athletes who take advantage of its slopes in winter and summer. Once snow has fallen, the mountain turns into a ski resort, with several kilometres of signposted slopes for alpine skiing and Nordic skiing. A 8 kilometre snowshoe route also allows to discover Mont Ventoux in two hours. Almost reaching the summit, this circuit offers beautiful landscapes around the mount.

A symbol of Provence, lavender is the "blue gold" of the Luberon. To pay tribute, the commune of Sault has set up a five-kilometre discovery trail (possible on 8 and 12 km) at the edge of the village, showing every stage in the distillation of lavender from the moment it is planted. The loop is freely accessible, but the fields are only in bloom during the summer, so it would be a shame not to see their brilliant colors, and even more, to breathe in their intoxicating fragrance. What's more, the one-and-a-half-hour walk is very easy.
