Charming hotel with terrace in Mercurey preparing nicely presented recipes and home-made dishes

Le Val-d'Or is a safe bet, with the typically Burgundian charm of a 19th-century coaching inn. Burgundy stone floors, a large fireplace and whitewashed French ceilings create a serene, chic ambience. The recently refurbished kitchen is the perfect place for Catherine Ray, the chef, to showcase her talents in preparing recipes that are always beautifully presented and hard to resist. All dishes are homemade. In summer, the terrace at the foot of hundred-year-old cedars is perfect.
