ÉGLISE DE SAINT SENOCH
Situated on a small square just steps from the restaurant Le Magny, the church of Sassenay is dedicated to Saint Senoch, a th century monk who became a patron of the parish, whose relics she houses. Saint Senoch (536-576) healed the blind, paralyzed them, owned. Built in the th century, on the old chapel of the castle, the church was restored in the th century, when it was decorated with stained glass windows representing the life of Saint Senoch. Very rare in the Chalonnais, the building and the bell tower are Romanesque. Rather unusual, the visitor can access the bell tower via a small outside staircase along the side wall of the church. The chapel on the left houses the relics of the saint but also those of Saint Célinie and a sandstone sarcophagus of the Dheune valley.
