The Marseille Operettas and musical theatre contest is a national and international competition organized by the municipality every year. It is open without distinction to all French or foreign performers. With an international reputation, he promotes new talent in the field of opera and musical theatre. The Théâtralia is a week entirely dedicated to theatre in all its forms (dance, music, photo), open to a wide audience in the heart of downtown Marseille, the Centre Bourse. The Lacoste Festival, created by fashion designer Pierre Cardin, is one of Provence's summer festivals. Dedicated to theater, dance, opera and cinema, it celebrates its 24th anniversary this year. Performances take place in the Carrières du Château du Marquis de Sade, a historic, unusual, surprising and unforgettable site in the heart of the Luberon. The Festival de théâtres de marionnettes takes place in Châteaurenard, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, in the Bouches-du-Rhône département. Created in 2007, this festival is now in its 4th year. It offers over 20 performances accessible to all audiences, with shows for children, teens/adults and the general public. Among the companies taking part are Cie Coatimundi, Les voisins du dessus, Caramantran, and many others. Košice 2013, European Capital of culture, presents an overview of the Slovak culture with concerts - Pacora Trio & Bashavel, a culinary show, the screening of a Slovak documentary film, paper têtes , in the presence of the manager Dušan Hanák and the franco-swiss Slovak philosopher Miroslav Marcelli. A show of contemporary dance offered by Studio Théâtre Banská Bystrica is also introduced, as well as a theatrical creation. For its fifth edition, in partnership with Rivoli, and the COVE, the International Youth Cinema Festival offers more than 70 films capable of satisfying small and large. Rich evenings in events where cinema, music, painting and speech can express themselves.

Created in 1985 by the late great Jean-Claude Brialy and Jacqueline Franjou as a tribute to Gérard Philipe, this festival lasts twelve days, from the end of July to mid-August. It is held in an exceptional setting, the Théâtre de Verdure, and sees classical or contemporary plays being performed, alternating with singing tours by French variety artists and renowned comedians. Since 2007, Michel Boujenah is the artistic director of the festival.

The xvi Aix-en-Baroque Festival of Heritage Music is held from July 7 to 12, 2012 and Program five concerts: re of a provence work: The Muses of Campra, works to grand-choir (Campra, Vallière, David), French spirit of the Middle Ages in our days, motets of André Campra, Divertissement entertainment. The Association for the Active Promotion of Books organizes a monthly day of antique and modern books and documents on the first and third Saturdays of each month (only the first Saturdays in July and August), bringing together about fifteen professional booksellers. Old books, first editions, illustrated books, but also documentary books in the most varied domains up to comic books and detective books of collection.

The Festival photo d'Aix has chosen a very special approach with its Regards Croisés (Crossed Views) between international artists. Each year, a different country is invited to take part in a "match" with France. But there are also "Parcours" on a variety of themes: Portraits, fragility, free, unusual...
