The commune of Bourbriac owes its name, in the VIth century, to the hermit Saint Briac - the pilgrims invoked him against madness, epilepsy and rage. It was named, at the time, Minihy-de-Briac, then Menebriac in the Middle Ages, before being Bourbriac. The commune was already occupied by the men of the Neolithic, then by those of the Bronze Age. Many tumuli were discovered on these places. The village is charming and animated during the weekend.
